Late Night Munchies: South Central LA

- Chefs Spank and News are Trap Kitchen, two culinary entrepreneurs from the South Central neighborhood of Los Angeles who’ve skyrocketed to success from their humble beginnings selling street food to their empire of food trucks, restaurants, cookbooks, and more.
Trap Kitchen takes MUNCHIES on a late-night food tour of their stomping grounds around South Central to show off a lesser-seen side of Los Angeles food culture: from a 33-year old Black owned taco spot, to one of their favorite local Jamaican restaurants, to Inglewood’s first Black-owned wine bar, and finally a late-night brunch spot serving up everything they need after a long night of drinking.

GRUB LIKE THIS ON DA REGULAR 💯🤷🏿♂️
Hella good spots taco Pete's is fire
@@UncElroyDaKang bled her 😹
@@youngtender8737 fr for no reason too lmao
I love how these cats promoted 3 of their local restaurants being business owners themselves. Thats big energy! Its so dope to see black business owners look out for each other. God bless these dudes 🙏
I haven’t been to LA in years, but watching this makes me want to visit soon. I love to see good vibes and black restaurants thriving.
I haven’t been in five yrs ☹️ I’m trying to go this yr I miss Cali so much
So dope to see all these brothers and sisters thriving in the culinary world!

We need more late night munchies in LA and with these guys! They fun and genuine
Yeah, they're filled with all sorts of culinary knowledge like "pastrami is an LA thing", lol.
@@PapagenoMF pastrami is a hit in all the local neighborhood spots my boy. It’s not just a Jewish deli NYC thing
true
Loved this episode - more content like this please!
LMAO they just ate and got turnt throughout the episode I love it
Being from LA I love seeing the different versions of tacos. We all grew up eating certain foods with a certain budget . I hate when ppl immediately tear others down for "that's not a real taco" . LA is a melting pot . Loved this and hope to see more episodes like this
The west coast is known for tacos doesn’t matter what race I honestly feel if you lived on the west coast at any time you had to have a taco 🥰
Pastrami taco?? Hell naw you can keep that ish
@@JiminyKriketz Nobody asked you to have some anyways dummy
Lmao nah don't try and bring up budget when an authentic street taco is literally a dollar ($1.25 at most) so don't even try and excuse putting ketchup and adding pastrami (adding ingredients does NOT make a taco less expensive, just worse tasting)
Was the pastrami tacos a Cali thing or Black people thing? I’m curious, it’s the first time I’ve seen that combo. I’m from the Midwest!
I was born and raised in L.A. and it's good to see some brothers out enjoying life and being successful. Good look.
BLACK OWNED WINE SELECTION WAS FIRE
I am a sous chef myself so I have love for spreading knowledge of good food. I also think we need more people like these guys helping local restaurants get exposure and also sending a good message to the youth that you can do something positive and have a good life and live well. Much respect.
I love to see it!! Seeing this type of representation doesn’t happen too often! Young successful men minding their business and having a good time. Keep going trap kitchen 💯!! Big ups to all the restaurants that were featured cooking for the culture!
I love seeing Black LA culture!
This was very fun and educational to watch. It is so awesome to watch these young people support and love each other. Miss Annie
These guys are cool man. I need another episode with these homies trying new spots. It’s all about fun and this episode was hella fun 💯
These brothers inspired to chase my dreams in the food industry. Happy to see them getting the recognition they deserve 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Hope your journey is going well! We got this!
I'm just an assistant rn but I can't wait to be a chef.
Happy to see Trap Kitchen featured, real neighbourhood startup love. Also the food is the best it's looked in a while - I'm a foodie but this episode was all comfort food
Y’all should’ve seen the smile on my face when he ordered grits late night! 👏 I thought I was the only one who does that!🔥
Cali Black folk swear they don’t have an accent but look 😂lol love it

They are opening a Court Cafe here in Las Vegas at the corner of Flamingo and Cambridge. I didn't know the type of food on offer until this video and I will be sure to visit them once they open. I hope they are successful here.

Stfu Courtney, you know damn well you would never visit these places. 😂
It's nice to see young people and new restaurants coming out with different food choices that are out of the norm. Would love to try any of these places! Unfortunately, I'm not on the west coast.
Livin’ the life! That food looks amazing. I want some lobster and waffles today!
Good to see them shining.... Hard work pays off.
Turkey and Chicken tacos is a crazy combo lmfaoo
Everything from 1010 looks amazing! Especially those oysters and wings!
i love to see this side of LA, it really shows how dope the city is regardless of the politics.
People don't really care about Republicans and Democrats out here.
From the intro I knew this video was gonna be fire… and it was! 😁 Love the energy, food looked delicious! And I wonder how strong the drinks were? 😀
Yassssss. Love stuff like this. Keep it going
YOU SOMEBODIES GREAT GRANNY, SPELL CORRECTLY! 🤷🏿♂️💯

I really enjoyed this! If I’m ever in LA I’m going to all of these restaurants. Especially Inglewine/1010 Wine and Events
Don't go to LA. Such a trash city where you don't feel comfortable walking down the street. Bunch of junkies and homeless people walk the streets and smells of feces and piss.
Makes me proud being from south central L.A. loved this video
Dam I remember when they first started 💪🏾💪🏾 love to see it fellas
Dope episode. Been messing with Trap Kitchen, Taco Mell since the underground food truck days 🔥 🔥. Def gonna spend money in the future at a couple spots highlighted here.
Always wanted to try tacos Pete
This is awesome!
Smiling and enjoying life. That's wassup.
South Central is a hidden gem,...
Only taco place is South Central, rest of the places is Inglewood
Spank said no mimosas 😂
This the littest episode of munchies lol
Wtg giving positive exposure to the community. Been in Compton for a year now, I am gonna hit up Taco Pete's.
It’s funny how Vice will get other chefs a van to tour the city meanwhile we drinking and driving in this TOUR and they’re not chefs
NEED MORE OF THIS JUST ORIGNAL FR
“First shot of the night” didn’t you just have **wink** Kool-Aid? 😂
