If FM25 won't sell good enough (it won't) the FM Series is in serious trouble. I hope they have the ressources left to make a great FM26. And it needs to be good and sell well. If FM26 is a failure as well, the Studio might never recover from this desaster.. But how they handle the situation with exactly 0 communication is self destructive. Personally I don't think we will get anything the next days. The next Thing we will hear is probably in the early february that the game is not ready yet or something. If we even then don't get any Infos..
I've had the same thought, if we do actually get fm25 I'm just going to play on the game pass. Not buying it until fm26, when it's only going to be half a year away.
I saw they’re also under pressure to get out a game this financial year, hence the March release, so likely it’ll be pushed out, finished or not, this is the time where shit hits the fan and miles gets reactive and nasty on twitter 😂😂
Tbh even if the news isn’t ‘bad’, the game is most likely going to be. The fact that they haven’t felt excited or wanted to say anything at all, particularly after all the negative news we’ve had already shows how they feel about the product.
They said by the end of Jan but it's typical SI. Releasing some info on the 31st Jan is poor optics, it essentially says they are chasing their tail still. Worse will be if they just recycle the info they previously released only changing dates.....
I think it's pretty clear that the radio silence implies it's all a bit of a car crash. If they had anything to show, they'd show it. I reckon they'll release something on 31st and it'll probably be "Coming to FM25, women's football! More news to follow!"
I agree. That place would be not a happy place to work. People may have walked out making the situation worse etc. Silence definitely is not good. Silence screams major issues still. I am not convinced the March deadline will be made. I genuinely fear FM the game we love is in a massive hole. Very worried.
@@stephenjackson4359they already have a job, making videos for football manager on RUclips… is a job these days. If they’re making a lot of money on TikTok or RUclips, they already have a real job 😂.
3:00 I only bought fm because you upload videos and your style of simulating whole season is something that I have time to do and I really enjoy it some times
I have only come across this channel later but yeah, if I hadn’t watched Zealand videos I wouldn’t have gotten the game for myself either, now I am starting my 9th season in a Hartlepool save!
The licence model won't allow it I believe. If they had not said anything about fm25 when fm24 was being teased they could have had a window to push what will be 25 to 26 rather than delaying the game and giving fm25 as an updated 24 with token new features. I have a feeling that the new version has release requirements linked with the new licences and so they have to get it out. I also expect sega have accepted 25 will be bad financially and 26 will be where they will hope sales pick up. If 25 and 26 are utter disasters then sega could close si or slash their budgets and we know that they would as they did it with creative assembly (total war).
Why wait until November. Release it a week after the transfer window closes end of August. I know the money people won't allow it, but this is 100% what they should do to make the game the best it can be, and avoid having release a "new" FM26 game only a few months later which will also not go down well with the player base.
@ exactly, he flew off to blue sky and then announced he was taking a break from social media. Loves pats on the back bit the first sign of trouble he’s gone. Been there too long imo and he’s no leader.
@@FutbolManagerFM Couldnt agree more! Ive seen enough of him through the years, but he has been acting in a way and has a history that people are not going to be sad if he goes. Pretty shocking behaviour for a studio director, being that rude to people and straight up bully people on social media. What I dont like, is that he says on his facebook profile that the company is not all about games. "New Soorts Interactive branding, new website & new Instagram account. That's the problem, when they see business booming they don't see their faults. You have to hurt them where it hurts most, there pockets. Take examples from writers strike for example
They never listened though. There are people still playing CM 01/02 because Miles thumbed his nose at them over CM4 and shipped a broken product in the days before day 1 automatic updates. Miles is the problem, always has been. He has been insulated for years by the Sega buyout and if they don't release in March, they should fire him.
its almost as if they dont care about the loyal fan-base this game has, 0 updates, delays upon delays and just silence! its like they dont realize that some people rely on this game as an income like yourself.
@@bionicgeekgrrlyes but the majority of content creators who make money through the game, use the pc version, so football manager should care about their content creators who are streaming the game and increasing the sales of the game.
If you understood where spurs where when levy was installed and their financial position and improvement, you'd realise you're way over complimenting Miles
I've been playing the older editions of FM recently, and while searching the internet for skins and picture packs etc, I've found the old marketing stuff SI put out for those games. In previous years, this close to release we've had gameplay videos, explanations of new features, and other stuff. The fact we've had nothing but radio silence is very ominous, and I think SI have zero confidence in the new game.
