This time I managed to fit the timestamps in the video description's character limit. You can find more content like this in my playlist of audio collections: All my MGS clean audio collections can be found here: ruclips.net/p/PLIrsJwRfZZe50_XthO966oQIBRwyTv96J
If you need any further help locating a specific dialogue, let me know. I have extensive notes on the game script so I should be able to find it. Like all MGS games, there are a lot of repeats with small variations depending on what the player has done, or where/when the conversation is accessed. In previous MGS games, these situations are handled by each variation being its own sound file, and the game assembles what makes sense for the player's playthrough. But in MGS4, they didn't go to the extra effort, at least not with Otacon's dialogues. Conversations that have any variations are unnecessarily repeated in full. To avoid repeated dialogue, I carefully edited them down to ensure each conversation and variation occurs once and only once in this video, just like they're arranged in previous games.
Also, the 'kept you waiting huh?' at the start isn't something I added. It's the first voice file you find in the directory. Don't think it's used anywhere in game, so it must be an easter egg left in by the developers (hello, Kojima Productions!).

when you put the game on PS3 for the 1st time it will install the data while snake smokes with some text on the screen, and when the instalation finishes he says:
      "kept you waiting huh?"

i like how David Hayter slightly changes Snakes voice based on how old he is like how in MGS 1 and 2 he sounds sharper but in MGS 3 and 4 he sounds tired, grunts and has a lower pitch voice

    Snake: Otacon?
Otacon: all the time I put into this technology...😠😠
    Snake: Otacon! Are you..angry?
Otacon: you just....😠 It's like......😠 NOTHING but yourself.. that's ONLY thing you think about..
Snake: (Sighs) Look, I'm sorry. I promise I'll be more careful about how I use the thing.
Otacon: Yeah? Well, you better! 😠

This, is underrated and amazing. Idk If you plan on doing other MGS game CODEC compilations but if so you definitely earned a subscriber.
Like MGS2, Peace Walker, Portable Ops., Ground Zeroes, Phantom Pains, and MG Rising.

Always happy to hear that this work is appreciated. When I set out on this project, I was focusing on the games who had the most material unknown and unpublished on the internet. Games that need the most help. So Peacewalker was next and last on my list. However, I've been getting a lot of requests to do MGS2, so I want to look at that as well. Also, with the help of someone else I've had a major breakthrough on MGS4's in-game audio, so I'm compiling that together before moving on to other games (It's a lot!).
I can't make any promises on the other games, since all of them thus far have presented unique roadblocks for cracking into their files. But I can promise that I will try. It mostly comes down to whether I can extract complete collections, and whether that material is higher quality than what you can get elsewhere on the internet. Or at least has some unused material.

Just wanted to leave a comment and thank you for your hard work. I go around the internet every few months and look for a collection of all the codecs from the games in good quality. Your codec collections are by far the best versions!
All I need now are MGS 1 and MGS 2. Then again you made a great version of Twin Snakes so that scratches my MGS 1 itch.
It's true that there are a bunch of audio rips for MGS 2 but I've yet to find a good complete codec collection.
Thanks again for your hard work!

Yep. They only gave Snake two people to talk to. And about an hour of this material was left unused in the game's code. I have a theory that they must have been torn on whether they wanted the Codec at all or to just rely on Otacon's advice coming up during gameplay.

Why codec calls out of chronological order?

    • @ZappBranniglenn
      @ZappBranniglenn  2 года назад +5

They are in a chronological order. In every MGS game I've looked at, I notice voice lines are numbered first by 'Main Story' conversations. The ones that are forced on the player during normal gameplay. Once that is finished. it moves on to all the optional conversations initiated voluntarily by the player, going one character at a time, one in-game area at a time. The internal ordering isn't always perfect, but I think it's great organization to make it easy for listeners (or the game's developers) to find what they're looking for. Even the unused conversations are in the order you would theoretically hear them. So I follow that arrangement and make the necessary corrections when putting these videos together.

@@paulsmith9192 I might. These are difficult and time consuming to put together. Each game has its own challenges and roadblocks, so I don't like to make promises. Is there anything in particular from MGS2 you're looking for? I have my own material put together from other peoples' work before I started doing these myself. I might have what you're looking for without you having to wait for me to post a full audio dump.

    Thankyou very much.
Is it possible to give a download link for the files or something?
I love to hear the codec of the games

Here's a link with the individual files drive.google.com/file/d/1BYt4bD0t_4MjrtEMHxiHfsXgXvhkK9jj/view?usp=sharing
Alternatively, this is a link for mp3s of all the codec collections. That's more convenient if you just want to listen to them on your phone.

I don't have the google drive space to upload Peace Walker's. As for MGS3 3DS, ask the person that I credited for data mining them on that video. I don't feel comfortable sharing his work without permission
