Man, Air units in a month, when we heard early on that air units will be comming in 2-3 months it felt so far away, but time has gone by so fast, and the constant updates and improvements almost weekly makes it so it never feels stale while you wait for the big update(s). Amazing work so far, cant wait to see everything comming further down the line
@@DramTheThief Will we ever see personal finances instead of having to wait for the Commander to dole out equipment? One of the nice things about C&C Renegade was that you weren't beholden to an overlord, you could buy your own vehicles and equipment with your cut of the harvester stipend so if you wanted a buggy to keep raiding pressure up while everyone else went for tanks, you could do it. Also having the ability for a Commander to append troops to players that they take over when they die would be a godsend, kind of like giving them multiple lives and firepower.
You know I must say, I only just found out about this game yesterday and already I don't need to keep looking for one like it. The sound design is great, The visuals are on point, and the units are perfect for scale size. I was looking for a RTS/fps game on google and silica was the first to pop up. No other game has my attention, and my Lord i wish I could assist you in this endeavor, I would. Until I can find a way, please keep up this great masterpiece. Your on the road to complete a great game. I can't wait to see more units and more maps! Also, if it's not to much to suggest, for the infantry units... Might you look into their animations a bit. I understand completely that the game is early access and I still love it more than any of the other games I play and I'll probably be only playing it for the next few months to years to come, but the infantry units could use a little more livening. Idle animations and combat animations would be a big plus in immersion as well as combat behavior. They're a bit stiff to say the least. Please keep going! You have my loyalty! 🤘🤘🤘

If you manage to pull through holy fk you could be one of the first indie to triple AAA in over a decade and to actually care about your game but you definitely have mountain to climb I wish you the best of luck and hope you make it for all our sakes.
Seems interesting, but i'm concerned about how little the FPS section affects the RTS. Obviously decisions by the commander greatly affect troopers, but the troopers seem to be barely more useful than the npc troops. In one of my old favorite games, Natural Selection 2, the troops had to build the structures, not to mention commanders didn't *have* NPC troops, so the decisions and actions of troopers meaningfully affected the match. Does Silica have any mechanics I'm not seeing which make PC troopers more involved? Or are there any planned? I do think it would be cool if PC troopers could serve as squad commanders, leading NPCs from the front lines in more fluid and effective maneuvers. It would also lessen the commander's need to micromanage battles.
Thought i would try this game out as it looked like nothing I have played before (RTS and FPS) and I've sunk a good 50+ hours in already, I can't get off this game! Love the feedback and communicstion between developer and community and looking forward to the future of this game and community❤
I really like your game , and for this I want to offer a few ideas :1. I see that you are going to add flying equipment, I like this idea, but flying units are not suitable for bugs. I would add artillery , anti - aircraft bugs and a huge boss bug to them . 2. I advise you to make flying equipment expensive or study it, because flying equipment will be the most effective. 3. For people, I would add a new technique like a HUGE armored train on gravel engines on which there will be a lot of automatic turrets and it is possible to transport not only soldiers but also equipment. Just imagine such a situation : your base is being attacked and you called a train , when it arrived all the troops board it and at the last moment leave from a huge army of beetles to another base .Naturally, they can be controlled by an ordinary player . PS. I'm sorry if you didn't understand something or there are errors in the text, I just use translators because I don't know English

Bro I just bought your game and I can't even launch it without it crashing. Can y'all please allow us to lower down the settings before the game loads in the taxing opening screen? (Edit) I ended up having to go into the files to change the settings so the game would run. I would love the option to make the opening screen just an image.

Uh I don't know what to feel about the commander being able to take control of a unit directly. It may be cool for a commander but ironically give a less immersive experience for all. Is it that commanders have too much free time in their hands and it gets boring? isn't giving them the ability to control a unit directly a relief but not a fix of the root of the problem? I'd propose designing the commander experience to reduce idle time so that we don't have to give them the chance to play both sides, that makes the unit role less special :C let the commander be proud of its calculating, strategy and planning, let the soldier be proud of its tactics, accuracy, lethality
Why is the worse version 0.7.2 and the better version is 0.7.19. I may not understand how your update logs work. But I thought the numbers were meant to go higher when updating a game.
They do, the digits only get split through the dots. So 0.7.2 reads zero.seven.two and 0.7.19 reads zero.seven.nineteen That way there can be millions of updates before you have to move onto 0.8.0 Otherwise youd be limited to only 10 versions for each step.
