Great show! I got here by way of reading Peter Ford's biography of his dad. Imagine my surprise when the featured guest actor is none other than the great Bobby Darin! RIP Glenn, Bobby, and Edgar "Uncle Joe" Buchanan.
I haven't seen this since it was originally on the air. It was a pretty good show and I remember being a bit disappointed when it only lasted one or two seasons. I still remembered Edgar Buchanan being his deputy and thinking even back then that he was way, way to old to be any sort of law enforcement officer. I mean, he was 'a-movin' mighty slow' if you catch my drift.
I remember watching this show as a kid. I liked Glenn Ford. He played Sam Cade well. Too bad it was only on for a season or two. Hey! Any time "Uncle Joe" was in the cast it was going to be an interesting show!!! Whoo Whooo Pettecoat Junction.
The ending always takes me by surprise…… I thought he was going to be shot, injured in some way, but Glen just went and chopped Bobby in the back……. at least he didn't die in this show…… love Bobby Darin, great entertainer in singing and acting too…… if Bobby had lived longer who knows how far his star would have risen or how far he would gone personally…… Loved, missed and remembered fondly over these many years……… RIP BOBBY DARIN !!!!!!!!
used to watch this with my Dad! such good memories & what a treat! thank you!

The last few Western feature films that Ford made were for MGM.
Got busted in 2nd grade in 1971 for whistling the theme to cades county,,,those crazy nuns
Funny...I could've sworn watching this as a child it was from MGM and not 20th Century Fox....
Wow,this kind of sucked! I guess that explains the low ratings for the show. Just dismal!
