I saw them live in Grimsby, UK just days before the first single Runaway Boys was released and I just knew they would explode on the scene and be successful. What a great bunch of guys, they stopped back after the gig to sign autographs and talk. Love em to bits. Peace ✌️.
Been listening to these guys since 1983, going from punk to rockabilly, seemed like what ALOT of us were looking for. Truly rebellious some thought we were wierd but it spoke to us, the music of my parents the same clothes hairdos old cars. "You look like my old man, I hate my old man" they would say, truly rebels with a cause! I still listen to the same music lots of bands like the Cats!😅😅😅
It might have had something to do with Arsenio surprising Brian by mentioning his birthday. Arsenio said, "Your manager let ME know . . . " So maybe the manager himself went directly to Arsenio, bypassing the staff, which wasn't standard operating procedure . . .
Edmunds was the producer, not the manager. The manager in question is still with Setzer, and is a reason the cats didn't get back together sooner. It was the vh1 behind the music that was about Setzer, and not the Stray Cats. His manager tried to downplay what Jim and Lee did in the band. Really pissed them off. And that was 10 years after this video.
No lip singing. No auto tune. Just pure energy
I stayed up late to record this back then. I'll never forget it
Saw these cats front row in '87. Reached up and got a high five from Setzer himself. I haven't washed that hand since.
Stray cats are legends in their own rights. The whole package no competition. Love u stray cats.
Mr. Setzer's a nice guy as well as a stellar musician. I met him at a guitar show in Phoenix about 1990. His orchestra is amazing too. Watch those!
What a Group, What a Sound, Totally Locked in and they make it so effortless..Rock,n,Roll in its purists form ❤️⭐️🌞👊
Rock on!

Those guys were so cool. Setzer single-handedly brought rockabilly back.
I got the stray cat face tattoo on my forearm and I don’t regret it hell no
Don't know why arsenio mocks the manager who gave them their career.

@fuffb140 Thank you for sharing about what happened. Seems Arsenio was trying to help them by waving a red flag.
