Yeah, so I look at these things regarding elite colleges and stuff, and I certainly do question what material effect that has on a person's life. And, of course, I do not advocate going to a so-called lesser college, but at the bottom line, if the material studied is the same at all the universities, then, again, what is the real value of going to an elite college? (By the way, I think Tom was excellent as Loki and the other roles that he has played).
the whole point of institutions such as Eton atp are not just for the academic potential. whilst teaching there is exemplary, students who go there don't just go for its academic prospects or the tradition that it upholds, but the facilities that the school is able to provide, particularly in areas of school life outside the classroom, whether that's in music, drama, or sports, of which Eton has some of the best in the world. these facilities are able to cultivate such extraordinary talents in numerous different capacities, as seen by the 20 odd PMs or here with Tom, a prolific actor. the name 'Eton' is also a brand now, so the school is able to attract thousands of extremely high profile speakers in countless industries and areas of work that so few schools would be able to, and getting that connection between these experts and the students is what will help students later on in jobs, as they already have had access at a young age to the creme de la creme of their industry, immediately propelling them further in their respective industry. and though the teaching material is the same, its the quality of teaching that is different between public and state schools, elite or not, and students have a genuine desire to push themselves beyond the teaching material, particularly when at such a school where academic pressure is high and everybody wants to out do the next person.
