@@callmeyugen I totally agree with you. She should have paused recording and taken a deep breath. Hair is hair. That's why when my kids were wanting to play with hair color or style, I always let them. You only get to have fun with minimum judgement for so little time in life.
@@mza2195 I was always scared to play with hair coloring and I still am. Yeah, she should have stopped her recording to take a moment for herself instead of doing what she did but now I suppose she can learn from him. I'll make sure not to take that privilege away from my children, I'll let them play with their hair as long as they don't hurt themselves in the process. I wasn't able to do anything with mine, not even cut a centimeter off.

8:28 I had a college teacher who used to shave his hair at the sides and then style it into a long mohawk by using fricking sugar and glue, he showed me pictures and everything since I was the only student he's had that understood his style because I dye and cut my hair all the damn time. He's now completely bald but he now has a long ass beard to do the same thing with.

I feel like I don't have much of an attachment to my hair. I'm constantly changing colour and damaging it. It became dead not long back so I just cut it all off and had a pixie cut. Didn't mourn it. It grows back 🤣

I'm a scene kid and I never understood my few normal friends freaking out cause their bangs aren't straight. Like honey..... im bleaching my hair and dying it insane colors while choping it all short at least ever 2 months
I’m honestly laughing about how he said we dye our hair grey, pink, and red meanwhile I have used those three exact colors this summer.
My hair horror story:
I used to bleach my hair. A lot. So I needed a touch up for my roots so instead of doing it myself I decided to splurge and go to a very well known salon. This girl that is doing my hair was told what I wanted. Seemed easy enough. She gets the wrong color and does an all over reddish brown. So I almost freaked out over that. She strips it out. Over 2 hours of that shit in my hair I’m like ok can this come out yet? So she takes it out but she applied it horribly. There were still stripes of this red in my hair. So she says she can fix it. And bleached over my hair 2 times. After the second time I felt something was off and said I needed to see what was going on. I saw half of my hair in a cheese string mess in the damn sink and the stripes were still in my freaking hair. And she somehow missed spots from my roots too. So I’m standing there my shirt is soaking wet and my hair is dripping everywhere with chemicals still in it and I’m pretty pissed. She called security when I was in the bathroom saying I was trying to leave without paying. That actually hadn’t even crossed my mind at the time I was too upset. So security came and told me I had to pay. Mind you my hair is still in a chemical soaked mess and they tell me to just pay and go. The other hair stylists say there like 😐 and no one helped my fix my hair. So $100+ dollars later I’m leaving the salon sobbing because my hair was falling out. Finally tho after 4 years I was able to grow it all out and it’s fine now. But yea I’ll never go there again.

Niko Alfio omg I really didn’t think that at the time! Yea it was horrible. My roommate he was laughing at me the whole time when I got home but he helped me. He helped me wash it every day and helped me brush it out. And he went out and bought me a special brush for it. He helped me with that crap for months (my hair went below my ass it was hard to do alone)
I can’t believe you were forced to pay after that! It should’ve been obvious to everyone and I can’t believe no one spoke up! I admit years ago if something like that happened to me I probably would’ve just paid and left too but now I would not let someone get away with that, I’d asked to speak to the manager or I would hit of all their social media with pictures to show everyone what this crazy person did, i’m telling you having kids changes you as a person you don’t put up with shit

Oh, I had a great bleach fail lmao here we go:
when I was 13, I wanted to embrace my emoness, by dying my hair black. A year later, that wasn't enough anymore, so I wanted to have an ombre/gradient thing. I got it bleached and dyed by the hairdresser before and I also already started to redye the color myself, everything was fine. This time tho, color was boring to me, so I wanted it white. I went to a professional store and got hairdresser-level bleach. I even bought a fucking toner and purple shampoo and still I fucked up, because I underestimated the toner and kept bleaching for hours and hours. My hair turned out still very yellow and like overcooked noodles. Luckily my hair only snapped off when brushing, so I wasn't forced to cut it off.
While the purple shampoo helped to make my hair look less yellow, I still felt very trolled the next time I died my hair, this time it was the whole head in a purpleish pink... It washed out in pure white....
But honestly, I regret nothing of all this fuckery. I just let my hair grow out, cut it off and went on with my life. I'm almost 19 now and I still cut and dye my hair by myself, even with the same fucking brand of bleach. It's a working and learning experience and I wouldn't know so much by now, if I wouldn't have fucked up before. But I totally agree, these products should come with better instructions!
Last wise words from me: If you have black hair, but want white hair, it is not, repeat: NOT, possible to do it in one go.

Mm horror stories are several, but the worst was probably when my mother and her friend helped me dye my hair at home, I tried several times to tell them that the bleach was literally BURNING MY SCALP.... yeah I had a horrible chemical burn on my head for months after that. 😀👍🏻
Also... professional dye jobs are so much money, the most expensive one I got was over 200 USD.

