  • It's about time! So much has changed since the last house tour and now ... we're moving! This will be one of the last videos filmed in this home... 😭
Also, yes, I know 730sq ft might seem big to some people. But for a house in Canada, with 2 adults, 2 crazy toddlers, and one cat, we are quickly outgrowing it. We are thankful for our little home and it breaks our hearts to say goodbye 💔

I live in the US, born here as well. I don’t understand why people want these huge houses. Expensive to build, maintain and higher utilities. My wife and I, even with kids, always keep going smaller. Getting ready to build our final retirement house ourselves at 400sf. The only thing that I would change with this house is how closed off the kitchen is, and open it up.

The layout makes a difference size wise. We just moved from a 1000 square foot house to 900. The new house feels bigger. The basement height makes a difference for sure. We had a similar height to yours, and now have another foot. We went from a 1 1/2 story house with low ceilings upstairs to a bungalow with an open concept kitchen/living room so it feels so much more spacious. Your house is lovely!

Your current house is huge! Lived in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom duplex for 6 years. 4 of us! Our kitchen was half the size of yours, the cellar was only a garage and tiny laundry room. We had no entry way, 1 tiny closet, and our living room was half your size. I could have made your house a permanent home for decades. We did finally move, because we now have 6 kids, 2 biological, 4 adopted and in process to adopt up to 2 more. Our current home, 5 tiny bedrooms ( 1 of the rooms is a converted laundry room) and 2.5 baths is almost 2,700 sq and with garage closer to 3,000. Our neighbors who have 2 kids feel their house, same as ours is too small..we feel as a family of 8 and still growing, we fit fine. But, I personally hate big homes! My current home is too big for me, would prefer to go back down to 1/2 the size if I could. Though, for 15 years, we have done everything at home, from work, church, school, exercising, haircutting, recreation, etc it's all done here...so this amount if space is perfect. But ya, love your home better imho...as smaller houses are the best!

My parents sleep in the living room, still, after 30 years 😅 and me and 2 of my siblings all lived in one bedroom together (i shared a bed with my sis until she moved out). And that was the case for every working class family with kids, so you definetly can make it work 😅

My bathroom is bigger than yours but my kitchen is galley style and much smaller. I am so envious you can have a wrap around couch. Our set up just doesn't allow for it. You have done such a great job decorating though. I love your windows! We do not have ANY window in our entire house that allows enough light for plants. We can only have snake plants. I thought you would be taller than me (I’m 5’3). It may be because of the way you dress yourself. You wear a lot of high-waisted stuff, which makes your legs look longer. This is not a bad thing. LOVE IT 😍 I’m in 506 square feet (in southern Alberta!) With my boyfriend and we love it. The ONLY thing I wish we had was maybe one more room for an office but we manage just fine. I’m sad they don’t make small homes anymore, we don’t want more than 800 square feet but that’s nearly impossible to find newer. Most smaller homes are getting up there in age 🙁

Well I guess you’re all settled in your new home...I just discovered you! I came to the point where you have a basket on your shelf. I remember one like that, passed around in Sunday School for the offering, lol. Love your sign too! May the Lord continue to bless you on your journey!❤️ John 3:16

My first house had one small storage cupboard. So jealous of all the basement storage. We had a kitchen, living room, 1 bathroom and 3 bedrooms. It would be a pretty big house in the uk. We had to use one bedroom for storage. Good luck moving

I brought our first house (also small home) based on the big tree in the backyard . We still miss that tree even though we moved 3 years ago.

I wish I had enough space for a sectional! We have a fire on one wall, window and door on another, radiator on the next then a door on the other 😅

Is the basement area included in the 730 square feet? I’m so confused because my house is just over 1000 square feet but I swear your house is bigger 😂

Thank you for the tour. God bless you in your new home. On camera, this home looks to be much larger than 730 sq ft, given that you have a basement that is the mirror image of upstairs. I think a good contractor could give upstairs an open plan concept. Considering cost may be a factor, the next owner(s) can make it uniquely their own if they so desire. The basement was surprising ... quite a lot of space to be utilized in so many ways. ❤

It’s not always plausible depending on how the water and electricity was run in a house. I work for a general contractor. Also a basement with a low ceiling height just can’t be corrected.

Oh thats where Winstons litter is!! Lol. And you DO have a second bathroom wow!! Our home is about that size and we plan on staying here forever. We do have luxuries like two mini bathrooms, and a Wood burner. Also a steamer oven I have never ever used. I'm also not sure where to put the eventual second child.

Our apartment is 800sf and your house looks a lot bigger, I guess its all about the layout!
