- The follow-up to the Tbow inferno teaching stream, here is an example of a BOFA run! I didn't bother buying an ahrim's top but that could easily work instead of ancestral top. Staff of the dead gives that 15% damage bonus over master wand at the cost of no auto cast. Nightmare staff or kodai are obviously better, but if you don't have these staff of the dead does the job.

Thank you Gnomonkey!! Got the cape last week after about 40 runs, 6 Zuk attempts. For anyone trying for that first cape, you WILL get it if you persevere.
I literally can't get past even mid wave 40's. I'm flicking properly it's just there's too much to handle at once. Also it takes so long to get into the further waves and I lose focus.. and coming back after a break doesn't help.

@@renjiaow3742 Most of the people in these comments didn't actually get their cape legitimately man it's ok. Literally the only people that get this cape are autists like the creator here. No offense to him, he seems genuinely nice and a good person but if you don't have that special type of focus and good hand genetics you won't get your cape without buying it like 99% of the OSRS population. Actually I take that back, 80% of them bought it and the other 19% used a cheat client. Best of luck to you my man.

I literally just got my inferno cape. Just wanted to say the Zuk advice to just kill the boss was unironically good advice. I didn't slow down at all, just dpsed the boss and only got 1 set and my cape! Huge props to this video

Half an hour ago I clicked boss, he died and I got my first cape. Through the attempts, the inferno has become favourite video game challenge ever. Great guide my dude, it helped me get my inferno cape within 10 or so runs. You did a great job teaching fundamentals and showing how they are applied. It was entertaining and drilled into my head two facts of life “fuck that pillar my life is more important” and “KILL ZUK”
awesome content, I've watched many of your vids and the thing I like most is that you tell it as it is. Right out of the gate on wave 4 you explain the importance of learning 1 tick cycling prayers, which is used so much in the later waves. Before I saw your vid I was trying to "cheese" the inferno, little secret it's not something you can really cheese lol. The biggest thing I still have trouble with is quickly solving the later waves , which will only come from experience. You make it look so easy, but watching how you handle some of the bad spawns def helps. I'll get the cape soon enough because of your content, thank you Gnomonkey.
i have a friend who cheesed it with max gear in 14 hours without a guide. He's an exception though.

Thank you for your Inferno guides Gnomonkey! You, Aaty, and Lola helped me tremendously on my infernal cape journey. I think I got my cape quicker than average, but after only 9 days, 15 attempts, and 3 Zuk’s, I finally achieved it!! I think I would’ve gotten it on my first if not second Zuk if I had enough supplies to get through the fight as I wasn’t offticking mager/ranger sets.

Corner safespotting is a very useful thing to use in the inferno. Funnily enough, I learned how to corner trap npcs by practicing it at giant mole lol

I'm still working on the inferno now (last attempt died to a ranger just before healer phase of Zuk). Your guide has been really helpful, but I especially like your snarky comments regarding nibblers and the Zuk fight. Things like "Oh no, but the west pillar! It's going down!" and "Wait, no, but you forgot about the set timer!" are the types of things that go through my head as a beginner. Your emphasis on just keeping it simple is practically helpful and also very motivating.

just watched the Zuk part. 6+ attempts at Zuk on my main, never got past healers. Watched your Zuk on my GIM and just kept thinking "KILL KILL KILL" I am now the proud owner of a real infernal cape, tyvm!

Edit: after getting rigour i went back to the inferno and got it on my 12th attempt,shocked it only took 2 tries after rigour

@@velzun8075 made it to zuk and the sets just did too much damage, not having rigour made shit take too long for the brews I had left, died to 3rd set. Haven't been back since trying to get rigour

You're a hero Gnomonkey. Just got my infernal Cape today after my 5th Zuk attempt, your stream helped me solved waves flawlessly 4 times in a row.
Around how many times did you die learning waves? If you had to guess. (trying to get a gauge of what I'm about to get myself into on a non maxed account)

Probably looking around 50 in total. I died to triple 3 times by being stupid (I killed 2 of them, brewed and then bonked jad with auto cast unavailable)
Zuk on my 5th attempt, by my final attempt I had cleared the waves 4 times in a row.
Zuk is actually quite easy, I died to the healers three times by being bad at BP walk.
You're looking at a month grind depending on your skill, the hardest part is the waves but sometimes you can get spooned spawns. The biggest advice I can give you is drink yellow while learning, and if you have a bad spawn and bad nibbler freeze just ignore nibblers. You shouldn't need to run south ever tbh

Hey man your guide has helped me alot so far so ty. could you maybe compile alot of your footage and make a video showing how to solve hard spawn possibilities on the hard waves? It would make it easier for us who panic when we immediately get attacked by 2 attack styles.
I'm currently paused at triples. This guide has helped me tons when I get home from work I'm sending gl me!! I have 4 brews 4 restores left, you used 2 restores for single jad triples and zuk with camping rigour granted u got a one set zuk. But im gonna go on as confident as i can and hopefully complete. Ill edit post with update tonight!

