I use this for all my hair type arrangements, I am all thumbs and this allows me to be less fiddly. What I do is blob the tag with a lighter to stop me pulling it through by accident.
Yes I also learned it from Rob Wootton some time ago. It's a great knot. Only problem is if you're using really small hooks with thicker line, sometimes you can't pass the line through twice. I use it 99% though.
If the eye is to small, start your knotless knot also trapping the tag end with two turns. Then fold the tag to the hook bent. Finish your knotless knot over the tag end too.
Been useing this knot, just be aware not to pull to hard on the loop when spiking banding ect or you will pull the loop out ! Rob Wooton showed this method some time ago. Works well with punched meat and a quick stop.
The small draw back is you are limited by the diameter of the line v the size of the eye because it don’t fit through I reckon the limit is .16/.17 in most cases
Trick is getting a batch of hooks with an eye just big enough for the line to go through 3 times .. , you only find out by trial and error ,, ive had the same hook pattern that works ok with a 14 yet a size 12 it wont go through ??? Makes no sense ..lol
Sorry Tom I was using this knot years ago but stopped using it because it has a tendency to pull out from the hook and then you no longer have a hair rig.

For those worried about eye size, Middy KM hooks have a bigger eye.

Hi Tommy
Sorry to be a pain but,
Which catapult would you recommend for loose feeding maggots?
Thanks
Pete
that is a left handed counter-clockwise overhand loose loop blood knotless knot
That’s ok but you need a big hook otherwise the eye isn’t big enough to get three lots of line through it .
Paul Holland has been using this for years Tommy, sorry AT
