I don't think minicamp means anything
I agree game day is all I want to see I believe a faster guy would be better with Purdy just my opinion he seems like what we got in Aiyuk unless we replacing Aiyuk because his contract is going to be more than Deebo
I agree
It does when you a rookie 😂
The real truth is content creators need to say controversial shit to get engagement. It's how they monetize us. Lookit cohn, he's the worst with all that aiyuk is helping traded bs.
It doesn’t
Why do you have to ask if Pearsall is tough? He bounces up immediately from hits. He doesn’t shy away from going over the middle. His famous one handed catch saw him getting drilled immediately by 2 guys, holding onto the ball and jumping up right away. Toughness is not a question.
College is different
@@javarzshinall9396 Not with the way the rules are now. I have been a fan since the 1960s...no one gets blown up anymore. .
Lombardi = Everything’s great!
Grant = Everything sucks!
Larry = Everything is solid!
lombardi never ever admits when he is wrong , but grant and larry does
Lombardi’s a yes man
@@Sonleon925and grant is a no man lol
@@huh35232Lombardi gives the benefit of the doubt to a winning organization. How crazy is that lol.
Hahaha exactly.
Asking if Pearsall is tough based on his film is like asking if Tyreke Hill is fast on tape.
Its the attribute that jumps out the most.
His route running looked sharp
Kreug, the pig in the pickle thing. Oh my God. I don't know if I can do it anymore
😂 Try it! Trust me, you'll love it!
They better be paying you well as much as you plug them....
@@scgamer3274 right🤣
Try fast forward, genius
@sammyk988 it was a joke dummy.
4.41 speed means he can maintain his separation. He’s also got very high football IQ and knows where to find the soft spots.
hes not afraid to be in the middle. he will excel in this offense.
lmao can we wait until they actually put pads on? sheesh. this era of reactionary analysis is so insane. Here's a comparison if you watch his film: Emmanuel Sanders...or if you want to stay white: a more athletic Adam Thielen. Boom, that's it.
Honestly think Grant is just extremely sensitive & assumed Lombardi was talking about him. And its a slow offseason, so he wanted to stir up a fake beef for clicks. Except Lombardi will never respond so the feud is one sided lol
Can’t blame David, he has better things to do
grants cohns a clown. thats how he gets clicks
Lombardi always throwing underhanded shots at Cohn and vise versa-don’t picks sides bro haha
@@OohSooFresh1 I’m gonna pick the guy who didn’t brag about wanting to get hit by Javon Kinlaw so he could sue him.
He’s a joke, no doubt. Lombardi comes off very condescending and know it all ish… which is why i prefer Larry and Guy Haberman 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
We'll see how effective Pearsall is against an NFL secondary come preseason--and more importantly during regular and postseason. At my peak I had a 40-inch vertical and could run a 4.4 40-yard dash--yet no one came knocking with D-1 offers to play football. For now I'm leaning towards Grant Cohn's take.
Danny Amendola is a great comp Amendola was a beast too. He was tough and very versatile.
Let me say this: I think that someday Ricky Pearsall will be the 49ers No. 1 receiver, ahead of Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle, and Jennings. Time will tell. The 49ers have drafted some really good players this draft, to improve the team. We have some very good ones. I also said when they drafted Lance that Trey Lance would be an absolute bust and a total complete flop, and everybody screamed at me, including Grant Cohn, but I was right. Trey was a nice guy, but too timid. They that screamed at me were wrong. I said that Brock Purdy would be a winner, and would win at least one Super Bowl, back when he first started and won the starting job. Few believed me. Larry Kruegar believed somewhat the same as me about Brock early. Then, Purdy went to the Super Bowl, and almost won, in his second season. This year will only be his third season. By the way, Mahomes can be beaten in the Super Bowl. Brady did it. Brock Purdy beat Brady 31 to 3. It depends what day it is, and alot of other factors.
