Been watching Tom for the past week, tomorrow is when I start my cold outreach, stumble upon your channel some time ago(starts binge-watching)and you upload a video that I absolutely need! The universe is definitely working in my favour.
I'm an borderline itnermediate level copywriter and i'm literally just trying to find a better outreach method (mine works but takes too long lol). I'm coming back in a week's time and showing my results. Btw good video, very straight to the point no bs.
Good one brother I started using this method too since I realized I get to practice AND do outreach nice vid. Also i u dont mind what app u using with ur presentation?
Hey bro, I pitched with captions at that moment, but u can send any free value you want: emails, sales pages, scripts, youtube titles, captions, about me pages, etc...
Hey pol, how do you add that “free” part at your google docs? And how do you send 2 messages at the dms?. Thanks for the great content man, it’s always well explained and concise. Keep up the great work man, love the content 🥂
Great video. My question is if you sent the value on the first message and they didn’t see it, you’ll still be stuck in the request section. So how would your follow up help?
For the follow-up, try something like: If they haven’t seen it yet, send a quick “Did you get a chance to check this out?” or, if they have, ask “What do you think?” If they respond positively, you could follow up with something like, “I’d love to jump on a quick call to discuss some ideas I have for you/your business! When’s a good time, or here’s my Calendly link.” Using a voice note can also work well; it adds intrigue, and they’re more likely to open the DM that way.
What's going on man, quick question. What would you say is the best way to find these clients on IG, Email, upwork, etc. BTW I appreciate the value, I'm in the beginning stage of my copywriting journey and plan to start outreach soon! 😊
Hey, I recommend you find one creator on instagram and click the "suggested profiles button" and follow similar accounts from there. You can also stalk his followed. If none of that works, I recommend u use the tiktok algorithm to find clients and then outreach them on insta, since the insta search algorithm is pretty bad
Hey G. Thanks for this vid. I have a question tho This value upfront method is v popular, I mean people been doing it, and so I wonder why Tom came up with the Compliment one? He nowadays says to avoid sending free value upfront and to ask permission before sending. Personally, I've got a lot of replies & thanks yous by it but no success so far. Maybe the compliment one works well due to good social media etc? In any case, do share what your ratio of success has been with the both methods. Thanks a lot
Value Upfront works best cuz its direct, no games, trustable, and gives lots of value upfront. Compliment one used to work but its insanely overused rn so ppl don't fall for it as easily nowadays
@@PolWritesStuff I see. What if we sorta combine the two. Like start the msg with compliment and end it with value? We are a fan who also happens to be a professional that wants to help them.
@@tausif3k yes! u can sneak in a compliment if u want, they’ll actually like it if it’s genuine. It’s still the Value Upfront method, but with a compliment
Hey, great content, but i just have a question. How do you find the business to outreach to? Because i tried to use hashtag on instagram but it just doesn't give me any potential business. Thank you
follow up should be like: "did you see this" (if they haven't seen it) or "what do u think of this"... If they like it, And then you could say sth along the lines of "I'd love to hop on a quick call to discuss what I have in mind for you / your business, when are you free? / here's my Calendly link"... Sending that message in a voice note format also helps as it builds intrigue and they're more likely to open the DM that way
@@_ALICIA Exactly the issue is that ppl smell these things now so either the compliment is really personalized and makes sense or its an instant read for some ppl

But bro you gotta get out of the requests first to make sure that your prospect replies to his DMS to not waste your time,a lot of the times you go ahead and write them free value and they just don't see your message
Thats why I also recommend Email... Although free value is often enough curiosity to get them to read the thing. You may believe it or not but prospects usually see almost all DMs, so if they didn't respond is usually cuz ur copy wasn't that good yet
@PolWritesStuff bro they don't see it at all some ppl just don't open the dms, and with email it's not gonna work cuz i don't have a domain and Gmail account looks unprofessional.
This might be a fundamental misunderstanding, but are you actually MAKING the emails, ad, etc. in finished form or just like the script of it and where the parts of it should be? They never show an example of some copy they’ve sent or been paid for like do people really pay u just for tactical words in a google doc when they still have to make into a finished thing??
@@ChristianChirtovojo yes, they pay you for just the “tactical words”… Although they don’t. Copywriting is much more than some magic “words”. There’s a LOT of work behind, and if someone doesn’t do anything of that, they understand nothing of copywriting and nothing of marketing per se. It’s kinda like programming, which is 99% thinking your brains off looking at a wall and 1% typing in the keyboard. And notice it can still be called “writing”, even if it’s such a small part of the process…
@@ChristianChirtovojo Also thats why they hire artists and graphic designers: to turn the copy into the finished product (it’s simply not the copywriter’s job)
