Genius move choosing Tracer, a character with time based powers, to ask a question related to how messed up the Overwatch time frame is. That's pretty funny.
Honestly, Kiriko didn't need to be directly related to the Shimada brothers. I mean, we could have had another Japanese hero who doesn't have ties to either Genji or Hanzo. Maybe Kiriko could have been a shrine maiden protecting her hometown from foes like the Shimada clan.
The funny thing is her age is irrevelant in regards to her design. Kiriko by lore is blessed by the fox spirit, which makes her 100% healthy and basically immune to any form of negative physical changes. She couldnt develop wrinkles or bags, no gray hairs either. She would look basically look the same no matter how old she was. So theres no reason to not have her age be around Genji and Hanzo.
I mean even then, 30’s isn’t exactly ancient, someone in excellent care without the fox spirit could still look youthful, and the fox spirit could enhance that. Problem was Blizzard wants Kiriko to a spunky teenager. At the expense of the story.

It’s a symptom a lot of writers have, somehow they lose track and fuck up the ages. For example, in avatar the last airbender, they never intended to have Avatar Kyoshi to be around 200 years old. But they fucked up the timeline and they accident made her be that old, so they said fuck it yeah, Avatar’s can live for a long time.

Me and my friend decided to go through and reage them to what we thought felt right (like how they made widowmaker 35 when she was married to a friend of solider76 and reaper who are in their 60s so we agreed she shouldn't be younger then 40, still a fairly large age gap it made us feel better)

That only explain there body biologically aging at different rates and even that's a stretch but it doesn't explain there yearly age on paper like how long they have been around on record.
