    Hi, Hedley. I like watching your videos because you pick things that are quite interesting and the information you give on the stuff is really nice to know. Perhaps I would vote for thematic videos if my voting helps but I’d watch a video even if it wasn’t thematic.

    Morning Hedley. I'm not that fussed how you put a video together I'm just chuffed that you do. Your humour always makes me smile which I'm thankful for, cheers Hedley. I'm not going to help here as I text....... I'm happy with whatever suits you just as long as you feel inspired to keep making video's. Thanks for the smiles. All the best, Floss.

      Also thanks for your feedback. It seems that the scattergun approach might be the preferred format. I get that.

      Hey, John. Thanks for the feedback, it's duly noted. The John Bellamy give a group want country, country he'll have.
      Did you catch my little mistake calling John Downing, John Bellamy? In my defence, I'd just been talking about Peter Bellamy.

    That Maria Dallas tune was a belter,I could also hear a bit of a northern soul dance type vibe in there as well 🤔
    Stick with what you do Hedley, you do it brilliantly 👍👍👍

      Thanks, Nick. Yeah, I think that Maria Dallas tune is a corker. There was a RSD release at the week end of Country with fuzz guitar, if that tune sounded a bit more Country it would've fitted in well.

    Hi Hedley - I still need to watch the latest pub video, so thanks for the reminder...I'm no country fan but I can be steered towards Americana and funk. I watch your videos because I enjoy them, especially the folk-related insight, so more output will be good (not Mazzy level output though). 'Ambush' is the kind of thing I come here for...Peter Bellamy not so much. Cheers Dale

    Hi Hedley. I will definitely check out Ernest's new channel. As far as your question goes. I have enjoyed your channel the way that you have delivered it all along. I do like the mix. I just posted my first series with a theme in over thirteen years. Now I know that a lot of people do not stick with watching a themed series. So I am questioning its continuance. We will see... Anything you want to do will work. You are great at it. I like the honesty in your reviews. I will check out Clinton {Cornershop} and a few others. I was interested in hearing what you thought of the Link Wray. I am a fan of his music. But I was a bit letdown with the album. You are right. It has been a VC staple since I started in this community. I think I was expecting a lot more. Interesting info on the Shack 3 Tracks. I may like that one more. Thank you Hedley. Really nicely done~

      Hey Rob.
      Are you talking about your bootleg series of videos? I'm interested in that, mainly as it's an area of record collecting I'm mostly oblivious to.
      I really like the sound of those Link Wray sessions. I think they sound as if The Band sat around in a bar, picking tunes on knackered instruments and drinking too much beer. If The Band weren't Canadian, but came from the backwoods of Kentucky.
      Cheers - Hedley

    I lean toward showing a variety of records. Show some recent finds, show some country records, show some electro pop: mix it up… and show something for everything. That fuzz guitar on Ambush is killer!

    • @anotherfatbeardedmantalkin5893
      @anotherfatbeardedmantalkin5893  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! Thanks for your input. I think you're right, a variety is probably the most viewer friendly. And it's all about views, right? Ha!
      There was a compilation of country fuzz guitar rekeased this RSD, but I'm pretty sure Ambush wasn't on it. Probably not country enough.

    Hi Hedley. The stand is very elegant. I wanted something like that in the new place, but in the event I had to put my equipment atop the horizontal Kallax, so that will have to do. Pick and mix videos are always my preference. Ha, love the hype on the Maria Dallas record, I wonder who wrote it (her dad maybe?). Her voice sounds oddly like a man's voice on a 33 rpm record playing at 45rpm, though nothing wrong with that (I had endless fun doing that kind of thing as a kid). Peter Bellamy sounds like the ticket, a bit of a Martin Carthy flavour though even more hardcore. The Link Wray/Billy Hodges deal sounds a bit like Rockpile before its time. 6inchpianist John Bellamy? You're really losing it now. Great selection!

    • @anotherfatbeardedmantalkin5893
      @anotherfatbeardedmantalkin5893  6 месяцев назад

      Ha ha ha! John Bellamy! I wondered if someone would spot that. I noticed after I'd uploaded it. In my defence I'd only just been talking about Peter Bellamy, and there's simply too many Johns.
      It does seem like the consensus is a pick and mix approach to showing records. I'll still do specific country rock and related videos, but I can see the sense in a bit of variety.
      I meant to say, I watched your video about Lennon's Shaved Fish. I didn't know it was a compilation! That cover has always put me off, and the title doesn't exactly sell it to me either. I've always found that, despite having Imagine and Give Peace a Chance in his arsenal, Lennon writes rather bleak and troubling songs. The production often adds to that.
      Cheers - Hed

    I tend to watch all your videos regardless, Hedley, but of course if you feature only ' Folk' records then I'll be particularly interested.
    ' Trapezoid' what a great word, conjurs up Images of an obscure 70s proggy Krautrock band that never quite made it.
    Maria Dallas has the squeakiest vocal but
    ' Ambush' certainly has a great energy and that psych fuzz guitar, terrific.
    Clinton was funky and has an interesting production.
    The Peter Bellamy was nice, but I'd have to be in the mood I think.
    Ha Ha!. my sister had ' Rollin' '..bizarre how that sticker got on there..perhaps the couple that owned those records originally had an argument and she stuck the Rollers sticker on his Link Wray album to spite him!.
    Mordecai Jones was terrific, loved that riff!.
    Great stuff Hedley.

      Hello Rob.
      It's a mystery how that Bay City Rollers sticker made its way onto that sleeve? I like your theory. Louise just misfiles records if I've pissed her off. If she begins retaliating by attaching Bay City Rollers stickers to my records, I might have to have a long hard think about our relationship.
      Thanks for your thoughts.
      My neighbour gave me her husband's collection of folk records, so you can be sure there'll be more folk on the way.
      Cheers - Hedley
