Absolutely fantastic tip Rena, this solution worked a treat. I have been pulling my hair out trying to work out how to get rid of the banding on my color prints using matt paper on my Epson. I have searched the Epson FAQs with absolutely no indication or solution to remove banding such as this.... way to go tks heaps. BTW I am now using the glossy setting on the printer for everything I print, it works without any banding what so ever... tks again.

Honestly this was the most helpful video I have ever watched. I finally fixed that stupid banding issue and it was all in the settings on the printer and the computer. I changed the settings in my WF2850 by going to advanced settings , hitting HIGH quality and then changed it on the printer itself and viola! You are a genius! Thank you 💯

You're the bomb Serena!!!! I was only checking the paper setting on the printer like you were, but as soon as i changed the setting in printer preferences on the computer, WOW, it came out perfect. I am only printing black and white on my current project, but I can totally tell the difference in quality, just like you did. Man, i wasted so much time and paper, ARGH! Your video was really helpful. I recently started sublimation printing and I had lines and dull colors. Changing the paper on the laptop and not the printer itself seemed to help and make the colors much brighter. Thank you!
Wow....thank you so much...this was my solution on the WF7720....I send the first one for warranty because of this issues with white lines..this was so clever....I can play with the settings and get more or less from my colors....really great...blessings for you!
I been dealing with this for over year.. cleaning and doing all the maintenance .. Finally decided to look on line and yours is the first one I saw.. I am trying the alignments now.. Hoping it works.. these Printers are not cheap to start having issues shortly after buying it

Sometimes the updates can affect the printer. Keep working with your settings. 1 sided vs 2. The type of paper chosen. For some crazy reason when I chose 2sided, I get the lines back when I print on plain paper. So I print on premium matte when I print on 2 sided. Crazy, I know. Look over your advanced settings as well. Check out some of my other printer videos. Hope they can help as well!
Hello Serena.I had the same problem with printing my music Theory lessons .Also some portraits I printed in colour.Black & White sheet music was very dull. This was on my newly acquired Epson ET 2760 printer. So I will follow your instructions in the next couple of days and see if I get the result.HR.
Hope it works. It’s all about your settings and how they match between computer and printer. Sometimes I put both on premium matte paper setting even if I’m using plain paper to saturate the paper and give a more vivid finish.
Thank You So Very Much!!! I was plagued with those white lines... I took the casing off to clean the printer heads etc and I wasn't careful. The cable for the scanner came out, where the notice 100016 comes up and the printer won't run. I wasn't able to put the cable back in and had to take it to a repair shop. Then I reordered new ink, but I thought before I would clean it again as two colors weren't showing. I pulled the magenta and the cyan carriages out. I didn't exactly know how to extract the ink. Put everything back and did 3 nozzle check and my colors were back. As the White Lines. Did a search for White Lines and your video came up... I changed the paper settings to Matte and no lines.... You a Amazing Miracle... I don't know why I had to go through so much drama.. I have bookmarked your site in case I see the question of White Lines. ATYSM!

Thank you for posting this discovery. My Epson NX415 is many years old and worked great until recently. I'm wondering if the latest drivers are causing these problems. So I changed different paper types on my computer like your video showed. I changed to matte paper then glossy. The matte setting gave the richest colors but it would print slow. Then I selected plain paper again and the lines were gone. Problem solved!

