Great job! This is another perfect video for motivation before tonight's run! Does this one rank fairly high for beauty to you? I'd love to put this one on the "someday" list, but it sure looks challenging!
Yes, Wasatch is one of my favorite race. I think it's just one tiny nodge bellow The Bear 100, but very similar. Love the point to point, solid mountain racing. Moslty single track. I rank The Bear above ONLY because it's likely at The Bear to be right on time for colorful foliage. Other than that, a solid race and very scenic (less than Ouray, and different than Zion, but yes up there!)
No more stash?! Hehe! Been thinking about Wasatch 100 race. Between this and Leadville 100, which would you recommend? Fun video (love the Harry Potter and other movie references/inserts), awesome experience, and well done on the race!!!
Difficult one - both are top notch events and you can't go wrong. Leadville is unique because of the community, it's such a big event and it's very well organized. Being and out-and-back, the logistic is simpler for drop bags, and if you have some, pacer/crew. The challenge here is altitude, and tight cutoffs all day. It feels like a fast pace 'road' race, with a mountain in the middle. Wasatch course is much more challenging, but the extra 6hr more than make up for the difference. The challenge is altitude (but not as bad), but more importantly, elevation gain, and sometimes not easily runnable trails. The heat during the day, and cold at night are factors too. But the course is amazing. 100 miles point-to-point is very special, you spend a lot of that time on single track trails with great views. So I guess it depends on preferences - but if forced to chose, I'd pick Wasatch myself.
My daughter might watch this video with the Harry Potter theme. Congrats on the Slam and Leadman. Hope to share some more miles with you in the future. Jeff
Congratulations!! Another incredible race, and incredible film. I actually got a little something in my eye when you arrived at the aid station and saw Nora. This race looks spectacular, would you say it's a top pick for someone who would have to travel from New England and has a tight budget?
I was almost crying when I saw her - it was a struggle all day. Wasatch 100M is awesome for sure - very challenging course, but very nice course too, especially if you like single track and mountains. And being close to SLC makes it convenient to travel to (and relatively cheap accommodation).
Congrats Simon. Great video. I can relate to the hallucination LOL.
Nora still makes fun of me about it... She says I'm scared of the dark lol
A rough one, but you did it 🤟👏👏👏. A lot to learn from your journey.
Way to push through!!! Definitely something I would love to do!
Thanks :)
Wasatch is one of my favorite!
Great recap and congrats on the Slam! I did Wasatch a few years back, great race, your video brought back many painful memories! Great job
Thanks! Wasatch is not an easy for sure... But I love it - great course :)
Thank you so much for making this. Congratulations on your grand slam!
Thanks - and thanks for watching :)
Way to goooooo 💪💪💪
That was such a special one to finish! It really marked the end of a crazy summer - and having Nora with me was perfect!
Congrats, dude. Found you a couple weeks ago and have watched a bunch of your 100s now.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it and it gets you inspired :)
@@runningwithsimon These videos need to inspire my lottery odds! I'm five years trying to get into the slam.
@@Simco_ Hopefully it does lol. But honestly, that's probably the hardest part...
Loved this video, especially when you got to see Nora (almost cried, for some reason). Big congrats on the Grand Slam!
Thank you so much :)
Excellent adventure ! Your channel is fantastic !
Thanks :)