Yeah i remember fm19 and fm22 two of them i really liked they had loads of marketing going on the socials, interviews, chats with youtubers too. Doesn't seem good but I hope they surprise us.
I didn't play FM24 that much, but it's clear people really loved it, it's always in the top steam charts. I'm surprised they didn't capitalize on the success of the franchise right now
they did try to capitlize on its success by using all those profits to radically redesign the entire game from the ground up. clearly they were too ambitious
Thank you, Luke. I think they have a lot more trouble with the match engine and the implementation of the player actions on the field than they originally thought. If they were really happy, they would have shown us 3D videos of the matches long ago to generate excitement and hype. But they don't. They have also been raving about the new graphics engine. So far, we have only seen images of menus and tables. Something is not quite right!
I for 1 didnt/don't really want the 3D match graphics, if u wanted that play fifa etc an now because of that bein a whole new aspect off the game, they have went in at deep end an somethin ain't workin. I'd rather they just turn round an say there won't be a FM25 now. Just an official update to FM24 for new season just to weather the storm but release FM26 earlier than they usually release the game.
Its funny i get the instant game mod or play commentary only. Even holiday some seasons as the game is a management game. The 3D engine did a decent job. I get having a new engine for a new era and for modern PCs and Consoles but if they focused on the 3D side too much I think that was a mistake.
The biggest fear for me is that on the website there are 3 versions of the game listed. Console, Touch and Mobile. I fear they are doing away with the more detailed PC port, and the game will essentially release as the simplified console version on all platforms. I don't care about delays and radio silence if the release is good, but I'm very worried the whole game is being dumbed down.
I personally never heard of FM until I started to watch your videos and TomFM, so i don't know much about the fan base, hype or how the company usually treats her fans, but as u said no communication is worse than bad news. I hope they release some information soon for the community that really loves the game. Obs: Sorry if my English is bad, it's not my first language.
I said from the time it was first announced that it would be delayed back in September that I had a horrible feeling that they'd messed it up so badly that they're going to release an absolute dog of a game. Here we are now on 29th January 2025, the game is already what? 3 months late, near enough, and 1 month away from it's release, and it's been non-stop radio silence from SI... it looks to me like my early prediction was right. Unfortunately due to the complexities of contracts, they couldn't do what EVERYONE knows is the smart thing, and that would have been to release an Official Patch for FM24, refund everyone for FM25 pre-order, and wait for FM26 to get things right. I think the studio completely shot themselves in the foot back in 2023 though, that's when this all began, when they announced they'd be switching to Unity for FM25... that was where they messed up from the off, by putting a strict deadline on it. To switch from their own in-house engine that they've used for god knows how many years, to move to Unity, to completely have to start from scratch, and only give themselves 2 years to get it over the line was a huge problem. They should realistically have said they were going to move to Unity but put no deadline on it and wait to get their ducks in a row. I get it, from a financial and business perspective why they didn't, but that would absolutely have been the intelligent option. Now, they're going to release an EXTREMELY LATE, most likely Broken game - AT FULL PRICE - that they will then most likely be releasing a new version of in October/November. It's been a complete car crash from the off
I started with a football manager game back on the Amiga, away back in the mid 90's, then started on my very first pc, when Championship Manager came out, and been a fan ever since, bought every game that came out every year, without hesitation.
I also feel for the developers and all the other staff working on the game currently. If an eventual release doesn't live up to expectations, create hype, meet sales targets etc etc, they, like you, will suffer the consequences of poor management. I love your content and sincerely have my fingers crossed we see a positive outcome.
Not to be overly conspiratoric, but they have lead a very moderated steam forum, with SI-presence at all times, removing posts and blocking people. Now they are no where to be seen, Neil Brock used to be on all the time, and if he had a day off he had a substitute. They blocked my friend, fun part he used to work for SI with FM so he called up and had them remove the ban :D
Licencing means that that cannot happen. If they had not done all that hyping for 25 they could have had a window to get 25 out as 24 with data updates and tweaks, but they can't now, unity or bust now.
@@bionicgeekgrrl Not that it CAN'T happen, it's just that they've likely already paid the licensing fees, so greater financial losses than just personnel costs. Waiting until September would be the best outcome for players, but disaster for the studio.
@@zo7034 yep it will be a really low feature version of FM with not much there, just some barebones on the new engine. FM26 im sure they are already working on....