Thank you So much for posting this!! I just bought an Epson printer yesterday evening and have been trying to figure out since last night. Did everything it tells me to do and still see lines. Waited overnight hoping the machine will absorb the ink lol, but still the same results!! I was so about to take this printer back to Target!!!! Decided to give it a final try looking for something totally different. You saved my time and my day and now I’m so happy!!!
I have two Epson printers. The WF-4630, which I'm still using and the same one with dual paper trays of which the model escapes me (I did an Office Space to it when it wouldn't even attempt to print with brand new cartridges). I am not impressed with Epson printers based on my experience. On the WF-4630 I'm experiencing horizontal banding which none of the usual fixes help. I'm close to getting out the baseball bat for some practice on it.
Have you tried making sure the printer and computer settings are the same when it comes to the paper selection? Since you have 2 printers, try checking to see which one is chosen as the default and in printer preferences. Also, sometimes with the automatic updates my default printer gets switched to offline. Hope these tips helps.
Hi. To be honest I have never used sublimation paper, so I would not know the paper choice for sure. For most of my printing on sticker paper, I used the premium setting to get the best color, however it does run your ink o it faster.
Try this: on your printer and computer set your paper to premium matte even if your using plain paper. Make sure it’s on 1-sided. This works for me sometimes. Don’t know why, but it does.
for sublimation paper what should the paper choice be on nothing matches my epson wf-7720 and silhouette program. if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
I have a silhouette portrait 2 machine and the software that comes with it. Silhouette studios. For my printer it’s just the automatic updates that come with the printer when you connect to the internet. Hope that helped.
@@Renarocs I have 9 thin, horizontal lines where the ink is more saturated. I can't make art print like that. I have cleaned it three times yesterday and the 4 is the best picture but they all look like shit honestly
I don’t have that model so I can’t say for sure. With epson printers they usually work best if the setting match on computer and printer. There are exceptions depending on the settings chosen. 1 sided vs 2 and the paper type chosen. I have to adjust these setting to get my printer to print without lines.
My printer is a brothers printer. Yes white lines or colors lines that are too dark and you can tell on the printable vinyl but everything else prints just fine I think it mite be just the printable vinyl or the fact that I need a computer to fix this like you showed in the video cuz I tried everything 🤦🏻♀️😢😩
It may depend if your printer is inkjet or laser and if the vinyl you are using is compatible with the printer. Not sure. If it works fine on all others types of paper it may be the vinyl or the settings for it on the Computer or printer.
All of the epson and Workforce and tank printers have this problem. Epson knows about it yet does nothing to fix it because they would have to do a redesign of all of there printers. there was a time when epson had good printers but that time is over. they just don't care anymore, Buy a HP or canon because they don't do this, ie waste ink like crazy like it's free. When I print a page with my Hp 100 dollar printer it opens the tray out of the printer and prints the page perfectly. NOT my epson. I've found a trick that makes the printer work a bit better. here it is. turn off in the printer settings in software Fast printing. everytime I print a picture with fast printing on it screws it up with lines. when dealing with cartridge printers, when the ink gets low that's when you start to run into trouble too. sometimes you just have to declare bankruptcy on that cartridge and move on with your life. LOL
I will try it the next time I have this problem. These printers require the correct setting for the printing job or issues will occur. Thanks for the tip!
@@Renarocs it's stupid that you have to deal with that. Because you don't with other printers. I only have a Epson because I need to print on the dvd disc and Epson owns the patent on printing on cd/dvd's but as soon as I am done with burnable media I am done with Epson and it's screwball nonsense. the ink tank printers are nice, you get two years of ink that comes with the printer but it does you no good because if you don't print a color page each week the print head will get clogged and the printer will not print, then you need to buy the service cartridge that costs 10 to 20 dollars each that all of the remaining ink that doesn't print goes into. that is how epson regains the money from printing with the printer. one set of ink bottles costs you two service cartridges that go in the back of the printer. I paid 500 dollars for this printer btw, but have used so far two service cartridges. not a deal. just thought you would like to know. If I was you, I would get a nice color laser printer. less problems and trouble too.

I just bought an Epson printer yesterday evening and have been trying to figure out since last night. Did everything it tells me to do and still see lines. Waited overnight hoping the machine will absorb the ink lol, but still the same results!! I was so about to take this printer back to Target!!!! Decided to give it a final try looking for something totally different. You saved my time and my day and now I’m so happy!!!

