- And this marks the last cover I'm doing for the night.
Just like a lot of the other remakes of past covers, I'd been wanting to do this for a while, but either couldn't find the time or thought other songs as higher priority. Including with this trio of covers, but at least I finished it in the end. Here's hoping the same can be said for the stage this plays for...

You should play cave story. All the music has this amazing energy and It plays really well.

If you ever get the chance, absolutely play Cave Story. Made by one man, plays so well, has a killer soundtrack composed by the same guy, and the story's quite good too. If you like Metroidvanias, you'll like Cave Story; it's basically a run 'n gun Metroidvania. Get a new weapon, go explore an area you couldn't earlier to get some health upgrades and missile expansions, the like. And yeah it's basically the progenitor of the modern indie game scene; plus, as already pointed out, the original version is freeware, all you need is a translation patch. Give it a go; I always recommend trying out Cave Story.

I still haven't beaten the Sacred Grounds. It's legitimately one of the hardest areas in any game I've ever played, and this is coming from someone who plays old-school platformers a la Mega Man and Castlevania regularly. The falling blocks room can suck a fat one. The opening bass riff is enough to make me break out in a cold sweat, like "Aw hell no, here we go again" lmao.
This translated to SMRPG's soundfont really well; it retains the frantic energy of the original, really capturing the feeling of everything falling apart around you as you make a mad dash for the big asshole at the end. Another fantastic piece by you; easy like and add to the favorites playlist :P
This is definitely one of those few things that makes battletoads nes feel like a warm up...
Bro, same. I can beat NES Castlevanias and other old platformers, but this section is the only one in all of gaming that has truly defeated me.
I know _precisely_ what you're talking about with the room with the falling blocks. I'm surprised that room didn't kill me outright on the stream, especially since that was my first time making the attempt in _years._ I'm hoping to make the second attempt at the end of the week, but with how busy things have been, I can't exactly make any promises.
Unless you're on like Hard Mode, you can abuse the Butes in the RNG hallway by constantly flying through them on your way through, and you should be able to make it to the end with some health. Then you can keep loading between the RNG hallway and the next room to farm the placed hearts, and be on your way. Before Ballos, I advise farming hearts again during the Heavy Press fight, and DO NOT STAND UNDER IT WHEN IT DIES.
try playing it on hard mode... took me like 5 hours for that part alone
