Lyrics:
Maybe someone's gonna save me.
My heart is made of gravy.
And the laps I swim from lunatics don't count.
Open up your stocking,
Pull out all the things you never wanted
from room service calls...
Room service calls.
Open up your hands and let me see the things you keep in there.
I want to split up fifty-fifty
That's the way we do it in this rogue's town.
I've got all the glory in the world
And I hope it doesn't floor you before you go,
Room service calls
In the random halls...Go!
Whenever, whenever, whenever,
whenever, whenever, whenever-ver-ver-ver I feel fine
I'm gonna walk away
From all this, all that.
The groovy, groovy kitty and little, little pity
With your splished (? ) watch in back
And skinny skinny people don't like that
When you call on them
Spell me.
Spritzer on ice in New York City
Isn't it a pity?
You never had anything to mix with that
Listen to the tender behind the open chest in the hall
Room service calls
I'm blue and green, green and bluuee
Whenever, whenever, whenever, whenene ne ne ne never ho
I feel fine, I'll walk the plank for you
I'll walk the plank
I wore your plank? for you in the d-d-d-d-dark
Of the captain (Seder row?)
Jacob, Jacob Javitz, I'd like to thank you for everything
Primarily your glass house
I'm workin' the ballin' stores 'n
I'm Kashmir wrap sellin'
Come along lads, join hands, 1. 2. 3. go!(guess, Levis, guess, Levis)
(Fun screaming)
The story it goes and (on)...

pavement's greatest song in my opinion
I've said it before, this is my top Pavement track, their prime ethos. The lighthearted wordplay. The jubilant feeling of freedom, the blabbering choruses. The Jacob Javits line ending the 2nd chorus is somehow sublime.. Just that way Malk casually delivers it.
this album is my generations "exile on main st.". misunderstood when it came out,but after time goes by it's true value is understood.
I love how nearly every song on this album (this one, FTG and Grave Architecture, etc.) devolves into a clusterfuck. If it hasn't already started there, that is.
+Jem S actually, the end of this one is more like Clustersuck.
Ahhh pavement.truly the chief keef of the 90s
my heart is made of gravy when i hear this song
This song is very underrated in my opinion.
I feel nostalgic for this song!.
I love it.
涙が・・・
🎉
For some reason I get really emotional when this song comes up on the album lol
Yeah, to me, song feels joyous, w a mix of yearning especially in the 2nd verse
A god awful MASTERPIECE! ❤
Primarily your glass house! < tragically sublime! Slacker till i die, although, Pavement worked their asses off to sound so chronically awesome! My favourite band! My youth gripped in a fist...but wait there is another lover THE MIGHTY FALL
pavement were a highly underrated band... think they still are
Wow, how fitting that the day I accidentally doubled my mediction would also be the fist time I understood this band....
Been singing this song all day. Came here to listen.
STEPHEN MALKMUS ON THE DRUMS, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
One of the best Pavement songs.
Wowee Zowee FTMFW
Well, I guess you're right. It received some bad reviews initially, like Weezer's Pinkerton, but after a good few years, all of the critics who said it "sucked" or wasn't "good" changed that to a "positive review".
I remember when this album came out, i played it, and played it, and everybody was panning it , and im like are you fucking kidding?
This is almost their best album- are you even listening? :)
+luap ekcol this is an amazing album. Rattled by the Rush will always be a personal fav song.
Oh also, lol you're old ;)
+David Jatt Well being old (44?) means that i got to see Pavement probably a dozen times, well...I can live with that.
luap ekcol I was joking. I discovered this album 10 years ago so it has a certain nostalgia for me too. :)
+David Jatt Kennel district is probably my fave, sung by spiral- who'd have thought?
love it when he yells near the end
1. 2. 3. Go! WAAAAAAAAHAAHAAAHOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAHAAHAAAAHOOOOOOOO
受験、仕事、その他もろもろで大失敗した時これを聴く。
全てがどうでもよくなって笑えてくる。俺の人生において重要な一曲。
Dude, why the fuck Pavement is so fucking cool? Gee, they're awesome.
Nem to acreditando que vou ver eles ao vivo em maio de 2024. To muito feliz.
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. Stoned. Listening to this tape. Yes.
i love this song and pavement
the one person who disliked was the heartbroken drunk guy. It was an accident tho.
now it is 7 people! I hope it doesn't floor them before they go.
I happen to be the archetypal heartbroken drunk guy and this is one of my favourite songs ever. 'I walk the plank for you in the d-d-d-daark', etc.
I love the fucked up fills that Malkmus throws in. This is a great tune, vintage Pavement.
this is their best.
hail Wowee Zowee!!!
好好听啊,真的是超级超级好听,我不行了,好听的受不了了
我好了
no entiendo lo que dice ahi, pero hola
Franco Vergara Hola! We’re all praising pavement anyway
@@deituna1107 yeah! :)
Buenas
pavement reunion next year!!!!!!!
Way wrong. Pavement's discography is universally acclaimed. This one was hailed as their most "mature" album or something like that.
I agree bud
rEMINDs me of portland OR ninety five, blasting out der vinyl while a vehicle crashed into a porch across the street and the GdEaD were in town at the Meadows, Memorial Day Weekend
spritzer on ice in new york city

Open up yr hands and let me see the things you keep in there
🤩
Christgau got this one right. It's one of the reasons I value his opinion at all.
Here's my entire childhood
Totally forgot about this group... I don't even remember how I got to this page
Same here!
best fucking pavement song ever
it is there best album no questions asked
@Jezuschrystus222 your opinion's totally right about that
@SuperRetardStation Yeah the funny thing about this album was when people started claiming Malkmus was just changing things up, he claimed "Nah, I just smoked a lot of grass"
Watching this in 2021, who else?
slacker rock never sounded so good, neither did poking fun at Oasis
How do they poke fun at Oasis? I'm not being contentious; I really don't know
This was recorded and released before Wonderwall
MY WIFE!
@esqu1m4l On your mark, Get set!! LET THE DRUNK DIALING BEGIN!!
@charlieenders indeed
@charlieenders crooked rain crooked rain
I'M DRUNK BUT I'M SO OLD IT WOULD BE SAD IF I PRETENDED I WAS 15 YEARS OLD.
FarmerDoom who cares haha
FarmerDoom h
I always understood: "skinny skinny People dont like that when you call on ´em ................... Spermium"
would be funny ... malkmus missed an opportunity
@h0merg0mez and on everything else
Skinny, skinny people don't like that
glad someone else thinks that guy's comment is incredibly lame
Sounds like Gallaghers ripped some melody for Wonderwall.
Not even close lol
Can someone please direct me to a bad pavement song?
ANYONE??? Nah @Chase not possible
Brinx job sucks ass man
1 person likes Verizon.
odidiu,
Pavement are critics favorites.
fuuuuucckkk
No need to be a spelling nazi, a lot of these people don't speak English as their first language.
whatever
drunks with guns kinda sucks and some of the really early stuff is a bit wearing, but essentially, no.
why the fuck is it so quiet
this shit is slowed down lol
Ok, alright.... I LIKED THE DRUNK COMMENT! SUE ME!
