Something that came to mind watching you demonstrate the Milescraft Grabber with regard to the angled handle. It looks like the angled handle (away from the fence) does two things in addition to feeling better: 1) sort of forces you to stand a bit more away from the fence and therefore away from kickback, 2) induces pressure toward the fence. Win-win-win.
The Incra 1000HD's extension lock screw is 1/4-20. So you can replace the screw with whatever knob/lever you want. I have a knurled brass knob on mine.
Great videos all told, thanks so much! I have a wood shop that, as a bohemian artist, I have been gathering tools for more than 30 years. I've finally managed to grab a decently powered shop vac (replacing two others) and a dust separator. But what I have been unable to do is find a set of hose adapters that will cover all these different tools - there are a few that I still can't accomodate! I'd love a video on perhaps, the best set of adapters; but maybe even on all the things that make tools work together better and / or accessories that one can use to improve the performance of the different tools in the shop. Thanks again, great stuff!
I picked up the 24" Vevor miter gauge last week. I haven't had a chance to use it yet since my workshop (garage) is currently packed with the furniture from the house because we're getting the floors redone. But my first impressions with it are it looks and feels amazing. And the flip stop is awesome. It's way better than the flip stops that came with my woodpeckers drill press fence.
Speaking a Canadian, I do not use millimetres for any of my woodworking. When I worked in the trades as an electrician, I used imperial measurements, even when it meant weird math like dividing fractions. However, up North here, we are fairly flexible on what measurements we use for almost anything.
T9 is a life saver for me. It works great inside the tools and on the surfaces. Rust is a constant battle when you live in a rain forest on the coast. The Redwoods love the moisture but the cast iron is not a fan. I’m looking for a long term review on Harvey’s new nickel coating. 👊
I live in the REALLY HUMID SOUTH, and I'm an artist and photographer. I found that I could actually spray my artwork super thick clearcoat artwork protector on all my outdoors metal stuff, and it sealed it, so no moisture gets to it! UV protection too. I spray everything with it now! No rust!
That Vevor fence is a bargain with that great micro adjust. My gripes are: First, the miter bar adjustment screws on the side as you mentioned. The Incra expanding washers work much better. Second, there is no chamfer at the bottom of the fence for saw dust clearance and there is not enough material at that edge for me to trim it. You also can't use the stop block with a user attached fence, unless there is a way I haven't found yet.
When I found a brand new Incra V27 on my local Marketplace for $60 I had to jump on it. It even came with an aluminum fence. Great bang for the buck! It's nice to see this Vevor option as a respectable upgrade option!
Thank you I was trying to find a video for best cheap budget miter gauge with fence and you did just that. I got it ordered for around $50 with tax on Ebay.
Just got my Grabber Pro on your recommendation and I'm impressed. It's a big, beefy thing to hold onto and it definitely makes you confident that nothing is going to slip. If you're thinking about one, think no longer, and get one. Definitely a step up from random push sticks.
1-2-3 blocks are one of the most useful things I have in my shop. My preference is for the variety without holes as they are heavier and are great for holding down paper templates. I've got 16 of them I think. (I build big model railroads)
When I bought a new table saw I decided to also buy a push block. I looked at both the Gripper and Grabber and I went for the Grabber. Lower cost, sure, but I like the bigger angled handle. I love it and use it all the time.
I came across Mini Precision Table Saws. I'm a complete newbie and looking to use it for smaller crafting. Do you have thoughts on these? I love the size and portability but I'm also concerned of the stability and safety of these tiny units. I'd really appreciate any insights you have on them or what you think would be a better option.
Happy with my MilesCraft Gripper Pro and its little brother. The pads can pick up dust and lose grippiness a but a quick wipe down with damp cloth fixes that. I think you can get replacement legs if you get saw damage
That Boeshield T-9 looks interesting. I get rust on my table saw, and the good old boys just told me to use paste wax to keep it slick and help against rust. Have you tried paste wax, and how does that compare?
