Dogs are almost immune to salmonella. Cats, not so much. They ate fresh small prey, while dogs were mostly going through our our rubbish, and being tossed scraps and byproducts. So the saliva and digestion of dogs is way more robust against bacteria than cats.

Reminds me of when I was doing a zookeeper experience, and I met a clutch of ducklings who had imprinted on a baby kookaburra. They had to make sure he was well fed so he didn't decide to eat on of his foster children.

I worry about this too. I can't help but feel like there's something unwholesome going on here. Like the cats being kept pregnant constantly or something to keep it docile and in mother mode. I can't prove it, but it's a very strong feeling these videos have always given me
