NPCs are very real. Truly & honestly… The ability to notice & identify the Soap Opera Effect (Some modern TVs have motion interpolation settings which can make films go from standard 24fps to smoother frame rates and thus “feel” different and less cinematic)-and tell you if they prefer it or dislike it-is another litmus test I’ve found for figuring out it an individual is an NPC. NPCs will not be able to notice that anything is different, switching back and forth from SOE ‘on’ to ‘off’. Generally speaking, it’s hard to gauge how large a % of the population they are, but I am afraid the number would be surprisingly high, to most playable-character folks. My ballpark guess would be 60-70% of the population over 16 years old.
