Stanthorpe on the Qld/NSW Border our west a little, often used to get snow in the colder parts of winter. I remember scraping ice off my windshield while camping out west 😊
Yes we have Bhajis here 😊 By the way, that's an Australian Raven, bigger (and a bit smarter) than a crow, we have a few species of crow but not as common in populated areas.
Started watching football in the early 1970s when i was about 8 or 10 on our once-a-week Match of the Day which I think i recall on Monday at 6pm. As Leeds were highflyers then they were the team we saw the most and a lot of us adopted them. Been a lifelong suffering fan ever since (MOT). Now my son is and even has an Elland Road mock street sign blu-tacked to his bedroom door. Became obsessed with the beautiful game and have been a season ticket holder at Adelaide Utd in the A-League for many years. My brother lives on the Sunshine Coast and coaches one of the squads at Maroochydore Swans.
You may already know this but never swim at a beach that’s not patrolled by lifeguards, and then make sure you swim between the red and yellow flags because that’s the sagest section of the surf for that day - no rips between the flags.
I have two cousins who have lived in Coolum since the 70's. My aunty used to live in Maroochydore and I have gone for weekends since a teenager to the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and northern NSW. Brisbane old boy.
I lived at Peregian Springs, behind Coolum, until last year. Nice place. Now live further down the Sunny Coast. Nearly every day I'm in T-shirt, shorts and thongs (flip-flops). What was soocer is now being called football more often, with the other ball games being called (rugby) leage or union, and Aussie rules. My dad helped found a football club down in NSW, Bathurst 75.

Early Spring is great for sport. Through late September, you have all the football code's finals - NRL in Sydney and AFL at the MCG in Melbourne plus maybe a touring Rugby Union international side. Aussie born and supported Arsenal since I was 10 years old just before the EPL came into existence. My twin brother follows Liverpool. Everyone here is biased towards their own sport but one thing that can’t be denied is that our national team the “Socceroos” hold the record televised viewing audience for a team sport in this country, so technically it is the number one sport. Also there are 400-500% more people who play the sport than rugby or AFL. It is a bit disguised because we watch the games at 3am and it gets no media coverage because the commercial channels can’t make money from running adverts every 2 minutes the game stops for substantial periods of time like in the other codes of football. I also read derogatory remarks on this channel about it being a “wog” sport. My family has been here since the 1800s and every farming community or town had a soccer team where I am from back in those days. AFL didn’t exist at that point and also had to wait to be later exported from Victoria for it to gain any interest. The club I predominantly played for was formed in the 1930’s when Australia still had the “White Australia Policy”. When I played semi-professional level though I did play for some clubs that were supported by an ethnic community who had substantial sums of money flowing through from gambling, bars, facilities and sponsorship. For every Mark Viduka, there is also a Harry Kewell.
