it’s astounding that they improvised this. it’s even more astounding that you can make sense of it, while also making it make sense to others.
AMEN! Feel soooo good to be able to have the receptors required to feel all that with our 3D restricted perceptions. Feel kinda weird saying that but for me, it feels like emotional tapestry. I never played any instrument but it makes myself being more complete and I genuinly want to extend my emotions by learning to play (yes, in like having fun!) and most of all....Feel it, so much more now. It's not even funny.
Oh, I almost forgot. Merry Xmas to you all, whoever read those lines. It's all about perspective after all: we are alone, together. For a really really short while. Enjoy and please, please. Dare and risk making someone you don't know, smile. this could be called music too. ;)
It makes me want to practice and give up at the same time.
Oh wow this comment is so perfect I should probably frame it.
for me, i just wanna give up lol.
@@rahul_krishna98 absolutely..going to get a frame now
😂
Great analysis! Also, the best editing out here in music theory land
I bet they are not even thinking about it...
Leon - you're doing the music community a great service. Truly phenomenal work. I love your approach to analysis which gives good depth and insights but doesn't get over encumbered with detail. The visual palate of white notes on a black b/g with analysis in bright colors is novel and refreshing, and what you do with the score - zooming in and out, jumping back and forth, highlighting and labeling key ideas as they occur - truly makes the music theory happening exciting and relevant. Keep this going, it's an excellent approach, and thank you for these great videos.
yes the colorization of the notation is so good thanks
Dude this is shockingly well analysed and visualised. Thank you for existing.
Aa soon as I realised this wasn't going to be about: 'Every Good Boy Deserves Football' I knew it was going to go above my head.
Such a great break down Leon, well- explained!
Wonderful video yet again. Thanku!
thanks for transcribing this!
This is such an amazing video (just like the others), keep it up!
This is probably the best music theory video I’ve seen in my whole life. Thank you so much!
“Lets just be difficult… ok?” Awesome
Insane quality of work again!
❤️
Dude, your channel is G R E A T! Greetings from Brazil!
Your analysis is insanely good 👍
The fact that this guy is breaking every note down is super difficult but absolutely amazing! 💯👏
Awesome video!
Ok, I know how to transcribe and analyze music, but how did you manage to pull off such a beautiful and concise animation of the stuff and notation? I'm genuinely curious what kind of animation software/s you are using to achieve such a spectacular presentation! You are my favorite music-related YT channel, btw.
Sibelius for notation and the Adobe editing suite for animation/video!
@@leonwaves Thank you very much for the reply, you did an amazing job!
you really got me with that bit at the end. they look so much alike
very well visualized
Wonderful presentation. subbed
very educational and nice visuals
The Brithemathguy bit was too funny 🤣🤣 amazing video!!
Fascinating
dude what is this! you are awesome! thank you!
0:30 "you gonna die either way" already explains enough
Just saw this now old video on Justin’s instagram. I’m completely blown away by this breakdown. How freaking long did it take you to transcribe this, analyze it, record and edit the video, add your voice to it, and make sure all that is done to this level of quality!? The heck!?
You’re a legend!!
about a week :)
All right there's a new standard in score visualization now.
Awesome video! Do you have an mp3 file or something where we can listen the entire section with the sound of your program? It sounds amazing
Damn incredible graphics in this one
Awesome analysis, Leon!
WE think you shouldn't have to make excuses for your choice of accidentals or key signatures! Why not use microtonal tuning systems like we do? ;) Check out our latest Stevie Wonder cover of "Overjoyed" in 31-EDO on our channel! We'd love to see you try to transcribe the keyboard solo! Consider it a challenge!
Love the stuff you guys do!
You almost got me with the math thing
god this is crazy. Its like jacob plays everything intuitively but also knows completely what is going on and makes it make complete harmonic sense at the same time
Great job as always Leon! It would be pretty fun to see an analysis like this of the 2020 NAMM improv between Jesus Molina and Justin Lee
That’s a good one
Football??? It was always Fudge for me. If it was football I probably would have quit music at 14 lol
holy shit being interested in music and playing instruments and seeing shit like this makes me feel like they're on another level
Same
❤
congratulations! You made a video and the analysis of the song that is more impressive than the song
God damn.
shoutout to Fᶜʳᵘⁿᶜʰ
you are my favorite music youtuber, please do more non-jacob collier content
What’s wrong with my boy Jacob
@@leonwaves i'm sorry, do your thing. i just find him corny and when you are into music YT you just get recommended jacob collier content all the time
Ah I feel you. There’s plenty of other topics on the way!
Don’t you worry
🤯
Yo you should analyze Jacob collier playing “quartermaster” with snarky puppy.
great video. honest question, what did you mean by the brithemathguy? I mean, I get it was meant to be a joke, but I can't understand the reference :) thank you!
lol he looks similar to Adam Neely
@@leonwaves got it, ty!
I got excited thought it was sublime lol
I love you
What on earth haha
imagine trying to sight this
And Justin is a 14 years old boy😳😱🤯
Do you think it is possible to transcribe like this without perfect pitch?
With a well trained relative pitch and an identified reference pitch, you can definitely transcribe this
faa, cuanto carajo tardas en hacer toda esta interpretacion, animacion y edicion D:
Unas cuarenta horas total para todo
@@leonwaves Genio total, jajajaja es un monton, pero el video es sublime y hermoso
Muchas gracias 🙏🏻
Salutations viewers

Yum
Best chord: Fcrunch
I think I'm in the wrong class D;
I will never fully grasp the concept that is Jacob Collier, too much talent in that guy, spread that talent around to like 6 people pls and thank you
Great visualization! As for the coincidences.. I don't think they play with "maybe a A lydian over F# would counterpoint his chromatic ideas" in mind... it´s more like "fuck yeah let's jam this shit!" :)
Isn’t g flat and f sharp the same thing
They are
Adam Neely has a doppelganger.
Yep, that's definitely not Adam Neely. XD
fard
1:06 THE LICK, almost
Since when was Gb problematic? It's not like you're constantly thinking about the name and accidental status of every note you play. They're just sounds, especially to guys with ears like there.
these videos are too difficult for me, maybe for most people
Adam the math guy...
Adam Neely is not BriTheMathGuy, what sort of joke is this? 🥳
Sorry but the idea that Jacob was thinking of any part of this as being in Lydian seems insane to me lol like yes he spends a lot of time sitting on Eb and Gb chords but it's clearly in Bb (or maybe g minor) the entire time - the Gb stuff is just mode mixture. To argue otherwise is like saying Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" is actually in G Lydian instead of D major since there are so many more G chords than D chords.
Lydian is basically Jacob's brand. It would not surprise me at all if he was thinking of it this way.
Jacob need to lessen on his salad voices, to be simple and melodic needs more power than complexity
