hi... i want to know what are the meaning of these little icons that appear in the upper right corner as we are progressing stages.. i couldn't find their meaning anywhere

That's all they are, just stage counters. Other games used them, like Dig-Dug and the flowers along the top or Galaga's banners along the bottom.