As a content creator, you are absolutely giving them free advertising. More people ought to call them out. Even if the game does come out in March and it's great, I'm not buying it. I actually really enjoy FM24 and can see myself playing it for years. On a positive note, your videos, and TomFM, are the only FM videos I still watch. The other videos are starting to feel like the same thing. In my opinion, you are one of two people innovating FM videos. Seeing a video with Dad makes me excited to sit down and watch. Thank you!
To be honest, when they said the end of January in the original blog post from a few months ago,, in my head, I was thinking that it would be the 31st.
I was watching the video you did the other day about 25, and it got me to thinking that maybe they're going to push it back until the end of the summer transfer window and start a new cycle from there. So each following release will follow suit and the start of September will be the next years release. I mean, I have nothing to base that on, just a hunch.
Thanks Luke, as allways great taughts there! Before YT, the content creators used to be people like me, the ones that used to wirte save reports as we called them, on the SI forums amo. What we did was basically roleplaying, made a save with certain goals, like sign homwgrown players, use youth players, LLM etc. Then made a written story about it, Si adopted that idea and now its a board mechanic. SI did shift more towards the strategy approach, with ingame game mechanics, player interatctions etc. And it did not work that well, some of it they removed and some they kept. Introducing Bosman-rule is an expample. It is a roleplaying game, with strategy elements, not the other way aorund. SI didnt agree, and they started blocking, muting and ignore, everyone that asked question about ingame mechanics that didnt "make sense". It has allways been my way or no way. My point is, they have allways been like this. Ignored and total silence towards the community, and if you dont agree on the route they are taking then youre out, if youre not a YT in a certain space that is. Its not the first time this is happening, but its more prominent now, cause we have more platforms to express our opinions on
I get all the concern, I truly do. But I absolutely don't mind the delay. I'd much rather play FM24 a little longer than play a broken-at-launch FM25 while they try to fix it for the following five, six, seven months. I'm not a content creator, and don't rely as heavily on FM. But my hope is that this is a truly enjoyable experience, once it comes out. It's a new engine, and staff come and go - I'd imagine. Lots of stuff going on behind the scenes. Good video, man.
@michaelfarrow5817 they're a big studio for a "small" developer as well, it's not like it's 3 devs working on an indie title with fundraisers to build, nearly 4 years is plenty of time for what will be more advanced stickmen and spreadsheets.
I feel your pain. I keep hearing content creators finding other jobs, finding other sources of income away from Football Manager. I don't trust SI anymore. I am unlikely to buy FM25 due to the fact we nearly finishing the regular season, and I definitely won't buy it if it is buggy. I will only consider buying it if there is a radical price reduction (50% or more). I cannot see that happening. I hope you and all the content creators get through this unscathed.
im also starting to worry about fm25 i was so excited for the new game because i have got every single fm because we ain't heard anything im starting to think that they be doing the same thing as 2k did with wwe 2k21
I totally agree with you. As the hype is almost dead right now, the silence from the devs are HUGE! And this silence is very bad... It could be anything, and just the fact that they dind´t progress with the new game/engine at all. Sad months approaching for us FM players... Greetings from Brazil.
At this point my interest in 25 Is purely about getting a sneak peak at what 26 might look like. Because that’s the game I’ll end up getting… and a lot of people seem to have that mindset. And surely SI and SEGA see that, and start thinking they need to do something to win people like us back to their yearly schedule. The fact they haven’t done anything in my eyes proves they haven’t got anything. And honestly at this point I’m worried about 26 and the future of the series beyond this one. Because it’s feeling like the whole situation has gone beyond SIs control.
I get were you are coming from but if they made an announcement to tell us there will be announcement, it would be worse. I’m confident we will get news on Friday 🎉
Given the reaction to the last round of announcements, I don't blame them for not signposting in advance of the announcement. Given that 31st January is Friday, I would expect that to be when the announcement comes. They also haven't said when in March it'll be out. If it's late March, beta would not be until mid March.
I will be honest, this could be really damaging for FM, all the changes and everything can make or break a game series, lets be honest the last 4 or 5 FM's have almost been the same. i haven't clocked over a hundred hours on fm since FM 19 and i've been playing since CM mid 90's days. This new match engine could be a massive problem if not done right, im not even all about graphics anyway but with the younger crowd who are grown up on high graphics they will want the game to look high end. SI can't afford to miss a release they may never recover from that.
