that bamboo-made house at 6:40 is fantastic. it looks like an enlarged native asian shanty, but everything inside is awesome. by the way, if you were surprised that it's not even December yet but there are christmas decorations everywhere, you should have visited the Philippines. They have the longest christmas, starting in September! :)
yeah we have the longest and the best christmas in the world!
our christmas here starts in september, and ends in January. that's almost half a year :D
true! I have a friend from the Philippines, and they start decorating their house with christmas trees and lights and other stuff in September. they call the last quarter of the year the "ber" months and consider it the whole christmas season
but there's one thing they could never have during the yuletide season, the SNOW! hahaha
but I don't like the sound of the bamboo floor. it feels like it's going to break anytime under your feet.
Those properties are INCREDIBLE.
I think this is a really interesting video as it brings up quite a few questions. Part of me watching this felt almost a bit angry that the places they were viewing was a playground for rich and wealthy westerners in an otherwise quite poor part of the world. If the L.T.A group wanted to do something for the treehouse project, obviously it would be great for other travellers to stay in the treehouses they build so that its affordable to build and maintain the treehouse project. But it would be super exciting to see some of the money from that treehouse project go into improving the local communities or set up a sister project exclusively for the local community. It's all well and good building all these new swish pads with all mod cons but I think it would be even more exciting to see a big community project. Sweet vlogs as always Louis :)

Never had the desire to visit Bali before these vlogs but now I want to. I always pictured it as a party place but you made it seem so chill
Life Adventures with Matt if you're clinging on Southern Bali like Kuta, then yes..its a party place. so avoid Kuta is obvious. if you go further to central or even up to northern Bali, then you will rarely find tourists. Louis stayed in Ubud, its in central of Bali.

Yeah, I thought foreigners can't buy land in Bali.
Seemeliar 3 foreigners can buy house in Indonesia based on new rules 2015 but not own land. and yes every province also have own rules and regulation added, in this case Bali provinve. correct me if i wrong
Foreign individuals can legally acquire property in Indonesia and enjoy full beneficial rights. This is done using one of two models: the first by a nominee arrangement, and the second, by way of an Indonesian incorporated company.
With nominee method, an Indonesian citizen is nominated to buy the land on behalf of the foreign purchaser. Land Title deeds will thus be under the name of the Indonesian nominee. The Notary/PPAT handling the land sale and transfer will simultaneously make a Power of Attorney giving the foreign purchaser total and exclusive authority to utilise, sell, transfer, or lease the land without any reference whatsoever from the nominee, along with a statement declaring that the money used the buy the land belongs to the foreign purchaser and not to the nominee.
The power of attorney must give the foreign party full beneficial rights on the property and must waive all rights of the nominee. The foreign party is then free to build on the land, sell or lease the property and transfer the title to next of kin. Often, the nominee will receive a nominal fee for his/her responsibilities as the title holder.
The second method is to form a foreign investment company (“Penanaman Modal Asing”, PMA). A foreigner can fully control a PMA company and the title of the property will be in the company’s name in the form of a right to build (“Hak Guna Bangunan”, HGB). The HGB expires after 30 years and can be renewed several times. However, there are tax implications to be considered and the Department of Trade will review PMA companies after 30 years so it may be necessary to re-apply for the PMA license
