I thought the lighting is good. The ring light really helps. Love your projects. I may have to start one of the Mother Earth series as well! I have been trying to wait till I had a couple other fancy ladies done but every time you show them I just want to get started on one. I am interested in seeing your diagonal videos. I also do diagonal stitching were I cross country down the diagonal. But I do a lower left to upper right diagonal. On your large piece it looked like you were doing a upper left to lower right diagonal. I also stitch lower left to upper right for my tent stitch. I do 20 stitches between diagonals. I always find it interesting to see the different variations in stitching. I have one full coverage at 80% and I tried several different ways of stitching on it, including diagonal. So far I am not seeing lines. But I think the type of fabric also makes a difference. If the weave is loose or if it holds itself together well. Happy stitching.

I love watching your videos with a bowl of popcorn and when you brought out the summer piece and told us what your friend said I spit my popcorn out and laughed so hard because I thought the same thing when you held it up. Your full coverage pieces are so beautiful. Your cats are so beautiful. I love on how you are so organized with your stitching. I give you a lot of credit for stitching 10 projects in a week. I am retired and there is no way I can stitch on 10 WIP's in a week. I try to put in 200 stitches on one piece a day and then I will spend time in my garden. You always brighten up my day. Can not wait to see your next videos. Happy Stitching.

I look forward to your videos every day. Absolutely amazing stitching. When you talked-about diagonal stitching using tent stitch, I watched a video a couple of years ago, and the person showed how she would go from bottom left to top right on one row, and go top right to bottom left in the next row. It keeps the thread from pulling in just one direction. I have been doing that ever since, and I have no lines. As always, I look forward to seeing your videos. 😊

I bought the Omanik stand and scroll rods and frames in 2016 for my full coverage. I can’t recommend them enough! No matter how I stitch the piece I don’t have lines. I spent close to $600 then and worth every last penny.

Great progress! I love Mountain Cabin. I'm stitching on a sister piece (the same scene from a different view) called Log Cabin Home. Happy stitching 💜

The Watercolors is similar to the wool/yarn used for needlepoint. I can see how it'd be bulky on regular cross stitch fabric.

I’m struggling with a 25 easy count fabric. Tent won’t work. 2/1 is too thick and 1/1 is to thin. I guess I have to pull my floss tighter. Great video. New starts make me giggle. You go girl.

I always enjoy watching your light-hearted and informative videos and look forward to many more. I like that you adapt your ideas when something isn’t working for you and enjoy your family stories, etc. because of your diagonal stitching discussion on this video, I am relaying my personal experiences below:
I have tried numerous methods of diagonal stitching, and for me, the one constant that resulted in indentation lines emerging on the front is that the work was done along a “rigid diagonal” (also seems to happen when worked in straight columns). If stitching is done along a “sort of” diagonal, with some stitching less than and some stitching more than the rigid diagonal, the lines did not appear. Nothing scientific about my tests, but my theory is that the bare fabric exposed on the back of the work is a weaker area and would have a natural tendency to “bend” (similar to your display boards bending where they have been creased). Some stitchers work a jagged pattern along the edges of pages (I.e., Blitstitch), some stitchers work a ragged-edged diagonal (I.e., Gemma Stitches), some achieve this by carrying their parked threads from one column to the next to “break up” the hard edge (I.e.,Handwork Maniac’s daughter, Catherine). I have tried staggering the diagonal edge by two stitches instead of one, and that was successful also. Again all of this is not a scientific experiment, just observation and personal theory, for what it’s worth 😊

Nice progress! I should have been catching up on Merry Mushroom today. Instead I started MFE's Never Laugh at a Live Dragon. I'm in Slytherin with you in the Harry Potter game, but was placed in Hufflepuff by one of those quizzes. Hufflepuff actually fits me and is what I've started stitching in that part of Letters of Hogwarts. That's definitely a full coverage block. Take care.

Hi Jen, I had a look at my Caron Waterlilies, and it says 12 ply, and the strands can be divided. I bought mine in Australia so I don't know if we get different stock.
I also went to cross country stitching and missed seeing the picture come to life. But I really don't want to go back to parking. I'm also thinking of changing my tent stitch projects to full cross. I need to do some experimenting as well.

I would like to find out about how you did that baby blanket with cross stitch. How do you cover the back with the stitches showing? Would love to see your back, very slowly so I can tell what you did, please.

I see how you store all your WIP’s, but do you set aside a set of bobbins for each project? Your bags seem “flat” and I was curious how you organize all the floss for all of your WIP’s. I keep a separate case of bobbins for each one, especially my HAED’s.

I work out of one master set, the only time I keep floss with specific projects is if it’s a kit or if it’s fancy floss

"I don't think I have any full coverage new starts in this round"
Easy solution would be to pull one and substitute it, so you can do your video. - ETA, nvm, should have watched longer.

    Another great video ❤
I have a question regarding your diagonals, how far do you carry your thread? I am converting many of my pieces to diagonals that I stitch line by line to always come up in a clean hole. I am doing my HAED SAL diagonal 10x10 blocks.

How would u keep a clean back while doing full coverage when u have 10 stitches and in those ten u change colors 8 times?

    • @jennthecaffeinatedcrafter5679
      @jennthecaffeinatedcrafter5679  3 месяца назад

I don’t 😂😂 full coverage only evervhas a clean back if there’s a lot of block stitching or if you pin stitch every color change. Which to me is a waste of time