I have two Epson printers. The WF-4630, which I'm still using and the same one with dual paper trays of which the model escapes me (I did an Office Space to it when it wouldn't even attempt to print with brand new cartridges). I am not impressed with Epson printers based on my experience. On the WF-4630 I'm experiencing horizontal banding which none of the usual fixes help. I'm close to getting out the baseball bat for some practice on it.
Have you tried making sure the printer and computer settings are the same when it comes to the paper selection? Since you have 2 printers, try checking to see which one is chosen as the default and in printer preferences. Also, sometimes with the automatic updates my default printer gets switched to offline. Hope these tips helps.

Thank for the video, but I noticed your paper is glossy I only use reg printer paper, will this make a difference in color / lines I have Epson ET4800
It should not make a difference. Make sure that the setting you choose on the printer is the same on your computer in printer preferences.

What paper choice is for the sublimation paper?
Hi. To be honest I have never used sublimation paper, so I would not know the paper choice for sure. For most of my printing on sticker paper, I used the premium setting to get the best color, however it does run your ink o it faster.

Try this: on your printer and computer set your paper to premium matte even if your using plain paper. Make sure it’s on 1-sided. This works for me sometimes. Don’t know why, but it does.

I have a silhouette portrait 2 machine and the software that comes with it. Silhouette studios.
For my printer it’s just the automatic updates that come with the printer when you connect to the internet. Hope that helped.

@@Renarocs I have 9 thin, horizontal lines where the ink is more saturated. I can't make art print like that. I have cleaned it three times yesterday and the 4 is the best picture but they all look like shit honestly

I don’t have that model so I can’t say for sure. With epson printers they usually work best if the setting match on computer and printer. There are exceptions depending on the settings chosen. 1 sided vs 2 and the paper type chosen. I have to adjust these setting to get my printer to print without lines.

Have you downloaded epson iPrint to your iPad? Is your problem white lines?
My printer is a brothers printer. Yes white lines or colors lines that are too dark and you can tell on the printable vinyl but everything else prints just fine I think it mite be just the printable vinyl or the fact that I need a computer to fix this like you showed in the video cuz I tried everything 🤦🏻♀️😢😩
It may depend if your printer is inkjet or laser and if the vinyl you are using is compatible with the printer. Not sure. If it works fine on all others types of paper it may be the vinyl or the settings for it on the Computer or printer.
All of the epson and Workforce and tank printers have this problem. Epson knows about it yet does nothing to fix it because they would have to do a redesign of all of there printers. there was a time when epson had good printers but that time is over. they just don't care anymore, Buy a HP or canon because they don't do this, ie waste ink like crazy like it's free. When I print a page with my Hp 100 dollar printer it opens the tray out of the printer and prints the page perfectly. NOT my epson. I've found a trick that makes the printer work a bit better. here it is. turn off in the printer settings in software Fast printing. everytime I print a picture with fast printing on it screws it up with lines.
when dealing with cartridge printers, when the ink gets low that's when you start to run into trouble too. sometimes you just have to declare bankruptcy on that cartridge and move on with your life. LOL
I will try it the next time I have this problem. These printers require the correct setting for the printing job or issues will occur. Thanks for the tip!
@@Renarocs it's stupid that you have to deal with that. Because you don't with other printers. I only have a Epson because I need to print on the dvd disc and Epson owns the patent on printing on cd/dvd's but as soon as I am done with burnable media I am done with Epson and it's screwball nonsense. the ink tank printers are nice, you get two years of ink that comes with the printer but it does you no good because if you don't print a color page each week the print head will get clogged and the printer will not print, then you need to buy the service cartridge that costs 10 to 20 dollars each that all of the remaining ink that doesn't print goes into. that is how epson regains the money from printing with the printer. one set of ink bottles costs you two service cartridges that go in the back of the printer. I paid 500 dollars for this printer btw, but have used so far two service cartridges. not a deal. just thought you would like to know. If I was you, I would get a nice color laser printer. less problems and trouble too.
