The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.”
The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka,” “Call Me by Your Name”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Malcolm & Marie,” “Euphoria”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning”), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Avengers: End Game,” “Milk”), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis,” “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood”), Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Black Widow,” “Little Women”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Thor: Love and Thunder”), Oscar winner Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter,” “Hairspray”), Léa Seydoux (the “James Bond” franchise and “Crimes of the Future”), Souheila Yacoub (“The Braves,” “Climax”), with Stellan Skarsgård (the “Mamma Mia!” films, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”).
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.

Austin Butler stole the show with his performance in Dune. He played Feyd-Rautha with such cold, callous, calculated brutality. Absolutely brilliant performance. What a versatile actor. I hope he explores more roles with complexity like this in the future.

Definitely fits his touch of vanity despite sharing a similar appearance to other Harkonnens and their forces. And he is still “beautiful” in a traditional sense which makes his savage displays even more fun to watch

He is an amazing method actor. All of Hollywood and beyond love him. Amazing work ethic and a GREAT actor. Sick of people calling him Elvis. Was smart of him to make his voice so different in this movie. No way can they say he sounds like Elvis. Too many haters out there

What I enjoyed most from Denis’ portrayal of his version of Feyd was finding a very handsome and softer-looking guy like Austin, but Austin has that very deep, rough, and dominating voice which contrasts nicely with said character’s design and persona:
Here, you have visually the melding of the standard enlightened, pale, bald, hyper-intelligent, Extraterrestrial-look and archetype juxtaposed to the brutal, savage, cunning, psychopathic, and primitive, primate psychology of the Human Id.
Together, that is Feyd-Rautha, and the director and actor pulled it off.

All I had to see was the trailer in theaters and I was sold on Austin Butler playing Feyd-Rautha. Not only does he look the part, but just from the small parts that show Feyd's cruelty and sadism, you can tell Butler is absolutely killing it in the role. And that fight scene with Paul looks INCREDIBLE. And that's where my focus is going to be on the most, because both Feyd-Rautha and Paul are the future of both their houses, and on top of being the same age, they are both equal in skill, strength, and intuition as fighters. I need to see them fight on equal ground before Paul overcomes him.
I'm just learning now that Bill Skarsgård and Austin Butler are two different people...

If you read the book written by the navigator Crosby in Masters of the Air after the war, he describes Cleven, Buck, as a good example of a Hollywood bomber pilot. He said he spoke with a kind of cowboy drawl, wore a silk scarf, didn’t say too much, and had charisma. He wrote that Buck and Bucky were the best pilots in the unit until Rosenthal arrived and all the younger pilots wanted to be like them. So perhaps it is not that he is still Elvis but that he is playing the role as it should be. Who knows.
