In this video we take a touch with a setup from Romain Cannone using distance control to force Hoyle into a choice! Feel free to like comment and subscribe!
Think of it as who is following who, if you are forced to follow someone's footwork you do not have tempo. So at one point Hoyle clearly starts following Cannone which gives him a slight edge on decision making. Hope this helps!
@@dontflyspirit6535 its sorta whoever gives in, like if one steps forward and the other doesnt respect that then theyre at vulnerable distance anyway so they have to respect that the other has tempo
Cyrus of Chaos did a good analysis of the bout : ruclips.net/video/QeAoGTSIDjw/видео.html However, I'd love to hear what @Samuel Gallagher Pelletier has to say about it.
@@julienzerilli4082 Saw this one!, Jon Normile is a great fencer and has great insight, I remember losing to him in on over time in 2008? to his infamous toe hit!
It was certainly on the edge of it, Hoyle even jumped back to convince the ref, personally I think a card could be appealed but I believe Hoyle was out of video replays by this time in the bout !
can you please explain what "tempo" means, I've read it here and there but cant quite wrap my head around it.

@@GPFencing What if both, fully aware of distance, try to pretend to ignore it? As in both try to lead the tempo? What determines who leads?

Absolutely, that's probably still one of the best bouts of all times

Ill make that bout my next project then!
Nearly a yellow card at least tho.

Am I wrong to say flèche when the opponent’s back foot begins to raise?
I find it harder to see reliably but it could also be a good indicator
God bless ❤
