2 years ago I did my master thesis on AR. By the time I finished (4 months later) my findings were already outdated. That's how fast things move in the field of AR development.
@@Drankarful it's like that with so many things though. i mean people study physics and that's something you can never fully grasp because there's always something new. i wouldn't let that discourage you!
Thank you for explaining everything about AR, but most people don’t know that AR technology has a cost. Many people don't know the cost of the 3D model and animation and the basic art design. And more important is the use of AR permissions. Thanks mate I actually used ARCore and unity for making apps on Google Play Store and I have to say for Image recognition it's quite limited and very laborious. But I'm gonna try the other solutions you mentionned :)
@@MatthewHallberg thank you so much! I can't thank you enough for this! I was kinda stuck with this project and easyar seems to be the best free alternative out there... thanks again man
Thanks Matthew! I think you should talk about webXR platforms like 8th wall or ARJS. Because "installing" app for experiencing AR for once is too much.
Hey , Matt What would you recommend for full body AR? I'm working on a project where I think it would be cool, but I haven't come across much about using AR on a body.
@@MatthewHallberg Yeah actually Google ARCore improved since. Hopefully in the new release will be an option to do simple image tracking but with great performance.
I've tried EasyAR 3 and Vuforia. Vuforia has better image tracking. But yeah, their pricing is ridiculous. EasyAR 4 improves things a lot but its free version now has a watermark (It wasn't the case with EasyAR 3)
Why are you paying $ 30K? Because you have multiple targets, or because vuforia is based on a price based on how many times images are detected? Thanks :) I have around 30 target image and I'm worried. I need a virtual bouton, Wikitud do that ?
I have some projects on my GitHub that use it, I just forget what the repos are called. I think I have an arduinio robot one that should have the code that you need at least for the communication part.
MatthewHallberg yeah agree. I tried to import Mapbox, Wikutude to last version of Unity Editor and these SDK's didn't install correctly. I know a video where ARCore was used with geolocation and OPENGL
I mean there is 8th wall which is an AR sdk that could work on devices that dont support arcore or arkit check it out docs.8thwall.com/xr/#introduction
You have a channel about AR development, and you didn't care that most mobile devices don't support AR Core. Well, 2 years later, ARCore is still not supported by the majority of devices, especially the low end. Let's tell all those users who download our games and then cannot install AR Core to "go kick some rocks". - btw, EasyAR is not free anymore
Thank you bro, I'm researching AR these days to make an AR storybook, your vids are helping alot.

It’s so frustrating!
@@MatthewHallberg yes it is. 2 years ago is when they anounce ARcore.
I want to study a doctorate in augmented reality, but I get discouraged by things like that, just forgetting my research.

Yeah really good call actually, I need to brush on on web languages too cause I never use them anymore.
Can you please tell which languages you should learn to start with ar??

Hi, nice video, can you tell me how can I do a unity app to view 3d objects selected by a file browser, to let me open stl or obj files. Thanks
Can you make a video including Location based AR(Mapbox), UNITY AR & firebase for storage?
like the way explain..I wanted to know how can I track feet of any one so they can virtually try on sheos....on java or react-native any idea??
Ok, one more reason to become a millionaire, well done Matthew... well done...
Hahah thanks
100% True "Use Vuforia if you are millionaire"
For surface detection, would wikitude help ?
and is it limited to some certain devices ?
Great info, Always wondered why my arkit and arcore image tracking was really bad. vuforia for million$.
Haha yeah hopefully arkit and arcore will do better with their image tracking soon. Would be nice to just use arfoundation for everything.
@@MatthewHallberg Yeah actually Google ARCore improved since. Hopefully in the new release will be an option to do simple image tracking but with great performance.
@@MatthewHallberg yeah. well arfoundation is still very buggy and documentation on all is limited.
Yeah honestly every time I go to use it it’s different. A little frustrating lol. I think it will be good soon.
That would be awesome though I can’t wait till arfoundation is the solution for everything.

As of ARCore 1.9, they do moving images but not in ARFoundation yet I think.
Just saw that! I really hope it’s good.
Everything was still very advanced to me . And I still don't know what, how do I learn c#
Thank you!
Hey, you haven't made many tutorials on Easy AR. Please make some more especially on surface detection.
Vuforia if you are millennior 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 bro 😍❤️

How did you learn how to develop?
Hi Matthew. What about object tracking?
Can u make tutorial for Ar intractive card?
Are there any good tutorials for EasyAR?
I want to learn everything from you...can you tell me how to contact you...
Do you have pro version of unity? Asking this because of dark theme
I do, I literally can’t function without the dark theme. It’s like a different piece of software I can’t find anything.
@@MatthewHallberg i can relate. My eyes gets sore with the light version. ;/
Sirrrrrr, Please make a video on those bloom effects pleaseeeee, we need to use them in our projects asap 😭😭😭Please help!!!!!
Actually that is on my list to do very very soon!
sir pls help to integrate node MCU(ESP8266) to unity (AR)..... pls pls pls
What do you want to do?
I have some projects on my GitHub that use it, I just forget what the repos are called. I think I have an arduinio robot one that should have the code that you need at least for the communication part.
I want to send data from unity AR app and control hardware wirelessly with the help of an wifi module
First I have to get a new laptop and a new phone 🤞
Hahah yeah sorry I skipped that part
What about AR with geolocation?
Ahh that’s another big headache! Maybe I should revisit that soon.
Checkout 6D.ai
