the last settings you made on the cathedra is so good wow
Thank you. For me, this has been the most useful and enjoyable demos of the M7. Edit: Been listening more this morning & just ordered one. Thanks again!
How are you liking it man?! Been deciding between this and possibly a few others.
@@joshbabbitt9243 Unfortunately i've not yet used it. Not even been out of the box. But since getting it i've been listening to loads of different reverb pedal demos & i'm wondering if the M7 might be a little too clean/hifi for my needs. Hopefully soon i'll get to figure that out for real. What other pedals are you considering?
@@TheFutureThoughtTapestries haha, I feel your pain man! Yeah, the M7 does have a pretty hi-fi sound/feel to it. It does seem it could get gritty though.
@@TheFutureThoughtTapestries some others I was looking at were some simple and not so simple verbs...
@@TheFutureThoughtTapestries was looking at the Slö/Fathom/R1, SA Ventris, OBNE Procession, Immerse, Keeley Omni. Surely a few others. There's just so much to choose from these days, lol.
Really want to see you demo/compare the Source Audio Ventris
I love setting the pitch vector to about 10 o'clock and then hitting/holding the swell button, it makes the most beautiful pitch dive.
My only complaint about this pedal are the noisy/rattly footswitch buttons, they are much looser than any other pedal I have.
Thanx for doing this!
I don't know why I bother with any reverb demos other than yours. I learn exactly what I want to know from yours. In your opinion Ryan, which stereo reverb can get me 80s rack-ish plate and hall tones with some impression of headroom ?
great video. Thanks a lot. Best demo of the pedal IMO
Just wondering to myself if patience for the CXM (more expense) or this Mercury 7? I wonder what kind of marketing info the guys at Meris had that led them to bring about the CXM with Chase Bliss following this cool pedal. This morning I hear both sounds and I weigh how each choice leads me down a different path. Not sure in this moment, but a good decision to contemplate.
I agree about them both being cool pedals. I see the advantage of smaller hall sizes and lower but rate for lofi sampling in the CXM. Obviously its totally different as an automatone, and very expensive. But, the one thing keeping me away from the M7 is that the Cathedra can't be dialed back to classic hall sounds - smaller and medium halls, and not as clean sounding. I'm looking for guitar but im sure M7 is amazing for synth users.
Beautiful demo. I think i will trade my Immerse MKII for the M7
What did you end up doing or going with over your Immerse? Curious to hear and see what you're liking. 😊
Great pedal reviews. It would be great to see a hall shootout with Ventris and M7 shorter decay times without vibrato. Can the Meris get usable hall sounds in Cathedra program?
Omg. This might be better for me than Big sky.
@Ismael Jalen I think you are lost, go where they will explain to you the reasons for jealousy and what to do so that it does not damage your relationship. This is not the place. Here, however, you can find out what to do at home to make the sound from the synthesizer sound like in a huge, endless space. Did you understand me Lost Sir Small Spaces (you can still enlarge them with Mercury 7)
@Dee Macbeth read sentence bellow, together with your frend @Ismael Jalen
This Is the best reverb pedal on market in your opinion? Thanks!
Nice, but no $$. I think I'll go Walrus SLO... similar, similar in a lot of ways, and I can finance it 😄. Thanks for the demo, good as always.
Ryan Great video as always my friend :D!,have you tried the polymoon yet?,I absolutely LOVE mine :D!!
thank you! :) I haven't yet, I'm loving these pedals though! Mercury7 is the first I've tried.. all the others are on my list though :D
@@RyanLutton You will love it! hahah.I wish all pedal company's sent you stuff to demo, you do it 100% perfect!Keep up the awesome job my friend.
I've had Big Sky and Empress Reverb. This is better than both.
Damn really?! I love my Empress tape echo and always thought the Empress reverb would be the best! Hard to believe this is better but I’m starting to believe it. This pedal (mercury7) sounds so cathartic!
@@drewg3087 yeah man. The empress reverb is too artificial. Just doesn't please me. Big Sky is better than Empress and for many years I believed that Big Sky was the best Reverb Pedal however I'm starting to think I was wrong. I have a Lexicon PCM96 and that's my reference when it comes to Reverb. I haven't tried the Chase Bliss CXM yet but something tells me that it's pretty similar to this since the same guy from Merris is behind the CXM
@@ivoleary6332 thanks for the quick reply. I have a wet stereo reverb, fathom, hardwire rv-7, stargazer (which isn’t as great as I was hoping), empress tape echo, ghost echo, and probably one or two I’m forgetting. So I’m a reverb and delay addict obviously, this seems to be the one to trade into as the tops deep space workstation! 🚀
@@drewg3087 Cool setup. How did you like the Stargazer? Ive heard about but never tried.
@@ivoleary6332 I’ve only tried it a couple times, need to try it a little more but it’s a little too shimmery for me and I have hand painted V1. Maybe v2 is better cause you can use both sides. I’m planning on using on acoustic or selling it and an overdrive and get a Meris Mercury7. Obsessed with the walrus fathom right now amd can’t wait to try the Hardwire rv-7, and have used the empress tape echo for years. GAS never ends!
I kinda don't think the pedal sounds all that. I dunno... hard to tell.... in some ways though this is the most "honest" demo of it out there I think... some of the other demos are too layered and don't give you a true impression of the pedal.
I think the Big Sky and Ventris sound way better on their respective 'huge plate' and 'huge hall' type modes.
I appreciate you saying you think its the most honest demo you've seen on the pedal, thank you! I know a guy who just got a BigSky and was disappointed, thats the thing with demos its hard to tell if you will like actually like a pedal if you base your decision on someone else playing with it.. not to mention all the other variables haha! always better to try these things out first but a lot of people can't sadly! thanks for the comment Drew! :)
Actually, if you use the ultraplate and dial down the space decay setting, you have a pretty mellow hall or plate sound. With just a touch of space you get a good room. What's cool is you can now add modulation, pitch to the decay/trails, and tweak the high/low freq's to get the sound you want. It's a deceptively deep pedal with a ton of different sounds to be had. The only reverb I'd stack up with it is the Eventide Space--and that's only because there's so many algo's on there, you're bound to find something usable (and, of course, Blackhole).
Does anyone wanna buy a reflecting pool? Lol this petal seems incredible.
The Mercury 7 is lush.
Lush = plentiful, savoury, delicious, opulent, sumptuous, luxuriant, luscious, exquisite, sensual, plenitudinous, exuberant. Damn you. I have enough pedals, or so I thought until this.
I bought this and I really want to like it... but it’s too shimmery, feels too “new age”
Is there another high end pedal that can pull out afterneath or tera echo type sounds?
Luis Sutil for the price of this why not get both the Afterneath and Tera Echo.
Or Get a Boss DD200 or DD500 then.
Luis Sutil Eventide has amazing reverb algorithms. H9 has them.
Eventide Blackhole and Mangled are my fave.
Strymon BigSky / BlueSky could be an option.
Tbh I’d rather have a Mercury7 for the over the top reverb it has. And another reverb for more “simpler” reverbs such as spring, plate, hall etc.
Source audio Ventris can do that
2 people have given thumbs down 👇 what's up with them hahahaha they must be fricking deaf