I expect we have already accepted 25 and 26 will be rough as things get sorted out and 27 and 28 will be the better versions. But 25 and 26 could lose them audience for years to come. Though mobile is apparently where they have the largest user base now and that is not moving to unity yet, so will be 24 with new skin effectively.
I don't agree that the games have been completely the same. Mostly yes, but the positional play improvements in FM24 were real. Inverted fullbacks made it possible to be very creative tactically. But you're right about the release. The MUST put something out, even if it is garbage.
I would suspect the studio may be having trouble with the new engine. Due to the lack of communication and delay a price of 60 is absurd. They should release it at half price and give a percentage off FM26 as a loyalty bonus if you've owned a previous FM game. The fact that there is no news or a whisper of any updates has me very pessimistic about the release of FM25. The modding community has made a database for 25 so I'm happy to stay on FM24 until I see some solid gameplay or something worth playing. I feel bad for all the content creators who play FM because this has been a trainwreck of a release.
Yup, I have basically no hope in this game. They've given us nothing. All I expect is more cut content, because that's all they've given us. I'll stick with 24 for a while.
I hope they reduce the price for fm25 due to how short the cycle of this one will be. I will probably end up buying it, IF they do something with the graphics.
I understand the concerns, personally won't be buying the game. But, I think this video is built on a bit of a false premise. SI clearly said that there would be nothing further til the end of January. This is normal for SI. They always drop news right at the end of a deadline, it's been that way for years. Feels like this video should have been put on a hold for a few days to see if they follow through on the end of Jan promise.
If it's bad news, they should at the very least promise an official data update for FM24 to cover the 24-25 season with the official branding sponsorships they've acquired; it's the best gesture they could make if something has gone wrong.
I honestly think that since they delayed it, they've had to completely rebuild the game because nothing was wotrking and there was no fix for it. We'll end up getting the most basic version of an already massively stripped back game. Probably about 20 playable leagues in total with very little depth, and it'll be a buggy mess
At this point fm25 is going to have a very short life cycle. We'll get lots of memes from how broken it will be. Hopefully however they will keep patching it regularly right until 26 launches as fixes for 25 will be less bugs 26 has at launch.
@@bionicgeekgrrl Yep. I have a feeling though, that they will just write FM25 off as a lost cause and just release what they have at the very end of March and leave it at that, then put all of their resources into FM26 to try and claw people back.
I’m amazed anyone expected different. This is what game developers have done for years: promise the world, realise they can’t deliver, Delay the game and then fall off the face of the earth
They will release the new roadmap in the next few days which will have a timetable releasing things over the next 4 weeks with match engine reveal in week 4.
The most insane thing is that the game is purchasable. Delayed we don't know why, we know nothing about the state of the game, no communication, nothing
Seriously, the devblog where they announced the long ass delay they told us, that end of january they will hold zhe gameplay reveal, so its only 2 more days...
Considering they are a one game company, you would think they would hype their product to the max and promote it long before release. SI's interaction with the huge fanbase that play their product is absolutely shocking.
Been playing FM since FM 2012 and this is the least hype I’ve had for a new FM since I began playing. The lack of communication, the removal of features and the massive delay in releasing it will turn people off, including myself, from buying this game. But, keep making content with your dad because it’s really good and your community enjoys it a lot.
This has to be a dumpster fire behind the scenes. I’ve been kind of assuming for a while that we’re basically gonna get a FM26 beta test this year at this point, but it has to be a mess if they’re not even able to share anything confidently now. At this point my biggest hope is it doesn’t impact the release window of 26 and we still get that in the fall. I’d imagine staying in the pre-Christmas window is more important to them than waiting to give 25 a full year, but who knows.
Playing the game long time. Remember my Wolves days with Richards, Bull and Robbie Keane. For me skipping FM25 is ok. Just go on creating a FM26. Would appreciate an official update with all player transfers, promotions and relegations though.
Yeah. It’s a disaster. I’ve been pretty relaxed about it and sympathised with you content creators. The longer it goes on however, the more concerned I’ve become about the series as a whole surviving this.
I think there is an obvious problem with the new system behind the scenes Luke and its panic stations at the studio. If they dont release a game in March then theyre going to lose a lot of money this financial year. Personally im not too bothered now if we dont get a game and they hold it back until FM26. My biggest worry is for you mate and other content creators. Its taking your income away with no official statements or updates. Feels like its all just a mess and Si dont know what to do about it. Staying positive though as once they do get things right the game should get better with each year that they advance on this new platform.
