- Having the debilitating illness of alcoholism is not only about the inability to control our drinking, it also has an element of emptiness, depression, and overwhelming sadness that comes along with it. Beth H., who is an author of a Big Book story, shares her journey from that sinking feeling of being empty on the inside, to a brand new life in recovery. She is so positive and inspirational it is hard to listen to this talk without a smile and a deep appreciation for her as a speaker, and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Thank you SO much Beth for your courage and strength!