Who was throwing him the ball not Brock Purdy and it was no pads and they're learning the play book smh Krug is hating on this pick since they turned it in
Good evaluation...and if you look at his college highlights, YAC is NOT his strong point (and that's on a college level)
His qb’s stunk and kyles offense will create a lot of yac opportunity for him
Also BA and JJ are stud blockers - truly elite. And Deebo isn’t bad. Can this guy block? Important for CMC wide runs
From what I saw on your video of Ricky doing drills he really stood out with his fluid movement. Just the way he leans his body to go around the corner compared to the others shows me he knows what he's doing and how important every single movement is. You can tell he's really put the work in on his craft and that's something that all the greats have
I think Ricky took enough big hits in college to be confident of his toughness. Has Larry speculated on where he lands on the depth chart, yet? That's what I'd like to hear
They will regret not picking Cooper DeJean. Boggles the mind when the receiving group is already crowded for a team that is run first team....
If he’s got 2 steps on a guy, that guy is going to be a half a second faster to run him down. There’s a difference between 4.4 and 4.3 but that won’t make up the the 3 yards needed to catch a guy if they’re both in a full sprint
Pig in a pickle 🥒🥒🤣 Thank you Larry. Always appreciate your analysis and views. Go 49ers 💪
He looked good to me and much better than the other receivers: and it’s just rookie minicamp:
😂 Agree, can't see a lot in mini camp. Fan rant. While Pearsall might be a very good WR, was he really a player of need for Niners at 31. You already said, WR might not as high a priority, many FAs available, many WRs come in the draft every yr. While OT are hard to find in draft. Williams is 36?, could retire anytime. O-line takes time to transition to Pro, per Vish. So why not have Williams replacement on the team now, learning from the best now. The O-line is rank #20-28, right side is considered the weak link. This O-line did get to SB, but Brock ability to make off schedule plays save them. Aiyuk was only targeted a few times in SB. How getting another receiver helps, if Brock doesn't have time to pass. The Chiefs n other teams know the Niners weakness is O-line. Crazy, Niners trade pick with SB rival, so they can pick an OT. Another concern, D-line. Kyle/Niners used to build D-line thru draft. Now, they use re-trends. Guys on 1-2 yr contract, who are older, looking for their next payday. The DC has to mesh these guys into a cohesive unit n built chemistry with guys who will be gone at end of season. The draft haven't yielded many impact players lately. Kyle /Niners supposed to know what doing. Drafted Trey? But drafted Brock too. Hits n misses. Weird. Keep, Ayiuk, Jennings, n draft Pearsall, Cowing, sign Owens son. There are 10 WRs for 5-6 spots on 53. Jennings or Bell come in on 3rd downs, does Pearsall replace Jennings, then why keep him. Per history, Kyle doesn't use much 4-5 WR sets. Kyle favor vets, but team is getting older. Need to get younger, better, cheaper. Need to pay Aiyuk, Brock, etc....2025. Hopefully, Niners got better. Defense got many changes. Offense got a few. Let camp battles begin.
You have to remember we got deebo, aiyuk, kittle and jennings. He will be going against lower tier corners.
Even if Pearsall is just an outlet receiver on broken plays, he's keeping Purdy from getting hit and moving the chains
It’s so funny every year these guys go to practices and critique all the players and come regular season their reports are way off. Its not even real practice it’s mini camp who cares
atta boi Krueg!
There are few truths if any revealed in rookie minicamp
It's not that hard to figure out. The people who didn't like him as a 1st round pick are the same exact people talking bad about him. The Narrative must be preserved.
You obviously know more than I do but if maintaining separation is your biggest concern then I don’t see how that’s a huge deal. Aiyuk doesn’t really have that kind of speed either and it doesn’t seem to slow him down too much.
I feel like Pearsall is going to be a go to possession receiver. Not a huge play guy but someone the 49ers can count in when they NEED a catch.
Why even give #toxicgrant the time of day? He is just sore that Lombardi didn't want to collaborate with him
Good question. Grant is a joke
if you actually watch grant he's not always toxic , people need a sense of humor
@@hugh98932he asked counter questions instead of just being positive
@@hugh98932it would help if the guy was actually funny. He’s corny
I blocked Rant Mohn long ago!
Good breakdown, Larry. Pearsall could be great, could be a non-factor. We wont know for years possibly. Taking him at 31 was a D-. At 31, the reciever should have breakaway speed. He should be a burner, and a TD machine, Like xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell. I wanted to trade up to 15 and take a great tackle, like you talked about on your show. I wanted to take Powers Johnson, best center in the draft, at 31. We got a long shot in Pearsall, who isnt gonna play much as long we have so many other dudes. Niners should have traded up from 63 to 45 to get Pearsall, and if he was taken, take a great cornerback at 45. I am disgusted still by this selection. The only way I will feel good about it, is if he plays alot, right away, and he plays like a superstar. Thats what great first round wR's do. I expect him to flop, because the niners are so bad at drafting and they always seem to get it wrong.