The people at SI are gamers and just like everyone else, they're all hooked on PoE2 and just can't get anything done because of it. We just need to remain patient.
I see it differently. I think if the game was in real trouble they would’ve said something by now about it being delayed again/cancelled. The fact they haven’t said anything yet makes me think they are just working to a Friday 31st news release, they tend to leave stuff to the last minute with updates I do think the game will be buggy/not great and FM26 will be more what they wanted FM25 to be
I’m in 2 mind to even buy it or not, because if it’s £40-£50 to then spend that again in November for FM26, but I’m also thinking do I want to play fm24 for another 9 months. The lack of communication is a shambles and tbh at this point I’d accept them saying fm25 isn’t happening we are sorry but there has been a few unseen complications and there for instead of delaying it another month we are solely focusing on fm26
I'm 100% confident that FM26 will be what FM25 should have been. So, I'll wait for FM26 whether FM25 is an good game or not because of the featureless and the short cycle till FM26.
So my uninformed thoughts as a project manager who has done many software implementation in other industries: - this close to an indicative release date, they should be in a testing phase. So there could/should be plenty of materials available for marketing releases - the lack of a release date, a beta date and any other evidence of progress is concerning that they are not on track and quite far behind - a lot of people think this stuff is easy, or SI are bad or lazy, but it's quite possible SI can be good and working 20 hour days and it still falls behind. They could be bad though - if it does slip again they underestimated how much effort was needed which is not the same as it's taking longer than it should, such a large underestimation should be avoidable but usually it's a deadline (e.g. annual release date) that has been dictated from up above that was never realistic but they don't want to be told until you've tried and failed (and then that's your fault not theirs) - although it's probably trending to marketing on social media and they started to recognise the value of Luke et al, content creators are a drop in the ocean of sales. 14m copies of FM24 sold, there's a vast silent majority of casual players who never watch twitch or youtube - my sympathies for content creators who derive an income from FM, as a player who is still enjoying FM24 but busy with work, gym, life, making sure the mortgage is paid, FM25's release date is way down in the 'it'll be nice' category.
I said this on one of your community posts the other day. I understood the whole 'end of January we will have info' but radio silence didnt fill me with any hope. Something seriously wrong behind the scenes. I genuinely wory for the future of the game/company.
They should just write this year off and go for FM26 but yeah totally agree about communication from SI is terrible. Even just some screenshots and development updates would be nice
I think they should just tell us the current state of things in brutal honesty. Transparent communication is key. The silence already tells us that they're not as far along as they'd hoped.
And if the game is a broken mess and they need to release something by the end of March as we suspect, they should just tell us that and go into an extended beta period until the game is finished for at most 30 €. Yes, the financials would be bad, but you'd save a lot of community good will.
Very concerning! Surely at this point they get something out before 1st of Feb, then a wee boost by saying because of the delay the game will be available for cheaper than usual, get us all back on side/keen to buy and a good taster for a big fm26 release later in the year. Still holding out hope they get it right and put out a good game albeit very delayed!
Agree. I bought the Game because of Content Creators. I was tired of Fifa Career Mode always beeing the Same. My imagination saved Career Mode for many years. I played FIFA 12 CAREER MODE till Fifa 22. After that i found many Content Creators playin FM and i was like: ,,YEAH, i give it a try", after FM20 was free on EPIC and it looked complicated. Best decision. when i saw you can TALK with players and say ,,good training" i was like wow! had to learn all the positions in FM and it was fun playing against different Playstyle, cuz in Fifa Bayern plays 4-2-3-1 for ever and same coaches stays. Now i feel FOOTBALL MANAGER goes more and more in direction of Fifa. small to no big changes since FM22 and communication bad. I feel like the PC community aswell gets sold bcs of their target to get the Console Audience. I am very disappointed and i cant imagine the People like you, dealing with this for many years. Love your videos and from many Content Creators too! keep the good work and i love the Duo: You and your Dad. wholesome. Enjoy the time cause once they get memorys, you'll miss it!
If there isn't a massive reveal tomorrow 30th of Jan. It has to be that it's cancelled. I think it's 70/30% in the cancel zone. And they skip to fm26 release.
They should push to 26 and rapidly iterate on what they have for 25. Sometimes you just gotta take the L, learn from the mess you made, and move on. Costly, but sometimes it is. Also gives them the chance, like you say, to get the full creator hype cycle going. I only bought 24 because of watching your (and a few others - Stinger in particular) content
They say they couldn’t just update FM24 to reflect the new season, but my question is why not? All they needed to do was update the available players, teams and kits, where’s the issue with that?
