One more thing..I remember one summer, at the falls, there was a log rolling show. It was so much fun to watch! They did turn the falls off while performing though.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. If you haven't done so, go ahead and subscribe and ring the notification bell so you'll see my next set of videos coming next week.
I rode the American plunge starting around '80. They did have the man in the whirlpool, and the outhouse still. I haven't rode it for a few years due to back issues. Also, the Lumber camp falls have little stalactites growing from cracks in the ceiling, as you would walk under. I've seen them growing as you walk the corkscrew path, under, where you Sawyer's landing use to be. Nature is amazing!
Very nice Kevin! I also remember loading onto the American Plunge in the area you showed. I haven't rode it in years so I didn't know it had changed. I also didn't know that you couldn't walk behind the waterfall anymore. Good memories!!
Thank you! I'd been told I was wrong on the entry but I remember it very vividly. Yeah, behind the waterfall, there's always the ONE guy or a bunch on the same IQ level that ruins the fun for everyone.
Good to see the Lumberjack Camp waterfall is still going. Last time I was there, it was shut off. I did like to walk around the backside as well. I remember the first year the Lumberjack Camp opened (before the waterfall was there), they would have log rolling contests in the pond. The American Plunge reversed the water flow from Jim Owen's Float Trip. The cave was the last feature you went through rather than the first. I remember the live prairie dogs they kept in one of the areas next to the stream. Am I crazy or was it renamed Tom Sawyer's Float Trip at one time?
Thanks, Tom! Thanks for your contributions as well. Your Pictures really helped make this video cohesive. That thing about the Prarie Dogs, I really forgot about that.
Sorry you felt that way. Maybe try midweek next time. Ever since they introduced lights In Midtown weekend closer to Christmas have become shoulder to shoulder.

I'll admit, I don't remember the log rolling show, but I bet it was pretty cool!
I love seeing you show your true core here Kevin!
Ben Russell thank you.....
Thank you for bringing back old memories of the old rides.

Yes. It brings several theories into question about rates of development and by proxy the age of formations.

Locally made honey?
Yes!! I think the honey 🐝 is from Arkansas 20 miles away (give or take).
Thank you for the comment.