He will not be going up against best corners. Brandon and deebo will need to be covered. After rookie year slick rick will be fine
Kruger is the only content creator that is questioning His toughness .. croker mentioned it on lock on 9ers without saying Larry's name . " I was on with this person last week. he's the only one questioning his toughness. I haven't heard any other creator have that concerned, but him "
Will Pearsall be going up against #1 corners? Who gonna guard Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, C Mac?
Always like your assessments Larry. Don't understand this back and forth. Not sure if its a professional competitiveness. Just report what you see. Enough content for all beat writers, reporters and analysts to talk about
Way to talk about the Obvious about every player that comes into the nfl. Every wide receiver, quarterback exetedra, has to see if there tough enough for the nfl level
Everyone looks good when there is not an opposing player bearing down on you, no pads, etc....the real test comes during the season when they are actually playing against someone.
After seeing a video on YT with all of pearsalls 2023 targets and catches. It looks like Larry is right, hes more like a Amendola nothing explosive but will get open, he does have jukes so that would be his YaC. Now i understand why Larry wanted Xavier Lagette😮
Is he tough? Yes. All the tape says he is, Florida used him as a lead blocker at times. He loves the physicality. We’re calling problems, problems, before they are even problems now.
Why do the Niners draft players in the first round who will not be immediate producers? Even if he gets in the field, at best he might be the 5th option. We should have traded back for more draft capitol.
No. 31 an immediate producers? Not guaranteed for anyone. This is a good slot guy, possession guy, I think. Unlike Krueger, I don’t think his getting plastered over the middle is that big of an issue. Why? Indeed, he may not be able to maintain separation with the best corners, but I think he will get run down from behind and be able to use his speed and quickness to avoid damage. I think he’s more similar to Aiyuk than people realize. Aiyuk’s touchdowns are mostly on blown coverage, and he’s often run down inside the 10. Amendola and Edelman are poor comparisons. Genetically, they had to be inordinately tough to survive, and both had many injury shortened season. A better comparison is Welker, who was smaller but quicker. And Pearsall has a better catch radius than Welker.
He perfect for Kyle I believe Brock made recievers better
amendola was a good player and i thought pearsall reminded me of a kind of wes welker guy especially when he was smaller his freshman year, he’s obviously bigger but amendola is a good comparison and he was a pain in our ass for years
You guys are such drama queens. Kohn is a little $^#%
Won’t really know anything until they put pads on & go against the defense
He won’t play if he can’t block! And we won’t know that until they start playing actual football
Matt Miaocco also said Trey Lance was the most accurate Rookie QB he had ever seen in 49ers camp. Which was a joke. It’s Rookie camp. Shanny will put him in spots to succeed. At the Expense of Jennings. It’s a few practices. His tape says he can play. He will be good to go. He will get some playing time, then next year will be a break out year.
He's NOT going to get blown up on the field because they don't let the hit WR anymore
This is an opinion at this point in time. It does not mean anything after a few hours of workout.
One of my pet peaves is when lombardi puts up a videos starting with "The real truth is..." I always roll my eyes 🙄🙄
Thing is, he won’t go against top corners in man to man. He’ll be receiver 3
Do you think he may not trust the QB enough to keep on the gas?
Pearsall has been compared to Amendola, Thielen, Edelman, and Kupp. 😂😂😂
I know he better get the same treatment. Danny gray got
He’s tough but he needs to get stronger. And yes, there are numerous instances on the college tape of him struggling to get off press and struggling with physicality at the catch point.
Weight room should take care of that...
He needs to stop the leaning in the direction he is going to cut when he drops his body, until that moment he cuts.
Amendola is less of an athlete, 3 inches shorter, and 10lbs lighter than Pearsall. Body control and ball skills trait are comparable, but that’s it. Pearsall will be a star in the league.
I love you Kreug but you repeat yourself quite a bit.
Truest words have never been spoken @purpleAlligatorpiss
Cmon, you guys saw him for 4 plays. Wait until he gets on the field.
