I’m downsizing from using a large Happy Planner for family memory keeping. I used to add lots of ephemera and photos. I considered doing pen-only…I can’t go that far. I decided to use my Canon Ivy. What is your photo strategy? I don’t want to bulk it up too soon. Maybe 1/month?

GUILT. haha, but on a serious note, when I have an hour or 2 to sit down and commit myself to it, I'll cross reference my planner and any photos in my camera roll to spark a memory of what happened on the day I need to fill out. I will also try to document my feelings about it, rather than the details of the day (as I probably forgot most of them). If I'm on a day where nothing happens, I'll pull some of my prompts and complete those in the space, or just write something down that has nothing to do with the particular date, but documents my current feelings and thoughts about myself and my life. I've also just filled a space with stickers, or printed a photo to fit the size of the box. There's a bunch of tricks, the hardest part is moving beyond the expectation that every day needs to be an accurate list of daily activities - and accepting that if your hands touched all of the pages and made 5 years of effort to filling out a journal, THAT is a wonderful accomplishment and that is enough :)