@@GnomonkeyRS bro I was goin so well! I was on pace for 1 set doing the CLICK BOSS method I chased one of jads healers cuz somehow barrage didn't get it and ran out of shield n got koed. So saddddd. My adrenaline was pumping tho next zuk the capes mine!. -edit also triple jads was a lot easier than I thought as well-
@@GnomonkeyRS just got the cape!!! Second zuk and almost 1 settled as well zuk was like 120 hp when 2nd set came and that's cuz I missed bunch of ticks being safe cuz I didn't wanna fuck up n die but man I'm so happy yours and aatykons bowfa videos helped me tremendously

Great vid. Lot of useful info for me even after getting to zuk 3 times. Just curious why you suggest to not use SGS? I get that people shouldn’t be camping specs with SGS, but is it not better to bring instead of a restore/brew and just use specs when I have them? Also, I understand Eldritch is OP for prayer but it’s also like 250m. Would you recommend SGS for someone who doesn’t have spare 250m around or just bring an extra restore/brew instead?

Glad to see this video! With all the changes to gear lately, could you do a first cape gear preference update video? There are just a few things still confusing, like boot slot (guardians or pegs), shield slot (ward or crystal) and helm slot (justy or crystal).
I can pitch in on that,i only have 3kc so im far from expert
But its all boils down to your preference budget and gear,i did my first cape with suffering, devout boots,and crystal armour+shield,at the end you want to maximize defense and prayer at first and then shift into dps as you get more comfortable
Is this still possible without the ancestral/pegs/gloves, and max stats? Not high enough for ice barrage only burst, mid 80s stats except 96 range. I'm sure I'll be far off from getting this done but this video gives me confidence i may have a chance!!
So ive been trying to do the inferno again except I'm noticing inconsistencies with my flicking the mage ranger stack. I follow an exact metronome but my prayer will sometimes just lag and delay itself and then I die. This is incredibly frustrating considering that its mandatory to even clear this. Not sure what I can do if I just die to either a dead click or my prayer delaying even when I know I clicked and saw it light up.
on wave 55 i was south of the north piller then mager spawned to my left and ranger spawned to my right and blob was south of my piller and i died tried to go east of the piller i killed the blob but then mager instantly spawned it and i got comboed was i just unlucky and didnt have a way out or was there anyway i could have solved the wave ???

99% sure blob would still see you, their range is like 15 tiles

You had solo nibblers on south pillars a few times but chose maging the first and ranging the second. What goes into the decision making there? Also why do you relog towards the end
Could you make a picture diagram with where you can phantom and how to set up if the blob is in a position where you can't? Would be nice to have it readily available during a run

Blood barrage travels like a projectile. Don't you remember a scenario where you were hitting an npc far away with a range weapon and you could still get an extra hit in even though they died? Same concept with barrage.

I didn't even consider SOTD for my slayer tasks that ive been going for recently. With the new rune pouch and waters it seems to be the exact same as kodai. Does the 'no autocast' make that much of a difference? Because I set my auto for ice barrage as long as I am ffull health that way I can barrage bad melee/bat spawns in a decent time.
The only time you should autocast is for healing, and it's really not necessary

@@naocl-mobilegaming8377 I seriously considered the nightmare staff when I was picking out my mage wep for my current Zuk task, the only reason I didn't was because I couldn't afford eldritch along with it without selling gear. Kodai has served me well over the last 3 kills so I figured I would keep it a bit longer to keep running tasks. The auto cast is definitely a must for me right now. I sometimes chase nibs will flicking, and pray flick while I am healing. As soon as I can get an eldritch the nightmare staff will be the obvious choice though.
May I ask what is the plugin you are using to have the tile underneath the Inferno NPCs with the 'brain' on it?
The NPC indicator plugin has an option to "highlight southwest tile".

At 24:35 how did you know the blob read you at a random prayer? I guess my question is how do you know when they read your prayer
@34:23 Why does that blob move north/south when you move to the west side of the pillar but won't do it on the east side of the pillar? Shouldn't the pillar block its north/south movement completely?
You mean when I move east? It's a corner trap, if you get out of the way the monsters pathfinding now has an option besides go through pillar at you, which is move north/south

You took 12 from a ranged hit from Jad at 99 hp lul. That dead click at the end lul. The facial expression and the oh well into the oh shit im not dead.

1:03:00 - Question. never done inferno. In your example, the mage is in the back of the stack so you turn on pray mage and attack bc the mage will see you first. Im assuming in the event that the mage is in the front of the stack, and I want to kill it first, it is OKAY to click it and path east of the pillar - so long as i start with the range pray first when alternating, since the ranger is the one in the back of the stack. Or does going to the east of the pilalr invite a totally different situation? i'm attempting my first run in a week or two, and I LOVE THIS VIDEO. Super helpful!!
Or I guess you just pray range and click the west tile then attack mage and start alternating.... answered my own question I think

One thing I dont understand is why SGS isn't used at all. Can you explain why it is bad if you don't use it as a crutch? It seems like it would just give you more room to use prayer throughout the cape by speccing with it whenever you get enough for it.
No melee gear makes it really weak (typically worse than a restore), eldritch is great though

isn't kodai wand + ahrims top better then ancestral+staff of dead given that the first costs like 50m less almost while having +58 magic attack and the ancestral and toxic staff is +60, but the ahrims top has better defense?
How do you kill things and they just disappear? Even though their tiles are still there or do their death animation.

When you are alternating prayers like at 52:32, how do you know when to switch the prayers? Do you switch to range prayer before the mage initiates his attack, or when his attack lands on you?

@GnomonkeyRS thank you, is there a source for information on which bosses hits are calculated on contact or when the attack is initiated? I know the dt2 bosses are calculated on impact?
Also, how do you know which prayer to start with? I'm confused on how you know whether to start on range or mage.
Always mage after first magers frog (35?), because it's max hit is fair greater and Masori/BofA have high range defense with crystal shield.
