If all the patreon content had gone on RUclips, maybe the channel would still be growing? Either way I was a patreon member last year for 6 months and found I got very little value for it.
@@onlineo2263 I think there needs to be a better balancing act between the two platforms. If he starts leaning more and more on patreon I think his exposure and popularity will keep declining on RUclips. Surely 99.9% of his Patreon subs come from RUclips watchers and not other way around.
@@onlineo2263Patreons biggest value isn’t really keeping the subscription. It’s getting it for a month, watching as much as you can for like 5 bucks, and getting out. Maybe every year or so you can pop back in and get another huge cache of content. Otherwise, it’s essentially a donation. Which can be really good. It’s good that people can get paid to do things like what Tom does. Tom might not be able to find a “real” job doing what he does, but what he does is valuable and entertaining, and so it is real, and has value. It’s really good that WE get to decide what has value, instead of having companies hiring people deciding what has value and what doesn’t, if that make sense.
I hate the fact that you can't just purchase 1month on Patreon, it aaaaalways has to be on subscription basis. Well... I don't own a credit card so no content for me I guess 🤷

When I think of feats of human endurance I think of Terry Fox. Bone Cancer at 18, amputated leg, and decided to attempt a run across Canada from coast to coast running 42km a day for 143 days to raise awareness and money for cancer research until the cancer spread to his lungs and he was forced to stop. He passed away 8 months later at 22.

I'd say straight across Hungary from north to south is deffinitely possible. We tend to not fence our aggliculture-fields, and our mountains are usually does not have ridicously steep sections, and no rich stinging undergrowth at all.

Too much farm land here. Compared to the UK, he would constantly be trespassing.. Not to mention it would be near impossible for him to find a place to sleep, unless we want's to sleep in the middle of the farm land.

Russ is a legend, 10k miles is insane. Last year I went on a 8.5k mile road trip in 12 days, 7.8 days my car was running/driving. Cannot believe that man has run farther than that already, absolutely unbelievably awesome.
I hope you keep doing straight line missions and also no road missions. I've been rewatching the Black Country one lately and it's easily some of the best content on your channel. It would be cool to see more of these done in other countries.
You inspired me to do a few adventures this year, its annoying waiting for the English weather to warm up and dry off enough to go and camp overnight. Cant wait to see more from you

I know this is "just" an updates video, but it's such an incredible feat of storytelling at the same time. To see someone so comfortable with your voice and style and spontaneity and conviction is a real treat. I've watched Russ ever since your football mission - and one he did to 'the most rural pub' with another youtuber - He doesn't really promote the charity donation page enough in his videos, he's started doing it a bit more recently but at the start it was all about him and his mission, I don't blame him, it was a personal challenge that he saw he could do some extra good with.
It's criminal how few people know of Russ Cook and project Africa. I completely agree Tom, this is without a doubt the most remarkable feat of human physical and mental endurance. PERIOD.

It is incredible what Russ Cook has done. He has recently upped his daily run up to 75 kms. I find it very emotional to watch what he is doing.

As a dane, not much contrast in the danish country side pretty much just flat ground, and then a bit more flat ground
it would be hard for it to fully count as a straight line mission across a whole country due to the shape of it
Too much farm land here. Compared to the UK, he would constantly be trespassing.. Not to mention it would be near impossible for him to find a place to sleep, unless we want's to sleep in the middle of the farm land.

Russ is a legend, 10k miles is insane. Last year I went on a 8.5k mile road trip in 12 days, 7.8 days my car was running/driving. Cannot believe that man has run farther than that already, absolutely unbelievably awesome.
I hope you keep doing straight line missions and also no road missions. I've been rewatching the Black Country one lately and it's easily some of the best content on your channel. It would be cool to see more of these done in other countries.

I know this is "just" an updates video, but it's such an incredible feat of storytelling at the same time. To see someone so comfortable with your voice and style and spontaneity and conviction is a real treat. I hope you do find an editor who can not only help with the technical parts, but help you continue this storytelling journey. You deserve the help, and also deserve to be picky about it! I'll admit I'm here for the Geoguesser-type stuff more than anything else (more of that "Guess the Date" game plz) but I've loved watching all your content. And thanks for calling out the run across Africa again, I'll admit I'd forgotten about it. Incredible feat.

I've watched Russ ever since your football mission - and one he did to 'the most rural pub' with another youtuber - He doesn't really promote the charity donation page enough in his videos, he's started doing it a bit more recently but at the start it was all about him and his mission, I don't blame him, it was a personal challenge that he saw he could do some extra good with.
