I feel like without that new faction, this is more like a Sins I remake than an actual sequel. That's still really good, but there's not enough different from the first game imho.
At the start of development on the nr.2 it was said that we were going to get more backstory maybe a faction for that but it quickly dissapeared in the ether.

They do have expansions planned you can preorder with a special edition, but the base game looks to have at least the same content as rebellion on release.

Yep! The Sins II soundtrack is by him. No idea who he is or what else he's done, but his unique sound is a large part of what gives Sins its atmosphere.
It'll become an interesting balancing act as you place structures to spread your culture, you can possibly spread it to farther reaches via the orbits and use your new abilities for sneak attacks
Fourth faction will "probably" come in the season pass, but actual facts will be revealed around launch. The sixth capital ships were removed, but all of their abilities are available as ship slot items, so essentially they are still in the game.
Yeah I noticed that the sixth cap ship was missing in this video. I was like, where is the Discord Battleship. That ship had a rather potent ability with "Revenge from Beyond" which marked friendly ships when destroyed deals 650 damage to nearby units upon explosions. If you spammed a 1000 dirt cheap corvettes with that, that's about 650,000 damage combined. And the best part is, Advent Rebels faction could reanimate their dead ships so you would get about 35-40% of your fleet back. I hope they didn't remove too much from the game which made the Advent special and indisputably the strongest faction in the game.
@@luminatrixfanfiction Don't worry, I think all of those mechanics are still in the game even if the actual ship model isn't in the game. Can't be sure ofc because I haven't played the Advent preview copy. I know that TEC and Vasari have their sixth ship's abilities available as slot items.
@@Isnogood12 And things like Commerce Culture Spread and Trade Port Culture mean Ice, Desert, Terran and Oceanic planets will have a high native culture output, plus the Military Structure Culture Resistance research the TEC Loyalists have might resist it?
Im so happy to play Advent, great work! One Question but not directly about the Advent, will be soon the fleet capacity increased? In my opinion, 2200 is not enough to combining ships comfortable.
What i really would like to see are weapons missing and destroyable hardpoints. 8:56 also those laser shots moving sideways looks weird and a bit too big from such small ships 🙃
The Deliverance Engine in Sins 1 spread culture and dealt damage to allegiance. The Vasari Kostura Cannon dealt minor damage to structures and made direct phase jumping possible to the targeted planet. The TEC Novalith Cannon is what you're thinking of.
Please add a way to turn off the nova cannon and deliverance engine. Also please add a way to turn of the ability to convert your fleet for the advent. It is extremely broken.
OK, so... Sins of a Solar Empire 2 is shaping up to be a rehash of all that we've got in the original game, plus the expansions: we've got the same ship types, classes, abilities... factions, Titans. Even the designs? Kudos for implementing items to ships, possibly offsetting innate disadvantages; I don't recall the original game having that. No offense, but what's gonna be NEW in this game? New sides? New factions? New ships? Game looks to make the most out of new GPUs: it looks gorgeous. But on what kind of specs will it run at the bare minimum?
All the original lines were re-recorded and should be very close to what you remember but at higher quality (most of the same voice actors as well). We re-recorded them so they would match the same sonic footprint as all the new lines - there is about 4x more vocal lines. The ships even have different emotion lines based on how well the battle is going etc.
@@connernickerson5509 Trying to turtle against the advent is a losing strategy due to the advent's ability to spread their religion rapidly. Also trying to counter it by building the broadcast center building is also doomed since each building uses up a slot which limits what other things you could build. Plus the advent constantly spamming abilities to disrupt enemy capital ships, which is a big disadvantage to TEC players.
They have large shields, but very low armor and durability, which are far more important for a ship's survivability. Even having 100 durability after pierce will reduce damage done to 50%, so the higher durability Vasari and Tec have far more effective hit points. They also have better armor on their ships that can't be reduced like durability can, which makes them even harder to kill. But then again the Advent ships can regenerate their shields very rapidly... it's gonna be tasty!
When the game releases on steam, Epic will receive its major Summer update which includes Advent, the two will become identical and move forward in parity
i do hope that this showcase is hiding some things, like the discordia capital ship it was among my favourites, and it would be a shame if it didnt make it into this game
There were a number of complications for those units from gameplay, art style, and scope and we ultimately decided to cut them from Sins 2 very early on. We think when we add more capital ships to Sins 2 we can do a better job this time around with fresher units.

How is the fleet transported back to the homeworld? I dont think Advent should have that, its more like a Vasari thing... I just played the first game. Could you guys add cloaking and invisibility. I dont remember anything like that in SOSE except the Vasari phasing out of real space or something... and the Illuminator's "hologram skill" I think...
No Trade/Recall is terrible lmfao/Sanctify is terrible/nerf to scouting with scrying taking an ability slot instead of a single ship skill. Man F even using culture for offense is locked behind these new race powers

Ironic comment, Sins 1 feels like half a game if you don't buy the dlc.
I like the new design of the capital ships. The best-looking titan, I think , is the vasari that looks like an alien ufo.

They are strong, but so are the vasari and TEC unique abilities as well. Some of them can be countered with a moderate investment into culture.

Mods can increase it as much as you want. Heck, you might even be able to edit a .dll file to increase it without even mods.

Wasn't the deliverance engine a nuke in the first game? Quite a change unless im remembering wrong. Thought every faction had a nuke cannon.
