I couldn't agree more with you about that thermostat for the radiator fan. That's just, as you say, BONKERS!!!!!! Unless, of course, it kicks in at a lower temperature than one near the engine outlet would be.????
No because the temp of the water leaving the engine is the best place to monitor, its already cooler down at the bottom, imagine how hot it would have to get before the fan kicked in....!
Is this motor the same as the 84 Magna VF700 as far as the head gasket replacement and timing chain etc? I'm picking one up tomorrow that has a bad head gasket on the back head. Only 24K miles on in and in AMAZING shape otherwise for 750 bucks US.
Hi Andy. Bike is looking great. Is your frame painted or powdercoated? Also, do you happen to know if the original black components are gloss black or a satin black. I'm starting to restore my 83' VF750 and would like to get it back to as original spec if possible.
Hi Matt, my frame was basecoat silver and 2k lacquer. It has been modified lately and when finished it may be powder coated this time, not sure yet. The black components are mainly satin Black. I have many parts for the VF750 including full set of UK spec carbs, perfect working order. A pair of as new forks available soon when I get my new front end in. Rear suspension units etc etc, if you need anything, give me a shout.

@@ANDYPEARCY1 I was agreeing with what you said actually. I guess I didn't word it very well.

As far as I can tell yes, identical in those areas, gaskets and chain. Motor turns backwards though being a shaft drive

@@ANDYPEARCY1 thanks Andy. Assume from the accent you're in the UK up north?
