if this video didn't work for you/your computer doesn't show most of the settings options that were being used (aka the touchpad section of settings was basically empty) do this: 1. click start and search "Device Manager" 2. under "Human Interface Devices" find something referencing the touch pad (mine is called HID Compliant Touch Pad) 3. right click and see if there is an option that says "enable" and click that. this should make it work 4. if that isn't there try to click update and do the search online option and see if that fixes the issue 5. lastly, if you did those and no change, try to restart the computer good luck
I KNOW my laptop touchpad Gestures , 3 finger and 4 finger (are compatible, I´ve been using them for 3 years 2021 laptop) after windows 11 May 2024 update they stopped working, and now the options are gone (3 and 4 finger gestures) this is really frustrating...
After I (or more accurately windows) installed a update, so many things about the touchpad just were so different, and none of it was good. And it’s annoying the living sh*t out of me. Some gestures are working, but some (like the swipe to go back/forth a tab in chrome) aren’t. And the scrolling just feels bad, not just clunky, but BAD. It isn’t as smooth anymore, the speed is just all over the place and on some apps, if I scroll just a little, I’ve suddenly scrolled through the whole page. And I’m just so done with it.
so i did a fabric reset on my laptop and after the fabric reset my touchpad stopped working and i dont even have the touchpad settings in settings but before the fabric reset my touchpad was working but i don't remember if i had the touchpad setting.... idk what to do. does this mean my laptop isn't compatible with the touchpad anymore?
Mine was the same, so did the last step. I went to device manager, human interface devices and just uninstalled them all, restarted my computer and now the 2 finger scrolling finally worked again 😅