Don’t use this or WD40 or similar. Use wax instead. A wax WITHOUT oil! The benefit with wax is that you won’t risk contamination of oil on your wood. Gluing and painting will not be affected by wax as opposed to oils! Kind regards Anders Sweden
love the milescraft! will give that some thought. could you review the grizzly pro or some other dowel jointer products? i have seen the dowel max but there are power dowel jointers that seem to be faster, easier, and cheaper.
Would also recommend a featherboard if you don't have one. Helps when ripping long boards for a glue up and acts like a third hand so you can use your other hands to feed the board properly, you don't want the board wandering back toward the blade and getting a uneven cut.
Looks to me like you could reverse everything on the Grabber to work on the right side of the blade if you needed to? I've had a couple of cuts in my 40 some years had to cut on the right side. It is rare to do so
This video just dropped a few hours ago - and you've gone from 661K subscribers (well, I guess that was whenever you filmed it) to 669K as I type this. GREAT job, Matt - so many of us love your channel!!! PS: as of 11/10/24, 2:20pm Arkansas-time.... the Vevor Miter Gauges are sold out on Amazon. Wooo Pigs Sooie!
One caveat with the Vevor the one I purchased would not fit in the miter slots of the classic Craftsman table saws as the slots are very slightly narrower than standard, however ever the Incra V27 and many others will. I’ve been using the V27 for many years it has proven itself. My restro-mod Craftsman saw also includes a new fence system I’ll match it to most any cabinet saw for accuracy. FYI the U.S. should have gone metric 50 years ago.
Lol i looking for a good mitre gauge for my table saw i order this exact one yesterday.I was a bit on the edge if it will be good or not but your video made to be at ease i did not buy trash.
I have that miter gauge, one reason that it has a bit of wiggle could be that those screws you can adjust to make it fit snugly in the miter slot have springs, so they can be pushed in. Perhaps if you could replace those pins with ones that have no springs it would be more sturdy. The springs are actually useful for my cheap table saw cause the slots aren't exactly the same width all the way for some reason. It's one of those SKIL tablesaws which got pretty good reviews, but mine isn't that good. If that miter gauge didn't have springs it would probably get stuck for me. I even had to use a stick wrapped in sand paper to make the slot work at all cause the slots were noticeably narrower at the ends. Perhaps the coating on the tablesaw ended up thicker in some spots.
I'm in the Grrripper isnt grippy enough crew. I'll be adding the Milescraft version to my Christmas list!! I've been using T9 on my tablesaw and planer for a couple years now. Good stuff.
Question - What is the difference between the miter gauge show here and a miter sled like the powertec 71403? Is there something one can do that the other can't?
I just got this for my new Skil 6307 table saw and was blown away. I got the one with the 24 inch fence and was making cross cuts for a small project didn't even need my miter saw. Cant believe I only paid $55 free shipping.
The Vevor miter featured in this video looks great, but everywhere I looked for it, it was out of stock, and all of the provided links indicated they didn't know when or even if the product would be available again. Is this product discontinued?
I ordered my grabber the day before your video. I looked at the gripper as well but the grabber seemed to be s better device all around. I also had some 123 blocks anyway. I have a dewalt jobsite table saw that hss the gray top what can i put on it to make it smoother.
Thanks Matt. I have the Peachtree thin rip jig and I agree it works well. But the measurement scale seems backward to me. I would think the scale would register at 0 when the jig is set against the blade, then as you slide the jig back from the blade you would read the thickness of the strip. This would require the highest number on the scale to be at the blade end and 0 to be at the opposite end, then one would read the thickness of the strip at the opposite end of the jig. In reality the scale has the 0 nearest the blade so as I widen the strip thickness I'm reading smaller numbers. I must be misunderstanding something; what am I missing?
