We grew an apothecary and dried flowers amd herbs. We learned how to make tinctures and salves . Now i get to teach it to our homeschool co op. I think everyone needs to learn this with the days we are in. Love your greenhouse. ❤

This is EXACTLY the venture and season I'm moving into... putting my other home business on the back burner to spend more time with my children (we also homeschool) and teach them essential survival survival knowledge. I'm so excited and blessed to be able to do this! ❤blessings on you and your family!

It is so helpful for me to see what others are doing to make their gardens a success, it is just as helpful to understand other's failures.

this year is flowers. just flowers. ive always thought they were a waste of money but they are my favorite part in anyone else’s garden so thats my focus this year. plus its a newborn year for our family so i cant commit to too much gardening this spring. so if all i get is a few fresh homegrown bouquets , boom, success :)
ive always tried so hard at veggies and been disappointed while my mom keeps an incredible veggi garden. so ill just trade her flowers for veggies!

I’ve had minimal gardening space the last five years. I’ve done some herbs and tried peas last year with some success. This year we’re moving somewhere with a yard! I’m going to keep it super small this year since we’re moving in the spring, but next year I want a couple raised beds!

You're right about growing what is really gonna get eaten! So, I'm just planning on a few fresh eating cucumbers, peppers as a family of 2, and we have so much in my pantry. Planting more flowers in my potagerGarden...

Last year for me was baking sourdough and starting a small garden. I also had a baby. 😂This year is expanding the garden and learning to can, plus expanding our chicken flock.

Lovely greenhouse and garden! You’re inspiring me to start on mine this year. A tip to eliminate “seed float” is to start with soil or mix that is pre-watered and already moistened before planting. I look forward to seeing all that sage in bloom around your garden for your bees!! Thank you for sharing.

How many plants do you expect to get? If I have limited space, and I want sage- how many seeds do you plant if you only want 1 or 2 plants? Expect that you won’t have 100% germination?

My goal is to actually get eggplants this year. Last year the flea beetles kept eating my plants. I will not let them win this year!! 😂 I love eggplant too much.

Did you ever heard of "the greenbox" for more vegetables and fruit from 1 plant/tree? Or putting copper wire in the garden to protect your garden from insects? I'm reading into it and it sounds spectaculair....

I see you love the method of growing seeds in containers with holes so that water would hydrate the soil from the bottom. In Russia there is a trend of growing the seeds in paper rolls. The principle is the same but you do a roll consisting of a plastic bag (or a non-stick paper) and paper towel with seeds spread near the top of the paper. You roll this rectangle and put it in a bit of water (in a warm place covering until it shows first sprouts). Than you replace sprouts in the soil. The author of the method is the channel Урожайный огород. Watch one of her latest videos or her old first videos years ago. It helps to grow much more seeds this way, even old ones if you add several drops of vinegar in water (or hydrogene peroxide).

Be aware that stinging nettle spreads like crazy. If you're not on top of pulling it before it seeds, you'll have a full garden of it next year with no effort at all. :) Love nettle tea!!

I live in CT and shocked someone is growing stinging nettle from seed. It is an obnoxious weed here. Everywhere. Useful. But not something you purposely plant in your garden.

Love your book about starting the farm. It was something that gave me the idea how a modern person can return back to nature. Still reading and rereading. But I agree my own practice is very precious. Just do it!💪

I hope you reach all of your gardening goals this year! I'm also adding to my little apothecary garden by starting more herbs from seed this year. Mugwort is one I started last year, and it's a very beautiful plant both in appearance and scent. Can't wait to see it start growing again in the spring :)