Ever since they delayed it was clear they were so far out over their head, first time in years they have to actually code a lot but its such a shitty feeling when they said fm24 was the way it is because they were already focusing on fm25 that year and now we are here and its a full shitshow. And Miles is just such a prick tbh.
at this point im slowly getting to the phase of being fine with Fm24 for another year and see what Fm26 brings us
100% the same
I’m slowly at the point of giving up on the studio all together. I’ve never seen anything like this. The communication is horrific.

As you say, no communication is not a good look, and it's starting to feel ominous that the next news is bad news which I hope it isn't
Classic SI. Their communication is abysmal, totally underwhelming compared to large and active community.

Yep...I can only interpret this as something like SI internally is mortified by FM25 and is afraid for the public to see it.
I think it's pretty clear that the radio silence implies it's all a bit of a car crash. If they had anything to show, they'd show it. I reckon they'll release something on 31st and it'll probably be "Coming to FM25, women's football! More news to follow!"
It's clearly in trouble behind the scenes. Something has gone wrong and they can't sort it out. If they were confident they'd be advertising now

Just play FM24 for another season using an unofficial database update.
We are such a loyal fanbase and this last few months has been shocking from SI.
Praying they do us a solid and give us a surprise early release 🙏
3:00 I only bought fm because you upload videos and your style of simulating whole season is something that I have time to do and I really enjoy it some times
I have only come across this channel later but yeah, if I hadn’t watched Zealand videos I wouldn’t have gotten the game for myself either, now I am starting my 9th season in a Hartlepool save!
SEGA won’t allow it, but they should scrap 25 and announce 26 as a November launch.
No bro I really want to play fm25 I can’t be playing fm 24 for that long
Just give them until Friday like the said and stop moaning if they don’t release content by then them moan and be very worried
Why wait until November. Release it a week after the transfer window closes end of August. I know the money people won't allow it, but this is 100% what they should do to make the game the best it can be, and avoid having release a "new" FM26 game only a few months later which will also not go down well with the player base.
@@onlineretro no moaning here. The man asked for opinions and I provided mine.

Consumers allowed companies to conduct their business like this. When they treat us like rubbish and when they give us bad product after bad product yet us as consumers still give them our money.
It is my belief that they’ve fucked it, nothing to deliver and so on.
I enjoy watching you because your realistic the amount of people that play and they have a massive squad and moral is all perfect and never lose
its almost as if they dont care about the loyal fan-base this game has, 0 updates, delays upon delays and just silence! its like they dont realize that some people rely on this game as an income like yourself.

Oh levy would not risk a muti million dollar franchise for the inclusion of womens football.

@@paulmckeraghan3413 Well, we find out soon, buddhy.
Also, the screenshots on Steam are exactly the same as the Console edition listed on the Xbox store.
Fine with me FM24 forever 👍
It's been a complete car crash from the off
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁👍
I started with a football manager game back on the Amiga, away back in the mid 90's, then started on my very first pc, when Championship Manager came out, and been a fan ever since, bought every game that came out every year, without hesitation.
Me too.
It will drop on Friday, bad news always does do.
They should lower the price of FM25 to 30 euro max, if they release it at 60 euro it will be a disaster move . No buy for me.
I reckon it will be full price. But it will probably be in the steam summer sale to boost sales.
It's preorder price is and always has been 30
What are your thoughts on doing cesena fc save and get them back to Serie A and back to get European football like they did in the 70s
Fair play to you keeping the content coming.
Respect fo coming out and saying something
Am thinking they going to cancel fm25
contractually impossible, FM25 will be released no matter how bad it is
Licencing means that that cannot happen.
Rolled back to the fm24 match engine is my prediction.
They probably can't do that contractually. They likely have to deliver one Football Manager game every financial year.
They said that they've been working on moving to Unity for three years before this release cycle. Four years at this point. What's going on?
Sick new background I ain't watched in a minute (I got bored of FM24 in like August)
I totally agree with you. As the hype is almost dead right now, the silence from the devs are HUGE! And this silence is very bad... It could be anything, and just the fact that they dind´t progress with the new game/engine at all. Sad months approaching for us FM players... Greetings from Brazil.
its crazy that we still only know what we knew back when it was delayed
Thanks for finally saying this!