Hey Matt, curious about the Vevor miter gauge & fence and figured you could help. It should fit the SKIL 6307 jobsite saw correct? I ask because I’ve purchased a few different brands and have had horrible luck with fitment. Thank ya sir
@ 10/4. I’ll give it a shot even though I think my saw was built on a Friday afternoon lol. It’s got some quirks 😂 Thank ya for the reply sir, much appreciated
Shopsmith pistol grip miter gauge is the nicest safest miter made. There use to be a few aftermarket versions for the standard 3/4 t track. To place a board in it and squeeze the grip and it be locked firm to the table is priceless. Use to incra had a version to change the base to their system with all the positive stops and then had the upper removable pistol grip clamp like all shopsmith miters. I love Shopsmith for what they are and in my one car garage they are the greatest. But no way in hell I would pay what they want for a new one. Market place you can get a lot of woodworking equipment as low as $500 to $1000 for a SS mkV 510 or 520 often with a bandsaw and jointer and more. For people trying to get into wood working. Even if you have a nice Table saw the drill press and horizontal boring are above and beyond any drill press you can buy. Variable speed fence tilting table mortising. A pretty decent lathe as I have turned a lot of stuff and the 12 in disk sander is just priceless especially with that big 510-520 table. Every Shop should have a use Shopsmith in their Shop.
05:30 tbh, although the extension look awesome, it looks a bit flimsy. I'd buy the normal on instead and use a miter sled for longer and maybe heavy stuff.
Love you r choice in T’s brother. Second time I’ve caught new product reviews within hours of posting just to find them out of stock. First being those WEN measurement deals - still out of stock.
Just so you know, this Vevor is not available either at Amazon or Lowes now. Or at least not at the links you gave. When I went to Amazon and entered Vevor, I got something, but not sure if it was the one you are showing. Looked less cool. Handle more flimsy. No micro adjust on stop. According to Amazon "we do not know when or if this item will be in stock again." I wonder what's going on there given that it is also out of stock at Lowes. Bummer! I was all ready to buy it. Thanks for your great tool tips.
@@731Woodworks Just checked Amazon and Lowes again and in neither place were the one you showed us available. Lowes had Kraig miter gauge only. Amazon had the (older?) version with no extendable fence and not as nice accoutrements (handle, stop block fine adjust etc.)
Those of you who are using saw stop saws want to keep any aluminum miter fence at least an eighth of an inch awaaay from the blade or you are likely to set off the blade break! It was a 150$ lesson and a weeks down time because I didn't have a spare break and my local store was out of them! I really enjoy your videos Matt! God Bless you all!
I made the same mistake lol. Had the blade angled at a 45 and even did a test pass before I turned the saw on. What I didn't notice was the slight play I still had in the gauge and the small twist that allowed caused the fence to touch the blade.
I got an older Incra miter gauge for free. It's just labelled "The Miter Gauge", but I believe it's a 2000, which isn't even on their website. It's actually pretty nice.
I wish I had seen that Vevor miter gauge before I bought the Incra V27 a year or so ago. I like the Incra, but the Vevor comes with the aluminum fence and extension and flip-up stop block, AND it's about 25% cheaper than the Incra. Oh well...
I have (had, gave one to my brother ) 2 different Vevor miters. Also had a Incra and a ROckler.. I like the Vevor more! espescally over the Incra.. everyone loves that thing, just felt like stamped steel cheapo to me. I'll take my Vevor ! especially for the $
I love my Incra V27. Pretty simple to make a fence for it. I put some t track into mine and added a stop block. It's all i need 99.9 percent of the time. Sadly, i lost the little key/shoe/clip thingy that goes at the tip of the miter bar to keep it seated firmly in the slot and they ship to Canada from the States but the shipping for that tiny piece is crazy lol. 123 blocks. Absolute must have. If you're hummin and hawing over whether it's worth it regardless of the cheap price; just get one. You[ll be happy you did. I wish i'd gotten one sooner.
Just finding this video - looks like out of stock on Amazon. Truthfully - think ALL fence items should have some type of micro-adjustment like that. Have one on my router table and makes huge difference. Curious - do the stop bars flip up at all on that fence? I had the chance to use a SawStop last weekend that had their fence on it - and that accessory almost convinced me to save more money if i had the space for it. We were making face frames and doors so lots of repeat cuts and having double flip bars made it so easy for repeat cuts. And having them flip out of the way made the first "true up cut" even easier.