Barring injury 1000+ all purpose yards easy. Who’s got the under? Larry?
So bottom line. The organization is building around our QB and not around the fans? Great Choices in the draft and the future Niners management. 👏
He may be a red zone or third and short WR
Before the season starts, he’s gonna get injured with Achilles injury. it always happens to the rookies.
Is there a "false truth"? Grant Cohen - 49ers troll - started this absurd convo. You dont need to give him oxygen.
I don't care about what they look like now. The games will reveal what's what.
I love you Larry, but please stop comparing slick Rick with these white WRs that have a 2 inch verticle. He's got 42! You need to compare him with a brotha.
He’s a better football player than a athlete, mini camp doesn’t show anything.
Guys bottom line is once again we have a "Coach" who thinks he's smarter then everyone else making ridcolus yes ridcolus picks.
You do not draft a third down chain moving receiver in the first Rd period!
And a QB that throws just over the middle 10-15 yards in not elite.
Let's see how we all feel after watching our Stud QB against other Stud QB's.
Even at this point, no one knows how pearsall will turn out, so everyone's opinion of him are irrelevant. My prediction is he will really good or really bad, not in the middle
I believe he could be average I don't expect elite
I think he is a jerry rice you just don’t see it yet
I think Chris Collinsworth..who was pretty darn good..
CC is pretty tall - 6’ 4” or so? He caught a lot of deep balls
larry you need to preface with, you wanted someone else at #31 like many others. 🤭
Based on tape Cowing looks the best
Does he really need to be tough over the middle in this new softer NFL.It's not like they are really letting defenders blow up receivers anymore.
People want him to be good so they have to make themselves say he is great or else it’s another wasted pick.
Pearsall boo boo 😂
So your questioning his long speed?
He doesn’t play to his timed speed. Go look at the 2023 Mizzou game and that early catch and long run. He cooked Rakestraw on the route - did a great job separating. In fact he cooked Rakestraw so badly that Rakestraw fell down. But then something happened that absolutely should not have happened for a guy with real deep speed - after Rakestraw fell down, he was able to get up and chase down and tackle Pearsall well before he got into the end zone. “Oh well that must mean Rakestraw is a real fast guy.” That’s the problem. Rakestraw is NOT a fast guy. He runs mid 4.5s to 4.6! A guy with REAL JUICE, e.g. Legette and McConkey among others, would NEVER have been caught by a slow ass Rakestraw who actually fell on his face on the play! There’s NO WAY a guy with REAL deep speed gets caught by Rakestraw on that play. No way.
I wanted Kool aid so I have to show slick rick unfair early criticism of him
Most us wanted best OT available
@@javarzshinall9396hell no. Speak for yourself. That's dumb as hell
Too bad the oline isn't.

They spent a bunch of picks on oline
T.o?
Ricky Pearsall has NOTHING in common with those Wrs you're comparing him to with the exception of being WHITE. Just because Pearsall is white don't mean he can't be compare to a black wr. Those white wrs mentioned lacks elite athleticism, Pearsall plays more like Aiyuk(quick, shifty, route running, solid catch radius, acrobatic catches etc) than any of those white wrs, even close in combine numbers.
Aiuk vertical 40"
Ricky vertical 42"
Aiyuk 40 4.50
Ricky 40 4.41
Aiyuk 10 yd spilit 1.52
Ricky 10 yd split 1.57
Aiyuk Broad jump 10' 8"
Ricky Broad jump 10' 9"
Prospect grade
Aiyuk 6.38 (Will Eventually Be Plus Starter)
Ricky 6.32 (Will Eventually Be Plus Starter)
Total score
Aiyuk 79 (good)
Ricky 78 (good)
Comparing Pearsall to white wrs is a lazy thing to do. He's more athletic than 100% of white wrs in the NFL..
Too many mouths to feed
Minicamps are a joke for anyone to make an evaluation.....Right now people are acting like Williams is the greatest QB to come out of college, why don't we wait until he actually plays against a team with a top 10 defense, when he can be sacked....Right now every QB looks good, it's easy to throw the ball to open guy not in pads playing against no one.
The truth about Pearsall is that he's not played a single NFL snap and so nobody has a clue if he's any good or not.
Danny Amendola is a great comp Amendola was a beast too. He was tough and very versatile.
