CARRIE! You can use one of those daily pill boxes to put herbs, salt, garlic and whatever else to take with you while on tour! Buy normal sizes while at your flat then only put enough to fit in the compartments of the pill box!
I've just realised how soon it is that I see Chitty I'm not ready! So excited to see Lee Mead in theatre again (I saw him in Joseph when I was like seven) and to see you, Carrie.
Went to Canterbury on a school trip once and I loved it. Incredible place. :) I went to see the Cathedral and at the statue/memorial where you were standing, there was this group of guys just playing guitar and singing. It was lovely.
Hi Carrie I met you at stage door recently but was so nervous all I could say was can I have a photo but I wanted to say so much. But your channel is my happy place to calm my anxieties, blues and worries as it is for many others. Thank You so much for the gift of a place to escape to no matter what xx
Ya know those 'pills of the day' things that have little pill containers for each day of the week? Could you put salt, spices and all that jazz in there? You completely nailed Truly Scrumptious, amazing performance!
For sugar, me and my mum collect the little sachets from coffee shops when we go camping and then recycle the paper packets. It means you don't have to buy a big pack and the portions are easy. Great for tea too! xxxxx
Omg. I spent an entire school year in Canterbury for my study abroad and I am just having so many feelings watching you wander around the streets I called home. Seeing the winding streets, the giant face statue, the beautiful Cathedral entrance! Oh how i miss this place! It's where I fell in love multiple times- with England, with Canterbury, with my current boyfriend (LDR 1 ½ years and counting). I hope you have an amazing time there!
I could cry! I was in Canterbury on the 24th! I was right outside the Marlowe theatre while you were performing taking pictures for my art project and I had no idea you were inside! Arghh!!!
I live in Canterbury! Well, I'm at uni there and I'm currently home up north but I was planning on going back for a few days to move into my new house! And literally Pork & co and Cafe Turquoise are amazing! If you haven't already, you should definitely go to Cafe Turquoise for the soup and the macaroons!! Also the Falstaff is INCREDIBLY fancy but the staff are lovely so I'm sure they didn't mind! Hope you enjoy your time there x
The Falstaff has been refurbished majorly since you were there last and you've probably already discovered but yes there is a lush in Canterbury. loved the show btw and thank you for taking the time to say hello at stage door. also ive worked in that theatre for 2 years and I still get lost back stage so if youve managed to suss it out well done. :)
I wasnt sure if I really wanted to click in this video but then I remembered how much of an inspiration and help Carrie has been and I immediately clicked! I love Carrie so much!!!! She really helped me through a tough time. That time put me off writing for a short period but reading Carries book made me remember how fun writitng was and she is such an amazing writer! If there was such thing as a perfect role model, Im pretty sure Carrie would take the cake (which Im sure she'd be very pleased about if there was also tea!!!) I aspire to be her personality wise and I just can't comprehend how big of an impact she had on my life! Although she won't see this, I just want to thank her for all she has done! She really turned the light on when I though I was stuck in the dark and I will forever be grateful for that. Lysm!
Ahh I've just finished my degree in Canterbury!!! There are some awesome book shops in Canterbury, the Chaucer bookshop on Beer Cart Lane has a great collection of old books including some brilliant children books! Hope you have a fab time in Canterbury.
it's so cool to see you walk through the streets of Canterbury, one of the few towns in England I have had the pleasure to stay in for more than a day. I miss it. x
Stayed at the Falstaff back in 2012. Great place, the hotel is decently priced. Very very low ceiling beams anyone over 6 foot will have to duck in the pub.
When we go on picnics or away for weekends etc . I wrap salt, herbs etc in cling film then pop them all in a empty food bag/pencil case/make up bag & sauces etc I put in those little plastic food containers from the pound shop (& wrap cling film around , just in case of any spills/leaks). Then there's not usually to much to throw away at the end. Or when I'm in a restaurant or take away food place , I pick up a couple of sachets & pop them in the zip bit of my bag ;) x
Can't believe you only have 6 weeks left! Feel like we've all been on this journey with you and it's just awesome, plus we loved seeing chitty in Nottingham 💛 Canterbury is beautiful I've never been and I need to go now! xxx
I'm moving to Canterbury from Norwich next weekend as I'm coming to study at the university and I can't believe you're performing there. I will have to buy tickets now because you've not done a show near Norwich yet.. yay!
