I used a small straight screwdriver without bending it. When replacing the lamp, it is much easier if you are looking down at the socket - it's a lot easier than pushing up - just like replacing the wheel on a bike. Changing from the halogen to the LED cut the electrical demand on the transformer, which had been overheating.
Thank you for sharing! This is great you were able to resolve the issue using different methods. Glad to hear the LED has helped with the load on your system! Have a blessed day 🙂
I am having an issue with this bulb. When I pulled out the burnt-out bulb, the pins stayed in. After shutting off the breaker, I tried to pull the pins out with pliers but they are absolutely stuck, almost as if they have been fused to the inside of the socket. I thought maybe i was doing something wrong, so i decided to remove a healthy bulb on the same track to see how it should look. I cannot get this bulb out at all. No amount of pulling or twisting in either direction will move it at all. Note: these bulbs were put in place in 2005 when we built the house and we’ve never had to replace one before now, which is honestly amazing. I know this is an old video but i hope you’re still reading comments. Have you ever experienced anything similar? Edit: After working with it further, I realized there are screws that must be loosened to get the bulbs out, then tightened after you get the new bulb in. I wanted to post this update in case anyone was having a similar problem ☺️
Just make sure the power is off to the track light head, there is other lighting so you can see safely and if you are on a ladder make sure you are comfortable removing a light bulb from a track light head, other than that you can use this method on an installed track light 🙂
Genius on the screwdriver!!! I'm retired and trying to do my own small home repair. I just changed out 25 of these landscape bulbs - too bad i didn't see this before i started this replacement effort. I'm going to make that screwdriver right now and put it in the toolbox!
We find that aligning the bulb pins with the socket pin holes while inserting the bulb helps greatly with inserting the bulb. If you find that you are forcing the bulb into the fixture double check alignment. Hope that helps 🙂
Unfortunately, we do not have experience with that light so we wouldn't be any help to you 😔 Have you tried searching the internet using the part number of your light fixture for the search?
These type of fixtures can be a challenge to get bulbs in and out for sure! The trick is lining up the pins of the bulb with the socket holes. Easier said then done. You got this 💪
The glass cover came off our MR16 bulb while it was still in the fixture. Is there a way to affix it back on? Or do we just need to replace the whole thing with a new bulb?
If your fixture has a lens that the light passed through you should be fine but if you are uncomfortable you can always replace the bulb. We offer LED MR16 options here if you are interested 👉 www.totaloutdoorlighting.com/parts-accessories-and-wire/bulbs.html

Good tip
Thank you 😃
So you have to take the fixture down to replace the bulb? Looks like this can’t be done while it’s still in the track.

Wtf with this? Now I got the thing out and can't get a new one in. My fixture is different, same bulb.

Minta whatsapp-nya dulu mau ganti lampu depan sorot bohlamnya pakai bohlam LED bisa nggak Viar roda tiga
Ours twist. I had to locate a large suction cup. Pain in the rear to change.
That's what I'm wondering with mine