I agree that metric in theory is better, base 10 being much easier to compute. The problem is, that being older, even though having been taught metric. I and most of us over 30 never used it in school or work. So,I for one can't visualize metric measurements. I can read and layout prints in metric no problem but though l can see in my head imperial measurements, not so with metric
I can easily use either method but the problem I have with metric having grown up with Imperial is I can't visualize metric as easily as I can Imperial. As a measuring tool though it is fine and the math can be easier using it but somehow I make just as many mistakes with either.
Ready to order the Vevor with fence extenion but...... Unavailable and it's unknown when it will be available. I'd like to see a demo of the alternatives. Do't want to spend the time and money to find out thy're junk.
the only issue with the Vevor miter gauge is it does not work on construction / job site table saw it doesn't always fit, I wish they had different guide bars.
Another issue with the Vevor fence is that the stop on the fence will not work if you install a sacrificial fence to the front of it - the stop block cannot clear it.
@@lanceroberthough1275 What do you mean? Sacrificial fences are frequently used with an add-on fence like this. That stop will not go over it, so the stop is not usable for that situation. It's a negative, because other fences do have stops that will work with a sacrificial fence.
I want to buy this for Christmas but I can't find it listed on Amazon or anywhere else. If you want to sell the one you have, I'll buy it. My wife said I could spend the money but it's a Christmas present for me.

I even had to use a stick wrapped in sand paper to make the slot work at all cause the slots were noticeably narrower at the ends. Perhaps the coating on the tablesaw ended up thicker in some spots.
What about clamping a wood strip to the back of the fence extension? A stiff strip.
I was thinking maybe a clamp or counter weight closer to the blade. 🤷🏻♂️🤔
I'm in the Grrripper isnt grippy enough crew. I'll be adding the Milescraft version to my Christmas list!!
I've been using T9 on my tablesaw and planer for a couple years now. Good stuff.
know if the vevor mitre gauge works on the left and right side? I dont see why it wouldnt but saw other comments stating it only works on the left.
Thanks Matt. Great vid. Adding that Grabber and the Incra V27 to my wishlist.
Sorry, My Bad, found the link. Thanks for your great videos!!
Will these work on a "job site" saw? I got one years ago and don't do enough to justify a full saw, at least not yet.
The Vevor miter featured in this video looks great, but everywhere I looked for it, it was out of stock, and all of the provided links indicated they didn't know when or even if the product would be available again. Is this product discontinued?
Have you ever made a rewiev of evolution r255tbl+? If no could u do one and compare it to the Skil tablesaw?
Very helpful video. Seems like the Wen rulers are all sold out. I'll keep my eye out for when they restock. Big fan of Milescraft
Would the Vevor miter gauge work with the 10in Skil table saw. I have the saw on order and this would be a great add on. Thanks
Yes, it should work just fine.
That Vevor Miter Gauge setup was a GEM. They don't even make it anymore, just the gauge and no fence or micro adjuster and stop.
Will the Johnathon Katz Moses stop block work on this Vevor miter fence?
Thanks for the awesome budget upgrades. I don't know who wouldn't need these! 😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤
Matt. I have to ask. What is the make and model of your table saw?
SawStop 3HP PCS
I’ve bought a few ace or products and they’re good for the comparable prices~
Hey Matt, curious about the Vevor miter gauge & fence and figured you could help. It should fit the SKIL 6307 jobsite saw correct? I ask because I’ve purchased a few different brands and have had horrible luck with fitment. Thank ya sir
it should fit a standard 3/4" slot
@ 10/4. I’ll give it a shot even though I think my saw was built on a Friday afternoon lol. It’s got some quirks 😂
Thank ya for the reply sir, much appreciated
Help. I saw your video on the Vevor miter Guage and fence. I like it. I found the Guage but can't find the set anywhere. Link?
they are currently out of stock it looks like
Why no link to Milescraft Gripper?
Have a old craftsman cheap table saw. Need this stuff
Very informative. Thank you!
