Man its been bad slow here in Maryland too I just talked to DNR and where we hunt btween snow hill and pokomoke next to pokomoke state forest the blue tongue has reeked havoc since the drought the last 2 years this year we lost uo to 40% of the herd here on the lower shore. But then again on the western shore near union bridge there is no bluetongue and the weekend before rifle I saw 25 deer in 1 morning including 2 massave bucks I couldnt shoot they were on property behind me they shot him opening day rifle season the week after I saw him but I watched him mate a doe that day I seen him so there will be more of him god willing
I tracked deer and I do it with a dog and often. I’ve tracked hundreds of deer and can tell you that you absolutely wrong. There are endless problems with a frontal shot. Great for a gun. Terrible with a bow or crossbow. Please take this constructive criticism and stop doing that.
You may have tracked hundreds ok I'll take your word for it, but I've personally killed close to a hundred whitetail deer not counting other deer species and wild hogs. From the deep south to the Midwest I've been hunting since the early 90's with great success and killed more than a few with a frontal shot.

Very fatal shot. Entered into the front shoulder and exited out of the opposite ham, doesn't get any better on a frontal shot.