Okay so that video was kind of insane!!!!!!!!!! I live in the town over from Canterbury and in September I'm going to be going to sixth form there! Seeing Carrie walk around places that I know like the back of my hand is crazy and I REALLY can't wait to see her on Wednesday! I pray I get to meet her at stage door or the day before walking round Canterbury as I have to go get some shopping ready for sixth form..
Hello lovely Carrie! Just wanted to tell you that I think you're Truly Scrumptious, haha! I've seen the show yesterday and I'm really glad I was able to, because... I'm from the Netherlands and I'm currently living in England because I'm working here as an au pair. My hostmom asked me what the thing was I definitely wanted to do while I'm living here. I answered, go to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and see Carrie perform, because she is so talented and I love to see her live! So my hostmom arranged tickets (about 3 months ago) for herself, my hostkid and me to come and see the show. We were all very excited. When I woke up on Friday, my hostmom had to tell me that she made a terrible mistake. She thought she had tickets for the show on Friday, but it was for the show on Thursday, so we missed it!!!!! I was really sad and dissapointed, because I was so excited about this and looking forward to finally see you live perform, but I didn't want to show my hostmom because she was feeling really bad about it already and I didn't want to make it worse. Although I tried to hide it, she knew I was sad about it. So she called the Marlowe as soon as it was open and they told her that there was only one ticket left for that evening show. She booked for me and I'm very thankful for that. Unfortunately I had to go on my own instead, but I'm so so glad that I did it! And still had the change to see the show. It was really lovely and you are amazing!! (Just felt like sharing this here, because I didn't got the chance to meet you and wanted you to know that this made my day)
I so wish I had the money or the time off work to see Chitty but I can't but I can't believe how close to me you are right now Canterbury is literally the next town along from mine and to see you walking in places I've walked before is amazing-soooo wish I could meet you
This is really surreal to watch because I live in Cardiff but I come from Canterbury, so the videos from these tour stops make me double-take every time! :') This was such a lovely video! :)
The wifi is awful in the dressing rooms of the Marlowe and unfortunately I have only ever had a fridge once out of all the times I have performed there. I now finally know my way around! Love your videos soooooo much! Lots of Love, Darcy xxxx
Carrie, you should consider taking small amounts of seasonings and oils and such in little containers from home. Tick tack containers work particularly well for seasoning. And coconut oil is a good choice for travel because it stays solid if it's cool enough.
I haven't seen the video yet and I have a fear of vomit - can someone tell me if you actually see Carrie being ill or anything like that before I watch it please? xxxx
you can put herbs and spices and salt in a pill box that has sections for each day, then put clingfilm over it before you clip the lid down to stop it from spilling in your bag xx
I went to uni in Canterbury and I love and miss it so much!! Hope you have the best time there, and really enjoy how beautiful it is! (and btw, the Falstaff is a pretty swanky hotel/pub aha!) xx
mcdonalds style sachets of pepper and salt :) oil... use a little travel bottle that you usually use for shampoo etc :) sauces.. just get some sachets :D
I've heard some ideas for bringing spices on trips, like putting them in pill cases because they're quite small and things. Personally, I would bring or even buy stock cubes. I season everything with knorr chicken stock cubes, it might be driving my family crazy but I think it's great! Or what I have also seen that looked quite good. Old tic-tac containers! Storing spices in there is very compact. Cooking oil is probably harder and more annoying, you'd have to bring a small bottle and that would be a hassle in a suitcase because WHAT IF IT LEAKS. Also, I love how excited everyone got at the ice cream :D
Aaw loved this!! Been waiting all day to see if we were getting a vlog from you Carrie, came home from town and here it was!! And it was great too!! Loved the intro and you getting introduced to Canterbury. It's mad to think that you only have 6 weeks left in chitty. Surely not omg.
