I own the Olympus 9mm, got the 7 Artisans UFO lens based on your review and have now ordered the Pergear 10mm also based on your review. I especially like the fact that they include a metal lens cap. Wish 7 Artisans would have included a cap for their lens. Thank you air your excellent reviews. I follow you constantly.
Thanks Fernado, sorry for giving you GAS ahhah. Well, we live in a world that has too many things to empty our pockets. Lucky this one isn't expensive.
Always late to the party, have had an eye on this lens for the last several months but was afraid to sink $80 into it. (Yeah, I’m cheap) Just last Saturday was checking the Pergear site and the lens was listed as on sale for $55 for M4:3 mount! Couldn’t get my credit card out fast enough. Lens arrived Friday and you are right, what a blast! I see now the lens is back to regular price.
Looks like an interesting lens but it is only a few dollars less that the Pergear 35 1.2 lens I purchased. The price would have to came down a bit to be considered
Can't wait for someone to make a weather-sealed body cap lens one day. Waiting for both this lens and the UFO lens to come in, thanks for your reviews.
How does it compare to the 7Artisans 7.5mm f2.8 fisheye? I really like that lens but it is a hefty little thing, I miss having the Oly 9mm f8 fisheye in my pocket as an alternative to the 14mm or 12-32mm. I can see the edges are much worse but I was always happy to crop the Oly for street photos (currently using Fuji and there is nothing like this). Having to crop less with this 10mm than the 7.5mm could be a resolution boost in itself.
Thanks for all your comments mate. I would say that 7Artisans may just be a tad better and the flexibility of opening up to 2.8 if needed. But a body cap lens like this is a totally different type. It's designed for quick snaps and quick reaction photography (almost no focusing needed). There's a pan focal lens that I reviewed too which is a pan focal and with a faster aperture. That one is quite special too.
That Pergear 10mm f8 lens has to be the perfect companion for my Panasonic GM5. Then it will be real pocket friendly camera. A really pocket and shoot camera.
@@Red35Photography I have the Pana GM1 and GM5, and they are too large for my pockets with the Pana/Leica 15/1.7, but with those two pancake lenses they will fit. And that 18 mm, it will be perfect sometimes with my Pen-F. I will do as you, buy both of them.
@@Red35Photography Bye the way, the best portrait camera is the Pana GM1 and Pana/Leica 45/2.8 makro. You have the camera in your palm, see the screen, look at the subject, and wait for the moment. I have done lots of portraits that way. And it works very well
I used to love going out with the GM5 and 14mm (without cap) in my pants pockets and the Oly 9mm BCL in the other pocket. Probably the main thing I miss about M43. I used to prefer that to using a Ricoh GR.
@@vrettakosalexandros I don't think there are many info on this, since not many people actually use this feature (thanks to the small group of users who actually use videos features in Olympus cameras). I don't think it's even in the manual, but Olympus added this feature kind of as an after thought. You can basically do the same thing when you edit your video and just do a frame grab.
Another lens to add to this wish list! 😉. Might also need to add a small body for it to go on to lol, thanks (now looked for the lens 2-3 weeks on amazon for mu mount and no trace on fea Bay 🤣 perks of being a you tuber getting bits earlier ❤️ well done Jimmy)
Have both this lens and the UFO lens coming in the pipeline :D Hey, I don't mind my E-M1 looking "unprofessional", I don't care what people think. It's my camera and I'm taking the pics :P

that is also my question, specially regarding image quality the Oly IQ degrades quite a lot at the corners, I always crop them. This lens seems much better but it looks like it has more vignette ?
hahahah sorry mate, I know, it just came it and after I tested it, I had to share it because it's a great little lens to compliment the 7Artisans ahaha.

Hello Jimmy , I would like you to tell me if olympus EM 1 III can take pictures during video operation. Thank you very much.
Yes you can, but it will only be a jpg frame shot in the chosen format. The picture will have a 16:9 ratio.
Jimmy thank you very much. Where can I find more information about this?

Cheers Alan, perks indeed but I am sharing my excitement about this little guy here. it's actually very usable.
It's great on a GM body, easily pants pocketable.

@@Ed-bj5eq No it's about the same. But IQ is way better than Olympus for sure.
Rockstar 10mm F8 mark II.
This looks VERY much like my Olympus 9mm, very much.
Yes it's basically the same but made with metal and glass :)
@@Red35Photography Hmm, are the lens elements on the Olympus 9mm made of plastic?
