I’m in Iowa but luckily I was a safe distance from the rotation where a tornado that apparently touched down, I hope everyone who experienced this storm is safe and stays in the safe zone.
No tornadoes through warsaw Indiana but we lost some trees, powerlines and even a gas main got uprooted. All in a hyper fixed area. The wind sheer was acting like it wanted to drop a tornado, but even straight line winds hit 90mph

Western Marylander here! We rarely get bad weather. It does happen on occasion ! That said ,I would highly recimmend getting a NOAA Weather radio. I listen to my radio every single morning! It is part of my Daily Morning Routine! Excellent device !

Crest Hill, IL had the sirens go twice, a lot of power flickers, with one lasting about 5 minutes in my area. But north and south of me is bad off. Estimated return of power as late as friday for some. And at least 10 NWS reports of potential tornadoes around Chicago at one time.
It’s a mess here in Illinois. No power and going to be out for most of the week. Some restored by Wednesday the rest Friday. Power lines went down on I-55 catching vehicles underneath so that’s shut down.

I live in the quad city area and for some reason we're in a safe zone. From the map you can see where the valley starts out by the i80 truck stop well into town. Because that storm yesterday died down as soon as it reached us in the metro area. As soon as it crossed the Mississippi River it took off and became 102 mph winds over there on the Illinois side out past silvis. I remember as a kid hearing in school that chief Blackhawk some say he blessed the area. But I think it's more because we're on the spot where the river runs east to west here.
@@TheTwistedGang a cable box was ripped out of the ground too, and a street sign destroyed and in the middle of the road, but the next street over looks like no wind happened at all.
@@kathyharbarger13 it’s terrifying for us-my entire life I had only ever heard the tornado siren 3 times (I’m almost 30) and only 1 of those did a tornado touchdown as an f0, literally no one “takes shelter” there because we knew even IF. Tornado popped up for the first time in decades, it would be super weak anyway. But HERE; we had 3 tornados in only a 1 hour period last year within a mile of our home, and a neighborhood 20 minutes from us had the homes ripped from their foundations. Idk how y’all handle it up here I’m terrified all summer long!

The damage in Canandaigua, NY was pretty major. The lake area received a lot of damage in particular, but there are other areas.

My kids slept with helmets on for several hours-I’m from a no tornado state, so living in Illinois has been a big shock for us
