Not everyone learns like this. And no everything wasn’t better or harder in the 80s. I thought myself to barefoot on a 70 slalom rope on the ski pole. I had a few bad falls but just kept going. Also a boombar isn’t some magical thing. Yes it can help people to learn but doing tricks is still hard and takes skill.
Nice to have punchy boats and great instructors! I never got off the boom... My friend sold his Nautique and my friend with the Mastercraft moved before I got to really trying my hand at deepwater starts... Really cool video... Yeah, I dropped my toes and went face splattering! At 50, I don't think I have the sack (or body) any longer to do it... Then again, if Banana George could make it look easy at 85, I suppose I could hang on for a bit to a boom today... lol
Depends on how heavy he is and how much weight the boom is taking at what angle depends on speed. Faster is easier due to the water being harder. But it hurts and scares new footers.
@@iateskyeshotwaterhehe-3556 what the fuck does the southern 80 have to do with bare footing you tool. Also superclass is is speed restricted to 120 mph plus it’s a winding river. Can’t hold full speed the whole way. Get your facts straight.
@@aegeusmax3646 a bit faster is easier. But it doesn’t take too much to go too fast and cause more trouble than it’s worth. Also any average adult should be footing between 39 and 44 mph no matter the skill. Anymore or less causes too much dramas. There’s no need going too fast. You’re just learning poor form and technique.
The best thing he could do is learn how to ride on his butt get stable doing that then plant your feet. Ridding on your butt is probably the most important thing you could learn in the beginning
Dude find some flat water. Straighten your arms and slow the boat down a bit. Oh yeah and tell the boat driver to stop doing donuts at the end 😂you certainly look like you have the skills. Actually find someone better to teach you if you haven’t already.
shit driver throwing too many rollers when he collects the skier no wonder the poor guy battling to get up cause too much wake caused by THE DRIVER !!!! exaclty why he is bouncing
The pain is learning in the early 80’s. You got it so easy now I could teach anyone with any balance!!
No kidding. I go back even further. A 40 Johnson on a 20 foot Lund and we made it work. It wasn't pretty, but we eventually got it.

This seems like a case of "Hold my beer, open wide throttle"

Nice boat. Turns awesome
My goodness that's funny as hell 5:40 ! Good sh!t
Lmao he said “holy shit!”
Arms STRAIGHT!
No shit
Holy rollers everywhere! LOL
About 8 to 10 mph too fast. You don't need to go THAT fast, it works against the skier.
Do u know what the southern 80 is?
It’s the biggest boat race for skiers 140 all the way 80 kilometres

And…..straight arms dude
First of all, The driver needs to learn how to operate a damn boat properly, sheesh. Also, arms straight, knees bent and toes up!!
no kidding screws up the water on every turn
What’s the boat driver doing wrong?
@@Michael-xb7nq a fast turn at the end of the run screws up the water
Dave Olson What you mean it creates waves
That’s gotta be some of the worse barefoot instruction and boat driving ever! But it is definitely fun to watch. Lol.
That driver's going waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to FAST!
It’s a case of throw my brain away. Just give me the rope. 😂
LMAO
Barefoot Alley, Texas, Alley-CATS
Maybe you should learn how to drive a boat instead...rollers all over the damn lake!
If this is his first time barefooting hella props to him for doing all that first try
Nice boat, turns great🤙
Sometimes the skill and sympathy of the drive helps, I.e drop speeds d drop to bottom over wake

Love it
Stiffler learns to barefoot.
I can feel the pain of barefooting on wavy water
#dammitman gawdddammit that shits funny but he took a beatin lmao
That power turn throws rollers across the whole lake. You've got calm water, why fuck it up? Be much less painful with a better driver.
Yup! Terrible video!
Totally agree
Ok this guy should go back to golf. 😂
Don Woelky driving?
That had to hurt!
just started and i love it
I understand how you feel # thestrugleisreal
THAT'S HOW U DO IT!!!

ROLLERS.
hajajajajajaj nice bros!!

Completely agree. Good barefoot driver is hard to find.
Too fast and stop with the hard turns after he falls, you are tearing up the lake. Why drive like a total dbag all the time?
Way to fast
you're going way too fast
You have to go that fast to barefoot.
Billy Johnson no you dont have to go that fuckin fast
@@billyjohnson1009 I hope to god you don’t tow anyone barefooting if you think this is the right speed and way to drive. 🤔
@@billyjohnson1009 Um no you don't! Not a big guy he should be 35-38 Mph
I agree, too fast…and no bent arms…back when I learned, we didn’t have the bar, you just busted it until you got the hang of it
blah