Remember in like… when was I in middle school?.. 2012-2014 when it was trendy to have one section of hair on the side of your head buzzed clean off? It was more popular with women/girls, and I think it was inspired by Skrillex. A friend of mine had that style when we were in school, took forever for it to fully grow out, she did end up getting all her hair cut short so it’d all blend together 😅
Yo so I had the side cut for YEARS and everyone told me I was doing it to look like Skrillex and I legitimately had no idea who he was for the longest time and had just had my hair like that from when I was 13-20 because I liked it.

When my sister was in cosmetology school she would talk about people coming in for "Just a trim" and then they would say to take it shorter, all the way into a full cut. That's why they charge for a full cut, though, which people would get pissy about.

I used to get my hair bleached at a salon. I went in to get it touched up and apparently I wasnt as important as the kids for prom getting their hair done. She left my bleach on too long and it caused blisters on the top of my head. I had puss coming out of my head for a week. I was done after that.

@@ReptilianTeaDrinker Thank you. I didnt even know about the blisters till I got home and showered. I thought she put too much product on my hair. But it got painful with water and I could feel the popping. It was terrible.
OMFG THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOOO!!
I was going from red to strawberry blonde and the stylist kept insisting that "another ten minutes!" to the point that I had 40% bleach on my head for a fucking HOUR.
I ended up begging her to wash it out and she did but then, upon seeing my straw-like hair and angry red scalp, tried to deny any wrong doing and insisted on slapping a light brown shade onto my hair to "tone it down".
And on top of it all? She still insisted on getting paid despite her manager yelling at her for giving me a chemical burn.
Took a month before my scalp stopped feeling sore to touch...

I had my hair turn into cotton candy after beaching one time, and I had to cut six inches off my hair. I no longer use splat hair kits because the developer they use is too power, and can burn hair really easily.
I used splat once the first time I dyed my hair and when my sister found out (she's a hairdresser) she legit told me she'd disown me if I ever used it again and it's been 6 years now and I refuse to use it on myself or anyone else (I'm becoming a hairdresser so my friends come to me)
My mom thought I was watching a weird dinosaur compilation or something on the TV in our living room at first so she started yelling at me and then she came out to see what I was watching and when she saw that girl loose her hair when she was trying get those beach waves, my mom sat down with me and we ended up laughing at this whole video. Love your videos their the best🖤🖤🖤🖤 also I have also clamped my ear and it hurts😭🤣😂🖤
Luckily, I've never had to deal with bleaching fails because my hair is so thick 😆 I've just dealt with coloring fails where my hair wouldn't absord the dye near my head but absorbed at the tips. I just rocked the cool ombre it made.

Went to a salon to get my naturally burnt wood brown, long to the small of my back hair lightened so I could have the funky teal color in it, and walked out not having to pay because the cosmetologist melted more than half the length off. They gave me a haircut and been too afraid to go get it done again ever since. Mess ups happen even in a salon chair, just far less often than home dye. So glad I found your channel, Jake is a delight to listen to and watch

I feel called out, I have short gray hair with a grown out side shave.
When I was in Cosmetology a woman came in with platinum dreads to her knees. I quickly noped at the suggestion I be the one to bleach her roots. I knew her hair wouldn't withstand the weakening of the roots, and the weight of her massively long dreads. While I was reprimanded by my talentless, ruthless, arrogant, teachers, I was in fact NOT the one who ended up giving this woman a 2" chemical cut. All of her dreads lay on the floor, and I banged out a low fade in 9 minutes, and slept like a baby later that night.
I LOVE IT! When people get mad, are in pain, or when people make funny ass mistakes it's just to good not to laugh 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Last year I cut and shaved my hair for 4 hours straight, it ended up beeing a mix between 90's backstreet boys and an undercut. I looked like a 14 year old boy who liked the backstreet boys a little too much xD I never had so much fun making fun of myself because of that haircut. I really enjoyed it. Now i'm back to the more "natural" hair lenght of a grown woman, i leave it at that for the moment until something inspires me to cut it all of again :3

I have, however, dyed my hair green on top of natural, dirty blonde which didn’t look good later
I made the rookie mistake of bleaching my hair twice in one day the bleach actually burnt my scalp and made it bleed, good thing I planned to dye my hair red isn't it haha
HAIR STRAIGHTENER STORY :')
One time (maybe 4-5 years ago?) my mom was straightening her hair and had set the straightener on the floor in front of her mirror. I had no clue it was on, went into her room, and stepped on it. I stood on that thing for 3 whole minutes, not realizing it was burning me. It just felt warm, then started to BURN. I had huge bubbles on my foot for like 2 weeks after that. :')
