    Rolex being demoted is absolutely class! Recently been to Dubai walked into the AD and all the salesmen were w**kers. Looked us up and down with no service at all. Opposite to that walked into Vacheron Constantin expecting to be laughed out of the shop and the head of sales was one of the nicest ladies we’ve ever met. Showing us all the models available, talking us through their rich history and genuinely having time to speak to us. Rolex make some incredible watches but they do not give a toss for anyone.

      They need to reduce their lineup by 95%. You can't create desire for a brand when theres a different watch for each day of the year.
      Look at Gordon Ramsay when he goes to a restaurant and the chef's offer 70 dishes on the menu...how the hell is anyone supposed to know what they want??
      12 different models. That's what grand Seiko needs. Only 12 max, design wise...then add in your different dials.
      Quality over quantity (in design, obviously, their build quality is second only to Lange.)

    • @sylinmino
      @sylinmino Год назад

      @@Snakebloke I disagree completely. GS's lineup is smaller than Rolex's, much smaller than Cartier's, and only a bit larger than Patek's. The problem is, those brands organize their models better and make 100 options look like 10. Grand Seiko makes 100 options look like 1000.
      Better classification of their watches into their case designs and style would go a LONG way. In reality, all of GS's watches should be able to fit into less than 10 lines (44GS, 62GS, Ultra Slim Dress, Original GS, Evolution 9, Sports GMT, Sports Chrono). Past that, subsections for mechanical vs quartz vs spring drive.
      Then, also overhaul all the website photos because they are BAD.

    *JLC and Grand Seiko are God Tier* for me 😌 _Absolute class_ to say the least. JLC is the watchmaker’s watch and Grand Seiko is the ultimate combination of perfection, precision, toughness, longevity and originality-the ultimate under-the-radar WIS watch. Same reason why Sinn is absolute class to me too. Add GP, Zenith, Longines and Tissot and that’s my top 6. Omega, Oris, H.Moser and Nomos will complete my top 10. Tudor would be 11. A Rolex has become the LV bag of watches: too many fakes and especially too many chavs, pimps, pikeys and wannabes wearing them; too much violence around them. The other day a 24-year old boy was shot to death over his fake Rolex at broad daylight at a busy beach near Amsterdam. Fuck that. This comes on top of all the disgusting antics Rolex itself has been displaying the last decade.
    (Edit: broad not brought.)

      Agree with JLC. But disagree about Grand Seiko. Lexus and Toyota are both from Toyota Motor Co. but Toyotas don't disappoint you. Can't say that about Seiko. I've seen SARBs with poor quality control and a solar mecha-quartz that stopped working correctly after being left in the hot sun for a few hours. If the same company that sold Lexus also sold cruddy Toyotas than I couldn't respect Lexus either.

    • @JDYTC
      @JDYTC Год назад

      @@joshitheyoshi2533 I don’t know what poor quality control means in this case, but I can imagine that JLC’s is better than Seiko’s. Nonetheless every brand has a lemon slipping through the cracks once in a while. I’ve seen Daytona’s that broke down (under warranty). A friend went motor crossing with his JLC and it was competitor in ruins, while doing the same with his SKX no problem. But most importantly, you state you disagree about *Grand Seiko* while complaining about regular Seiko’s SARB, which are not Grand Seiko’s-you do you and I have no problem with agreeing to disagree, but that’s just straight up ridiculous.

    • @joshitheyoshi2533
      @joshitheyoshi2533 Год назад +1

      @@JDYTC I explained my reasoning. If Lexus is Grand Seiko and Toyota is Seiko - why can't the Seiko Company make decent watches up and down the price hierarchy the way Toyota makes decent cars up and down it's price hierarchy? If Toyota Camry was a piece of junk for the price - I couldn't respect Lexus as a brand. Just in the way that a several hundred dollar SARB or Seiko Prospex solar mecha quartz is not made well enough for it's price - so I can't respect Grand Seiko. (Also comparing a JLC to a sports watch for ruggedness is what's straight up ridiculous! JLC's do not compete on ruggedness. You have to judge a watch based on what it's meant for and sold for. Do you see anyone climbing mountains or surfing in the ocean on JLC's website lol? If your friend is taking a JLC motorcrossing why not also wear an expensive silk gown motorcrossing and complain that it tears? Must be inferior to other guy's cheap protective motorcrossing clothes that didn't tear!)

    • @joshitheyoshi2533
      @joshitheyoshi2533 Год назад

      And to explain further - the problem with Grand Seiko (and Seiko as a whole) is that they don't do the basics well compared to the competition. They are at the tip-top when it comes to fine dials and polishing and of course Spring Drive. But everything below the tip-top of Grand Seiko (and Seiko as a whole) is inferior to their local competitor Citizen: Seiko 5 movements are inferior to Citizen's Miyota on reliability and durability. Seiko Solar is inferior to Citizen's Eco-Drive on robustness and durability. Grand Seiko High Frequency Quartz is inferior to Citizen Chronomaster on accuracy (the entire point). If a brand and it's larger company fails at the basics - then they aren't elite, period. Maybe if Grand Seiko Spring Drive was a completely separate company I would see it as elite. But if you are mediocre at everything except your very top-of-the-line products (Grand Seiko Spring Drive) - how can that be an elite brand?.

In addition, in view of the disastrous economic situation we have been living through for some years here in Lebanon, we can only fantasize about some of these watches. But after watching Nico talk with such passion for the first time, I subscribed to the channel and have been watching him regularly. I knew nothing about watches but now, thanks to him, I can say I know plenty of stuff and the better thing is listening to him speak about the history of a specific brand or watch. I thought that would be it and totally wasn't trying or interested really in buying another watch. I also assumed you would have to re submit interest in another watch in order for them to consider you again. Who knows. Also in contrast to what you claim about AD'S miss treating their customers, I've never been mistreated by my AD and have always been made to feel welcomed.
