Tomoe nage BJJ stance, RvL

  • This is my Tomoe nage for BJJ stance. Different rule sets shape the way we grapple. In this instance, we have a RvL (Right vs Left) situation against a stiff arming opponent with their hips back. I use the fake uchimata as a tool to create a timing differential in order to go underneath. If I just drop, the opponent can simply drop with me.

    Conservation of angular momentum is beautiful. Coil up your body as you spin, bringing mass closer to the axis, and you spin faster due to a smaller moment of inertia. Physics is awesome.
    It's cool to think that the same principles governing the speed of orbiting planets also govern this sick tomoe nage. Fantastic video, sir :)

    I love the roll of shoulder tactic I think it makes a lot of difference. I used to use it for high grips but never used it in that regular lapel grip. Awesome Channel thank you.

    My favorite throw for practicality/power is the seoi nage... But for looks... Tomoe nage is the king!
    Not that tomoe nage isnt practical... But the cool factor is waaaaaaay higher

    Excellent explanation!! Thank you for this video! Mr. Shintaro, would the "Georgian Grip" takedowns be a good option in this situation?

    • @Shigashi84
      @Shigashi84  5 лет назад +1

      you are very welcome! Can be for certain. Depends on how good their takedowns are and how well you know the Georgian grip series.

    Huge Points for using the right word! Centripetal Force! when people say "Centrifugal Force " I lose faith in their understanding of physics.

    Breakfalling is so important. I did judo and bjj for about 4 years and it ruined my back. Every breakfall counts. A few missed breakfalls and you might have to give up what you love doing

    • @Shigashi84

      I didn't do it specifically for the low stance. But here is the regular uchimata. Maybe I will make another one. ruclips.net/video/qnMoNfZ2WiU/видео.html

    • @Shigashi84

      Tomoe nagi is hard to do no gi. Sumi gaeshi would be a better option

    I'm sure this works, but no one stands like that in BJJ.. Hold someones lapel that his higher than your own shoulder? Just standing like that now in front of the computer shows how freaking awkward that is

    • @nickelmanful
      @nickelmanful 8 месяцев назад

      Yet there are countless videos of bjj players standing exactly like that