I use T-9 since decades, it works!
How does it work on the Grey top of dewalt saws.
Do you have a link for the carbon method? All i'm finding is the spray for car finishes
yep, link in description and pinned comment. Here it is carbonmethod.com/carbon-coating-kit/?ref=erplqyck (affiliate link)
FYI, the Vevor miter gauge & fence extension are back in stock!
So what do I do for a tabbed miter slot?
Milescraft makes good things. Their self centering bits and their door hinge jig work decently.
It's crazy how fast these things sell out!
They're back in stock on Amazon AND Lowes.
FYI, the Vevor miter gauge & fence extension are back in stock!
Thank you for this, exactly what made me stay away from some of these and use my sled instead when a miter would've done just fine.
Oh well...
Vevor has discontinued the miter gauge. You bought one of the last ones made for this video. Please suggest an alternative!
I have (had, gave one to my brother ) 2 different Vevor miters. Also had a Incra and a ROckler.. I like the Vevor more! espescally over the Incra.. everyone loves that thing, just felt like stamped steel cheapo to me. I'll take my Vevor ! especially for the $
Vevor mitre gauge is 10/10, I just got it a few weeks ago and kills my incra and kreg
Great selection Mighty Matt!
Please measure the bar on both the Incra and the Vevor. The slot in my Shopsmith is .731.
What’s the price of the miter gauge? It’s unavailable on Amazon but I’d like to know the price
great selection, I will try the milescraft
I agree that metric in theory is better, base 10 being much easier to compute. The problem is, that being older, even though having been taught metric. I and most of us over 30 never used it in school or work. So,I for one can't visualize metric measurements. I can read and layout prints in metric no problem but though l can see in my head imperial measurements, not so with metric
Your video editing is impressive.
I have a very talented editor
Vevor coming out with some interesting items.
This video is amazing! Thanks
I think that a third miter slot on the table would be useful
What is the Model number makes ordering easier.
I can easily use either method but the problem I have with metric having grown up with Imperial is I can't visualize metric as easily as I can Imperial. As a measuring tool though it is fine and the math can be easier using it but somehow I make just as many mistakes with either.
You sold me on the VEVOR Precision Miter Gauge... it's just not available anywhere!
It's a really popular product, so that's probably why it's out of stock.
I like your review on the Vevor miter gauge. If I didn't already have the Kreg miter gauge then I would order that one.
This awesome content love your stuff
Ready to order the Vevor with fence extenion but...... Unavailable and it's unknown when it will be available. I'd like to see a demo of the alternatives. Do't want to spend the time and money to find out thy're junk.
It happens a lot, especially with the more popular stuff. Hopefully, it comes back in stock soon.
The Vevor miter gauge isn't available on any of the sites
Yep, they sell out pretty fast.
This was an expensive video for my shop...lol Great video.
Ha ha! Glad you enjoyed it!
the only issue with the Vevor miter gauge is it does not work on construction / job site table saw it doesn't always fit, I wish they had different guide bars.
the VEVOR Precision Miter Gauge you show is out of stock
Oh, the terror in watching a metal miter fence get that close to a Sawstop blade.
Only time I have ever triggered my Sawstop was doing exactly what he was doing….giving me flashbacks.
0:52 look at that slop! the micro adjustment is exactly where you dont want slop,,
The Vevor miter gauges are already "unavailable" in all of your links
Vevor is out of stock at lowes and amazon for all versions right now. Video must have caused a rush lol.
Another issue with the Vevor fence is that the stop on the fence will not work if you install a sacrificial fence to the front of it - the stop block cannot clear it.
Not an issue with fence
@@lanceroberthough1275 What do you mean? Sacrificial fences are frequently used with an add-on fence like this. That stop will not go over it, so the stop is not usable for that situation. It's a negative, because other fences do have stops that will work with a sacrificial fence.
I want to buy this for Christmas but I can't find it listed on Amazon or anywhere else. If you want to sell the one you have, I'll buy it. My wife said I could spend the money but it's a Christmas present for me.