So weird seeing my home town in a vlog! But I'm glad you're enjoying Canterbury! If you're ever short of places to eat, I recommend Kitch on the main high street (they make amazing smoothies) and the Veg Box on Iron Bar Lane :) Also Tiny Tims down St Margarets Street have a brilliant menu and an apparently "haunted" room upstairs! Hope you have fun at the Marlowe! 😊
AHHHH omg this is so exciting for me I know Canterbury like the back of my hand- I've danced on the Marlowe stage twice, and there are two waterstones, with your books in!
Carrie!! I can't believe you're in Canterbury and I'm not there D: it's a lovely lovely city - if you get a chance, you should try having lunch at Boho on the high street (fab artsy cafe with Alice in wonderland and clocks and guitars on the wall - and it's opposite Patisserie Valerie!) I think you'd love it! Café des Amis has a lovely vibe for dinner if you guys wanted to try it, and if you get some down time it's great fun to go on a punting tour! My friend punts on the boats and it's great in this beautiful weather - you'd love the stories they tell, they're so funny! Hope the shows at Marlowe go well! Enjoy Xx
Lovely vlog, great mix of banter and WHAT an opening!!! Really carefully edited together and I could just hear 'I'm melting... I'm MELTING' in my head. Maybe I'm calling you Shrek, maybe I'm hoping for another role for yez... anyhooooo thanks for this - great shout out to Francesca, that was super cool!?!? Also properly loved the motorbike cam!!
Fantastic intro! Love the creativity you've been putting into your vlogs over the past few months :) What about bringing bits of your kitchen essentials from home? You could put herbs, spices, tea, coffee, etc. in little containers or ziplock bags so they won't take up as much space! Kind of like how you would decant toiletries into small tubs and bottles for a short trip. Also can't believe your run with Chitty is almost over - can't wait to see what you're up to next (although I secretly wish you'd in the Edinburgh shows so I could come watch you)!
My family has a collection of small plastic pots and travel size bottles where they keep oil and salt and spices and such for camping. Perhaps something to consider preparing for your next tour ^_^
You could buy a set of small pots in a homeware shop (if that's what they're called) and fill in a bit of the spices, the coffee, etc before you go to a new city. Shouldn't take as much space, I think. Also, I'm quite sure I've seen something like that in stores. (And if you can't buy any of these, use one of these sets they provide for flights; these bottley that all fit liquids of under 100 ml. I'm sure they would work with powder as well.)
This is my favourite vlog yet! Partly because I saw you in Canterbury on Wednesday and it was amazing show slightly warm but amazing!! ( and also one of my favourite places is Canterbury and caspers ice cream is the best!) and partly because I gave a glimpse backstage at a theatre I aspire to work at (stage manager or techie)!!
BEST INTRO EVER
I can't think of a better one?!!
Loved it!!
That child catcher costume reminds me so much of Noel Fielding.
I love your style of vlogging.
Thank you!! That means a lot!! xxx
It is really great!! :D, hope Chitty's going well xx
Me too!
CARRIE! You can use one of those daily pill boxes to put herbs, salt, garlic and whatever else to take with you while on tour! Buy normal sizes while at your flat then only put enough to fit in the compartments of the pill box!
Aww. I miss these!
Having to do a warm up in that heat! You strong woman!
*sweats*
THE INTRO WAS GOLD JUST GOLD
Re-watching this in 2020 and 5:34 has me shook. I can't imagine sharing food now 😅
I've just realised how soon it is that I see Chitty I'm not ready! So excited to see Lee Mead in theatre again (I saw him in Joseph when I was like seven) and to see you, Carrie.

Ya know those 'pills of the day' things that have little pill containers for each day of the week? Could you put salt, spices and all that jazz in there?
You completely nailed Truly Scrumptious, amazing performance!
'Where's Casper's!?' Lol, the desperation/urgency in that little question made me giggle 😊
Canterbury looks so beautiful!
