    5 Essential Natural Cleaning Agents!
My five essential ingredients for making natural household cleaners are:
White Vinegar, Bicarbonate of Soda, Lemon Juice, Washing Soda Grains and Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castille Soap. These ingredients can be put to use for washing every area of the home.
Lavender Vinegar - Place your Lavender buds (Fresh or dried) into a jar and cover with white distilled vinegar. Leave to infuse for 4-6 weeks and then strain. Discard the Lavender to the compost heap and use the Lavender Vinegar for washing mirrors and windows, to clean shower doors and for adding to laundry or to any washing water.
Bath and Sanitary Ware cleaner - Half fill a small tub with Bicarbonate of Soda. Add a good squirt of lemon juice and mix well. Add a capful of vinegar and stir well. The mixture fizzes and foams as the chemicals in the lemon juice, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda react together. Then add a squirt of Dr. Bronners and mix until you have a thick cream cleaning lotion. Use a small amount on a damp cloth to clean the bath and basin. This can also be used on any enamel ware or on kitchen sinks. Removes dirt, grime and grease.
I also use the Washing Grains in my laundry, for cleaning drains and for washing wood work and floors.
Thank you for watching and please leave a comment. What do you use as a natural cleaning agent?

Hi Terri, are the washing grains you're using also called sodium carbonate? Trying to find it in the US. Thanks,

I have finally just made a batch of my very own laundry liquid using your easy peasy recipe. As i live a little out of the way of decent shops, ive had to rely on online supplies which took nearly two weeks to assemble. I had to half the quantities, and I used lemon balm essential oil. It has made my washing so soft! I don't usually use fabric softener, (my daughters suffer with eczema) so I'm used to crispy clothes😂 this is a pleasant surprise, I have to say, we are farmers so our clothes can come in a bit stinky! So I doubled the dosage for our work clothes just to be on the safe side. I love this stuff! I'm looking to make your wonderful hair care recipes next, so I'm very excited about that!

This is inspiring! The toxicity of cleaning agents seems necessary, and yet it isn't! I will try the bath scrub. Using cleaning products hurts my throat and makes me cough. This will be a blessing. Thank you.

Another, that im not sure you can get in the EU, but that does work well all the same, is borax. Natural mineral salts. I even use it in my drinking water (a pinch) to keep chlorine and fluoride from taking over the cells in the body. It has worked wonders, even in my shower that is used by three teenagers. Very good video!

I can’t find washing grains in Canada. Is there a different name for them perhaps?

My mum would always have me polish furniture with lemon and olive oil when I was a girl. I never could stand the lingering scent of vinegar in our home but it was magic on glass. I will be infusing mine with lavender from now on. Much obliged for the tip, Terri! Cheers from Ontario, Canada 🌻
