Why did I make this video ? Before I address that, here's how the NIBE Fighter 360P works.
'NIBE FIGHTER 360P consists of an electric boiler, a heat pump and a maintenance-free hot water heater. Energy is recovered from the ventilation exhaust air and fed to the heating system and/or the water heater. NIBE FIGHTER 360P is designed for low temperature radiators and underfloor heating systems'
London Boiler Company are London's largest independent installer of Electric Boilers, from many years of experience we know what works and what doesn't work, because of this we will only install systems that are efficient but more importantly, that are very reliable.
You will NOT see a NIBE Electric Boiler installed in a member of the publics home as they are primarily installed in Local Authorities, Housing Associations or Private Landlord Partnerships. They are well known not to be reliable, see links in the description (further down) for TV Consumer Reporting addressing some of the issues.
A customer called us today with a Faulty NIBE Fighter 360P. we called NIBE for some technical advice.
NIBE said NO - unless you come on our course, I enquired how I get on a course, the sales rep is going to call me back. (lets see)
I asked when NIBE Fighter 360P was in production and when they stopped making it - Answer, They stopped making it 8-9years ago, they didn't know when the production started, which I find odd.
They made it very clear that I would not be able to get past speaking to the receptionist unless i had taken a course. NO OTHER BOILER MANUFACTURER DOES THIS, every manufacturer provides a caveat they are NOT responsible for the advice they dispense.
I asked how much a NIBE Charge for a service callout, its approx £420 (not sure if this is plus or inc vat)
If you ever replace a NIBE Boiler this is what you do -
Install a Heatrae Sadia Electric Boiler which will heat up your radiators or underfloor heating
Install a Direct Unvented Hot Water Cylinder and a timer to use cheaper rate overnight electrciaty to heat up the Cylinder.
This System is efficient but more importantly super super reliable, the only thing that is likely to go wrong is the immersion heater will fail in 2-4 years due to lime-scale, fit a water softener and this extends the life of the immersion heater.
We have an unvented cylinder in our office + it supplies a property next door where 2 people live full time, the cylinder was fitted in 2013 along with a water softener, to date we have never replaced the immersion heater elements.

While an electric boiler is simple, reliable (presumably cheap to buy) and 100% efficient (ie there is NO wasted heat energy being lost out of any exhaust of flue vent), it is also INCREDIBLY expensive to run during the day, costing typically at least 12 pence per "kilo-Watt-hour" of electrical energy consumed. This compares with a gas-boiler which is only about 80% efficient, but costs only about 30% of an electric boiler to deliver the same amount of heat!! (ie requires only about 3.6 pence per kilo-Watt-hour of heat energy (from the gas) after the boiler efficiency has been accounted for). Even with a 20% rise in the price of gas over winter 2021, the gas boiler would still cost only 36% of the cost of an electric boiler for the same heat output into the house!

I used to have one of these and it was very expensive to run. The pump went wrong and the housing association installed a brand new model, which seems amazing. it costs hardly anything to run.

      How about entering 2022?
Ever thought of insulating your house, like the rest of us did some 50(!!!) years ago, instead of nagging and clinging to the useless "stiff upper lip" mode?

Amazed anyone can afford direct electrical heating, when a modern heat pump should be delivering 200-350% effective efficiency

Notice who we're dealing with. Stubbornly outdated British people simply don't accept reality ...
Seems like they want to be in opposition to real world issues, never mind the costs. 🤷🏼
Take notice and let them head into next disaster 🙄

If the engineer knows what they're doing it should be 350-500% efficient

I have one of these boilers and the cost of running it is insane. I’m currently at home with it off or I’d be spending £200 a month alone just in electric and It breaks every 2 minutes. I hate it.

How old is it actually, and which maintenance were spend on it?
No technic runs without maintenance ...
      Not even in mighty UK

Simply unbelievable anyone recommending electrical heating in this day and age, when even northern Norway and Sweden use heat pumps, since ~ 20 years..!
A questionable product doesn't exclude a technology ... Like a RuZZian crap Lada doesn't make cars useless. Choose quality, pay the price and enjoy the comfort!

The housing stock ie age and build quality and use of insulation is very different to UK stock houses