Canterbury has such a surreal beauty. I didn't spend too long there but I'd love to go back.
Proper fangirled when Lee Mead appeared!
Me too! I saw him in Chitty the other night in Canterbury and he is just so amazing! X
I want to watch it so badly now but it's not coming anywhere near me D: xx
For sugar, me and my mum collect the little sachets from coffee shops when we go camping and then recycle the paper packets. It means you don't have to buy a big pack and the portions are easy. Great for tea too! xxxxx
The last time I was this early, Carrie still had long hair.
u rite
I literally liked this just for the intro
I can never get bored of your vlogs and I get bored with vids v easily. Also, you look absolutely gorgeous here and hope the tour goes well xx
Omg. I spent an entire school year in Canterbury for my study abroad and I am just having so many feelings watching you wander around the streets I called home. It's where I fell in love multiple times- with England, with Canterbury, with my current boyfriend (LDR 1 ½ years and counting). I hope you have an amazing time there!
this one has such a cheery vibe in it. makes me happy
The singing at the beginning was so satisfying to listen to
I could cry! I was in Canterbury on the 24th! I was right outside the Marlowe theatre while you were performing taking pictures for my art project and I had no idea you were inside! Arghh!!!

I just realised now I went to one of the shows in Canterbury!!!!!! Before I even heard of you!!!!!!! 😄😄😄😆😁😁😁

It's weird seeing the places I see on the daily basis in the background of your vlogs 😂 I love my local theatre! The Marlow is great
I knowwww it's so wierd😂😂
Great Video Carrie, Canterbury looks lovely , Looking forward to seeing the show in Birmingham.
it's so cool to see you walk through the streets of Canterbury, one of the few towns in England I have had the pleasure to stay in for more than a day. I miss it. x
Stayed at the Falstaff back in 2012. Great place, the hotel is decently priced. Very very low ceiling beams anyone over 6 foot will have to duck in the pub.
that intro was glorious

Oml them vocals though at the start spot on!!💗💗
Always a joy to watch your Vlogs Carrie, I never want them to end!
I've lived in Canterbury for the last three years for Uni at UKC. It's so crazy to see Carrie here, I hope you enjoy you're time here xx
When you suddendly recognize every place that shows up in one of your fave videos XD
YAY, Canterbury
I've just finished on the other side and it's my favourite book I think I've ever read 😊 looking forward to a film or stage version being made now 😂
When we go on picnics or away for weekends etc . I wrap salt, herbs etc in cling film then pop them all in a empty food bag/pencil case/make up bag & sauces etc I put in those little plastic food containers from the pound shop (& wrap cling film around , just in case of any spills/leaks). I love the family feeling of a musical theatre cast -- eating each other's ice cream from the cone and such. It's so sweet.
Can't believe you only have 6 weeks left! Feel like we've all been on this journey with you and it's just awesome, plus we loved seeing chitty in Nottingham 💛
Canterbury is beautiful I've never been and I need to go now! xxx
ahhh, carrie's the sweetest! her vlogs are so uplifting

The ice cream part of this video made me smile so much! Can't wait to see this beautiful cast in 2 weeks!
So weird seeing you walk through the streets I walk down all the time! Saw you in Chitty on Wednesday and it was amazing!!
that was the most adorbs intro... and all in costume!
So weird to see you film in my hometown! Saw you in chitty on Tuesday and it was amazing! Took my boyfriend to see his first musical and he loved it!
Thank you for sharing your day with us Carrie, do appreciate it.
I so wish I had the money or the time off work to see Chitty but I can't but I can't believe how close to me you are right now Canterbury is literally the next town along from mine and to see you walking in places I've walked before is amazing-soooo wish I could meet you
Saw you at the Marlowe last night as I live just outside Canterbury! It's lovely, isn't it? Your show was amazing!xx
Also, yes there is a lush in Canterbury!!! :)
AND KASPAS IS LOVELY OMG
i also live there for uni, im gutted i couldnt go
This is really surreal to watch because I live in Cardiff but I come from Canterbury, so the videos from these tour stops make me double-take every time! :') This was such a lovely video! :)
I want someone to look at me the way Lee Mead looks at ice cream.