I have played this game since the 1st champ manager and I can't believe this is going on
At this point my interest in 25 Is purely about getting a sneak peak at what 26 might look like.
I’m confident we will get news on Friday 🎉
the latest type of comunication was that they posted the recomended specs for the game on steam thats the closest theyve done,
Given the reaction to the last round of announcements, I don't blame them for not signposting in advance of the announcement.
Yes.
If it's bad news, they should at the very least promise an official data update for FM24 to cover the 24-25 season with the official branding sponsorships they've acquired; it's the best gesture they could make if something has gone wrong.
in all fairness i wouldnt be surprised if they just decided to bin fm25 and release this whole updated football manager with fm26 in november
I think that the PR manager really need a good feedback session on how this s- show is managed!
I love that they released an update saying theyd be more transparent... And then said nothing lol
Its probably on Thursday. I seems as that is often their weekday of info(new term catching on).
Not end of January yet !
But in October they said wait until March for the release?
It needs to be said mate, the whole thing has been a complete shambles!
I see other delay coming
They did say the end of Jan though. And the first announcement trailer was the last day of the month
They tend to release news on a Thursday so if we hear nothing come the 30th Jan then yeah, start panicking.
Could it be that Fm 25 to be scraped so that fm 26 could be the finished article ready when it comes out?
While we're at it, any chance getting a new edition of Eastside Hockey Manager, SI? /kidding (but seriously, it would be great)
the one from the 2003/04 season was phenomenal!
Have you maybe considered doing some other footy/wrestling game in the short term.
Certainly going to be interesting next 7 days or so.
We just need to remain patient.
they tried to fix something when it wasn’t broken. no one plays fm for the graphics, there’s fifa for that
I see it differently. I think if the game was in real trouble they would’ve said something by now about it being delayed again/cancelled. The fact they haven’t said anything yet makes me think they are just working to a Friday 31st news release, they tend to leave stuff to the last minute with updates
I do think the game will be buggy/not great and FM26 will be more what they wanted FM25 to be
I’m in 2 mind to even buy it or not, because if it’s £40-£50 to then spend that again in November for FM26, but I’m also thinking do I want to play fm24 for another 9 months.
I can't shake the feeling that it's getting cancelled. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if FM26 comes out on its old build and old engine
So my uninformed thoughts as a project manager who has done many software implementation in other industries:
- this close to an indicative release date, they should be in a testing phase. So there could/should be plenty of materials available for marketing releases
- the lack of a release date, a beta date and any other evidence of progress is concerning that they are not on track and quite far behind
- a lot of people think this stuff is easy, or SI are bad or lazy, but it's quite possible SI can be good and working 20 hour days and it still falls behind. They could be bad though
- if it does slip again they underestimated how much effort was needed which is not the same as it's taking longer than it should, such a large underestimation should be avoidable but usually it's a deadline (e.g. annual release date) that has been dictated from up above that was never realistic but they don't want to be told until you've tried and failed (and then that's your fault not theirs)
- although it's probably trending to marketing on social media and they started to recognise the value of Luke et al, content creators are a drop in the ocean of sales. 14m copies of FM24 sold, there's a vast silent majority of casual players who never watch twitch or youtube
- my sympathies for content creators who derive an income from FM, as a player who is still enjoying FM24 but busy with work, gym, life, making sure the mortgage is paid, FM25's release date is way down in the 'it'll be nice' category.
Any ideas for a late save on fm24 really struggling to get into anything want a different sort of challenge
I said this on one of your community posts the other day. I understood the whole 'end of January we will have info' but radio silence didnt fill me with any hope. Something seriously wrong behind the scenes. I genuinely wory for the future of the game/company.
Don't worry be happy
The announcement said news would be at the "end of January".
January has not finished.
I'm still playing fm24 without even thinking about it
kind of ironic that they are removing shouts from the game and now no shout outs from them about the game
I’m just stunned, the world is going to end and I don’t know what I’m going to do day to day.
😅
Is it possible that they might delay the game till the start of next season...
What do we do if fm25 is really disappointing? We keep playing fm24?
i think I've pretty much given up on FM25 by now, and there's a slight possibility - so has SI
Ever since they delayed it was clear they were so far out over their head, first time in years they have to actually code a lot but its such a shitty feeling when they said fm24 was the way it is because they were already focusing on fm25 that year and now we are here and its a full shitshow. And Miles is just such a prick tbh.
