2023 and song is desperately needed to be heard everywhere. Pray for me that I will be able to sing this and others at an outdoor par😢k, I used to sing for people and loved every bit of it. I am battling cancer it's one huge downfall. Thanks and God bless you!
This song is going round and round my head for 2022. How can there still be wars, humanity needs peace and healing, the last two years have been so hard for everyone. We just need some joy. X
My husband and I were vacationing in Hawaii in late 70's. We went to Dionne's concert. She arrived in a helicopter and gave a memorable concert. It was beautiful. I will never forget it.
MY OL DAD LIKED THIS SONG SO MUCH. He died, well, was killed, 30 yrs ago/ a kind, good man......he was cool...in 1965 he came home, he was bald, wearing a Beatle wig and gave me and brother 4 tickets to see THE BEATLES..!!!!!! in KC......$8 a piece!!!!!
My favorite movie Made me hear this song for the first time. I instantly fell in love with this song. The music and melody were so hypnotic, like magic. It passed me by until I was almost 50 years old. I turned on the movie again. Watching the movie and crying Listening to this song made me cry even harder than before.
This song breaks me up so much because my mom used to hum this tune to herself when I was a kid. She loved Dionne's music. Every time I hear this tune and a few others it just brings back so many memories. This combination of Burt Bacharach and Dionne Warrick was one of the best in popular music's long history.
I DID NOT come here from a Joker trailer, but I'm glad to see a new generation is being introduced to this type of beautiful music I was listening to as a rugrat with my ear up to dad's speaker 😎

We were so hopeful then. Before Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy died. Things could have been so different. We just have to carry on and keep trying. The DREAM is still there.
I was in Indianapolis with my parents in April of 1968. We were at the "rally" when Bobby Kennedy told us that Martin Luther King had been killed. Indy was the only major city in the country that didn't go up in flames that night...because one brave man spoke about the common humanity that unites us instead of the things that divide us. Racism was real and even legal in the early 60's and brave people, both black and white, worked and sacrificed so that things could be better for everybody. Progress was being made. Now we're being pulled back to where we were because a few people, again, both black and white, find their power in stoking racial hatred and division. If my parents and I were at the same kind of rally today, we'd be lucky to get out alive. It breaks my heart.
@@thesunwillcomeoutwaitandse2373 Unfortunately what you wrote is true.. But also true was - and still is - what a Great Man spoke (the legendary words): " I HAVE A DREAM.. " And his dream is still very much alive today. A dream, meaning in the present world "To treat everyone in a decent, respectful way, just as we should - regardless color, gender, religion, social status, ancestry, (sexual) orientation, age or whatever". Because there is one - undeniable thing - we all share: we're all the children and we all live on this wonderful, beautiful natural world called Mother Earth.. It is true nowadays we're going thru pretty hard times - but "We, The (loving) People.." will be victorious. Finally we will turn bad people into good ones, by showing them being good makes one much happier, than being bad. True, it's not gonna be easy and it's gonna take a lot of time - most likely I won't be alive anymore, when that wonderful day comes (I'm 70+). The most important thing is NEVER to lose faith in Compassion, Decency and most of all in Love ! Anyone keeping this faith, will be invincible. Now that is what I believe in and it makes me strong & hopeful. And happy. No matter what. (I'm old and I got serious health issues. But I just refuse "to give up" - that phrase is not to be found in MY vocabulary, no way !) My dear, please, never give in - and never despair. I believe you can do just that. Yes, really - you can. When a majority of Good People unites, it will get better, I guarantee. Just wait & see.. Blessed Be. ❤😊😊❤

No back up singers, no smoke or mirrors, no dancers...just 100% TALENT and seemingly effortless mastery. One of a kind. Thoroughly Dionne. Perfect.
I like backup singers. It adds more to the song, a call and response setting and more fullness to the song.