I fangirled a little when I saw Lee Mead. He was a huge childhood crush 😍😍
I I couldn't stop rewinding the first 10 seconds
The wifi is awful in the dressing rooms of the Marlowe and unfortunately I have only ever had a fridge once out of all the times I have performed there. I now finally know my way around! Love your videos soooooo much! Lots of Love, Darcy xxxx
Carrie, you should consider taking small amounts of seasonings and oils and such in little containers from home. Tick tack containers work particularly well for seasoning. And coconut oil is a good choice for travel because it stays solid if it's cool enough.
that beginning was SPOT ON!
The intro made my life ❤️🙌🏻
Carrie you can use one of those weekly pill boxes and fill each section with herbs/salt/sugar
I haven't seen the video yet and I have a fear of vomit - can someone tell me if you actually see Carrie being ill or anything like that before I watch it please? xxxx
okay, thank you so much! xx
You aren't the only one who's emet >.< I was worried about it too, thanks for asking xx
It's an anecdote, no vomit or vomiting whatsoever. (I have a phobia of people vomiting)
I'm emet too, I can relate! I'm glad there's no visual.
Rachel W thank you for asking this I'm the same, and this was so helpful!
The intro was the best thing i've seen today! x
The show was brilliant yesterday in Canterbury! So glad I finally got to hear you sing in person :D
you can put herbs and spices and salt in a pill box that has sections for each day, then put clingfilm over it before you clip the lid down to stop it from spilling in your bag xx
My local theatre. I bloody love the Marlow.
Body goals Miss Fletcher ❤️
I went to uni in Canterbury and I love and miss it so much!! Hope you have the best time there, and really enjoy how beautiful it is! (and btw, the Falstaff is a pretty swanky hotel/pub aha!) xx
6 weeks left!!!
aw the part with the ice cream and boys was so precious :)
mcdonalds style sachets of pepper and salt :) oil... use a little travel bottle that you usually use for shampoo etc :) sauces.. just get some sachets :D
Carrie! I hope you'll join the cast of a show in America sometime!! I'd love to be able to meet you and see you perform live!
Oh that Ice Cream bit was adorable! Oh that just made me smile! 💜💜💜
So so glad you liked your T-bag bath bits we saw them and just had to get them for you! :D xxx
I really wanted you to smush that ice cream into Matt's cheek when he didn't turn around for ages!!
I'm coming to see Chitty tomorrow! I actually can't contain my excitement!♡♡♡
I love Canterbury, it's like a home from home for me :) hope the shows went well! xxx
AHHHH omg this is so exciting for me I know Canterbury like the back of my hand- I've danced on the Marlowe stage twice, and there are two waterstones, with your books in!
lee mead in this video is adorable 💕
Canterbury has just been put on my list of places I would like to visit. It's beautiful there!
That was THE most beautiful intro to a video ever. Or at least the top five, yknow.
I am so excited to come see the first show in Birmingham of chatty and hopefully get to meet you... Love your dear Tom and Gi vlogs ❤️
Fantastic intro! Love the creativity you've been putting into your vlogs over the past few months :)
What about bringing bits of your kitchen essentials from home? You could put herbs, spices, tea, coffee, etc. in little containers or ziplock bags so they won't take up as much space! Kind of like how you would decant toiletries into small tubs and bottles for a short trip.
Also can't believe your run with Chitty is almost over - can't wait to see what you're up to next (although I secretly wish you'd in the Edinburgh shows so I could come watch you)!
The beginning was beautiful
My family has a collection of small plastic pots and travel size bottles where they keep oil and salt and spices and such for camping.
Perhaps something to consider preparing for your next tour ^_^
I'm coming to watch one of your Canterbury shows ! So excited xxx
wishing you lovely stay in Canterbury, and the Lush in Canterbury is really great so definetly pop in there!
I watched you perform in chitty chitty bang bang in Canterbury you were so good !!! You are so talented ❤️❤️
